Hey Colt I was wondering if the name Paul Miller was Familiar to you? He used to live and work around there in FARMINGTON and was a TOP NOTCH AUTO BODY WORKER AND PAINTER. Also done Motorcycles as well. I knew a guy whom took a Yugo ( CAR ) and set it directly down on top of an mid 80's model jeep. It was an AWESOME MACHINE. HOPING THE RACER PACER IS GOING TO BE MORE THAN AWESOME AND EVEN MORE THAN AMAZING.
Challenger lift guys should give you a lift too. I keep seeing they give lifts to other youtubers... why not you? You help people more than most. You deserve it!!
I wasn't sure that I would like this project, but I'm really getting drawn into it. Can not wait to see what you do with this "Girth Mobile" or "Racer Pacer"
Suspension's gone! I'm shocked! Girth Mobile is perfect. Not only is it gonna be a chonky pacer, you and Rory are probably the two biggest dudes in the comp.
Colt really like that s 10 man it’s a beast I’m telling you, but from the looks of it. You’re building another beast in the pacer you and Rory have a great day man. And 29:29 Good luck.
The funnel holder/drain system is one of the coolest ideas ever! I am looking forward to building one for myself and a friend who built a garage on his property.
Fun and informative. Funnel holder/drain is brilliant! Maybe you should buy a supply of "coltbuildsit" green bandanas to use as sweatbands to keep sweat out of your eyes. They would be cooler temperature wise when you are working out of the sun than a hat. You will definitely rock the look. 🙂 I like the name Girth Mobile.
@@coltbuildsit I wouldn't miss them. Now that you have your own channel and with the move to New Mexico, love how you are getting around to all the other channels, helping them out and having fun. Also having your wife and son in the video's. Just made a content creator more wholesome in my opinion.
I'm really enjoying this build. The look of this Racer Pacer is starting to come together & just looks right, kinda how the MORRvair is now. Also really like the Trail Builds It Team
Just watched puddin put a Mercedes on a blazer frame in 3 days of work. He's just building a toy and not as picky. Looking good and can't wait to see finished product!!
When I was younger, after the switch from oil cans to plastic quarts we drilled holes in a long (mostly) horizontal pipe and put the quart jugs and funnels to capture every last bit of oil. The pipe had a slight downhill slope to a five-gallon bucket that had a spigot. That oil was used for the lawnmowers or oilers. Cole built himself a tree that looks like the one the wine drinkers make out of their old bottles.
Love the build that all I drove was AMC cars & jeeps & grimlin with 401 in it can't wait to see it done & on the trail it's going to be a beast just like all the rest of your builds
So glad you didn't leave the frame like 6" below the body like those trars. I always hated how much space there was between the body and frame on those. Loving this build! Keep on keep'n on man!
I love how down to earth you two are. Liking the channel and can't wait until you get the shop together and keep up with the builds. I really enjoy builds that can be done on a budget as opposed to hanging 40k worth of axles and suspension on a rig.
You should call the Pacer , The Robin egg 🥚 it's the same color as a Robin egg. You can get alot of your peeps in the Pacer. Keep up the great work and God Bless you guys and your families .😊👍
That drain idea is oretty sweet. It beats my coffee can of funnels by a mile. And i think i have enough off cuts to make that happen without a trip to the hardware store.
Great video Colt, lots of more secret shop tips, that no one take the time nor thought to help educate people. As always enjoy your videos. Hope to see you At 4 corners week.
White boards help you stay on track and knock stuff out. The funnel tree is a great idea, i have one in my shop except it drains into a 55-gallon drum with all my waste oil.
Wow Colt, loved this video! A four-wheel drive AMC Pacer? That's an easy subscription! Keep the content coming brother. I hope to meet you someday when I get out that way.
Colt, I have an awesome project that I'm not sure I will ever get done. I'd be open to selling it to the right person. I would only give it up to someone that will do it right. 74 F100 short box 4x4. Body work is done. Zero rust. Motor is done. 390 FE with lots of goodies. NP435 4 speed and NP205 t case. Needs 1 tons under it, reassembled and painted.
Wow you're SERIOUS about your PVC. I don't even bother priming for irrigation line and it's never leaked. Also I think you've already named it the Girth mobile. Party time! Excellent!!
