You find many videos on the net which talk about violin care and maintenance, but here I give you my way to treat your instrument in the best way you can.
Starting from a safe case, case straps, peg compound, polish and graphite for the strings on the upper nut, bridge position and instrument insurance.
I think it is easy to follow this advises.
Just take your time and get used to do it properly, and it will save you lots of troubles and money.

Is it best to hang my violin on the wall in the room where I play or should I keep it in a case? I play almost every day and hate to put my violin back in it's dark and lonely case as if it were bad! I would rather have it so I can look at it and admire it!

You can wash bow hair using soap and water then rinse dry and then rosin it
