I love how old Japanese game are so lively and immersive emotionally. As realistic as FSX or MSFS can get, You'll still feels like you're playing sim. And will willing to crash a plane or doing dangerous maneuver just for heck or it. But in this game, you are actually feeling like a pilot with a career. And on board are hundreds of living passenger who you need to deliver to the destination safely and comfortably. I think this kind of emotional immersion are something only old Japanese games can deliver.
Can't agree more! I'm so in love with those PA system voiced during flight! It really gives feeling like you're actually on the flight and, as you mentioned, gives sense of living passengers and crews on board which makes us feel like we don't wanna do shit like flying stunts or crashing the plane!

Can we talk about the impressive soundtrack in this game?!?!?!?! The menu music is great, and the use of music when the plane is in cruise speed works fine.

In the selection screen, there was the very rare 747-400D to be seen, nobody but the Japanese airlines used them, succceeding the 747-100SR, which introduced the Stretched Upper Deck to the 747 programme, which mode was also done by KLM on their 200s and was default at the 747-300 and 400.
I am an Indonesian, playing this on my ps 2 in 2004 during my elementary school without knowing a single Japanese word. Jet de go franchise really filled up my childhood. I miss that time.

I love how you control the throttle not to be Max while on cruise. You found the balance in 60-70%. The take off should not be from 0 - 73 - 100. Instead, 0 - 30 - 70. But this game has "hidden" line on runway, I presume if you passed the line and yet lifted, it will lower your score. Excellent flight!
i never played the sequel, only the original one... and i always pretended to drive the plane to enter taxiway after it landed although the off-course alert would sound up, and the game ended with runway over-ran 😅glad they improved that on the sequel.. 😁
I have a version of this game for Gameboy. It’s funny how a lot of things sort of appear in its own way. The flight schedule, the background talking, selecting the type of aircraft. But this of course is much better looking

Ahh, 13 years ago I played this, although I don't understand Japanese but I enjoyed it so much, the graphics is king of its time.

For a consoles yes this was ahead of its time but remember Microsoft Flight Simulator 00 and 02 came out around that time for PC.

What a chill game. As an aviator, it warms my heart to read that so many were inspired to actual aviation careers from this game.

I was playing this on PS2 with my friend around 2008, this game is one of my core memories
I played this game decades ago, one of my favourite aircraft was B737-400,
Now i'm actually rated on B737-300/400/500, thanks to this inspiring game ❤

毎日本物乗ってて草
１の方が短時間で遊びやすいです。コックピット画面での操作も1の方が操作しやすいですね。しかし、2は映像がリアルです。