I had a Lloyd Alexander TS which was a little foreign car that needed undercoating. My father was the commanding officer of a U.S. Coast Guard base where a contractor was putting in a steel sea wall. To preserve the steel, they were coating it with a tar mastic material. My father brought home a coffee can full and I brushed it on the underside of the car. I never had any problem with rust and we were living on the East coast of Florida.
With the short- control arm mount relocation kit & approximately 4 inch lift, my upper arms are actually angled up to the differential and my lower arms are parallel with the ground. It moves the mounting bolts 4 inches down from the original, giving it a factory ride. On a low budget, it's a no brainier.
Suggestion for this episode, for what it's worth. You have a lot of various topics that would make worthwhile videos on their own. Those of us that regularly follow you get to see them, but they individually aren't searchable on TH-cam. I personally do a lot of TH-cam searches for repairs that I haven't done before. The S10 window repair is an example that could be beneficial on its own if it was a title description that would appear in a search. I really enjoy your channel, keep up the good work.
The best thing to get those window crank handles off is an old oil dipstick. Bend it around 12” down from the handle and cut it at the bend so it’s a really sharp J… or an L would be more accurate. You want to leave just enough of that Bend to catch the clip and no more
Wow really like the long videos Colt ,and man that funnel holder is pure AWESOME. Im going to build one for my shop. Thanks for the RAD video bro can't wait for the next one.
My much Simpler funnel fix : is stuff shop towel in large side push it into funnel so it holds then store large side down drains into towel ready to use next time! cost almost nothing!
1 thing i learnt about the arms with short or long is the 1 handed broom trick. Push a broom with 1 hand from half way and from the end and what your arms feel is the same as the chassis feels basically kinda
Just a couple of things about the Warn Which. If it still has the rating plate on the winch you might look because the winch I bought in the early 1970’s was rated at 8,000 lbs VERTICAL lift. They did a commercial in the 70’s where they hung a GMC Jimmy from a tree. You might check if you’re replacing the relay’s for the winch, I believe that they are continuous duty and not starter relays.
I've found a good idea on the winch is to wire it with an anderson plug makes it eater to remove if you need to answer if you have an issue with it on the trail like it starts to short out you can un plug it quickly!
58:46 good start to the explanation, but the longer explanation has to do with the arc length of the arc swing on the long arm. Because the arc length is longer, when the wheel travels upward, the arm is extending FORWARD by a shorter distance than the short arm would because the short arm is rotated further down in its arc swing for the same height difference.
I have a 350/700r4 to orion in my FJ40, I keep destroying the stock gm trans mount. I really like how you can explain how and why you do certain stuff. Been looking for another trans mount, and low and behold there it is. The square one you just showed will work excellent after I rework the mount brace. I watched all of season 1 of the ONx build, this year is shaping up to be better.
Yup, Girth it is. I love watching you work on your projects and with Shana and Ian. It is GREAT that they both want to get involved. @Challangerlift You bumss......
Nice funnel drain. I just screwed a 5 gal bucket to the wall and throw all of my funnels in it. Funnels drain in the bucket, and I'm only limited to the amount of funnels that I can cram in 😀
They used to have a commercial back in the day about the pacer that said it’s too wide! I think they were referring to the inside of the pacer all the room it had!

Glad you like them and the funnel holder!

Funnels; 5 gallon bucket with lid, holes drilled for each funnel.
then use the oil "drip" for things like chains..etc.
Love the funnel tree. Clever.
I liked the Racer-Pacer name although that hind side is pretty girthy...
Hopefully no wrecks caused by drivers gawking at the Pacer as you were hauling it.
Great info on the long arms. Thanks! keep up the great build.

Superglue and baking soda works well for rebuilding plastic tabs or re enforcement on something before it breaks.
Add a big funnel at the top . Place oil containers in it to drain .
