This is seriously impressive! And honestly I quite like the covered walkways, that's a cool way to get around the console's limitations. The team who ported this must be literal wizards, massive props to them for pulling this off!
WB can't get enough props for taking a massively popular IP and making a complete game with no live service BS or microtransactions attached to it. They also took the time and care to make sure every version is a proper version of the game. I wish more games had the care and attention put in to them like WB did Hogwarts.
Ya, it's astonishing how poorly made scarlet/violet was on release and to this day , it hasn't received any update that has really fixed anything dramatically at all. Hogwarts is of course best showcased on new Gen hardware , but this Switch version alone should be given an award. The team that did it should be awarded for making it work
Honestly, this is nothing short of a miracle. Such massive game running natively on such old hardware is really impressive. When played on the small screen it should be looking alright.

Although the game somewhere felt incomplete because of all the mechanics introduced in the first hours that felt somewhat ignored later (like choices of companions, curfew, etc.) the world building was extremely good and the overall experience aswell. I've had a lot of fun with this game and still play it from time to time: the combat system is funny and satisfying, the mounts are amazing and the overall aesthetic is original and pleasing. Too bad that some hurt ass, psychotic activists felt the need to boycott this product, like anythig else tied to JK Rowling, to the point that now even the game awards look like a joke because they clearly are boycotting this product in fear of being in the middle of some sort of made up "scandal".
I bought the switch specifically to play this game because I played on my cousins ps5 and loved it. A little disappointed it isn’t as good but I’m very happy I got to play at all since I’m not an avid gamer (got my first console 3 months ago)

Personally I was pretty bumped about the quality on the switch. A lot of patterns or surroundings are pixelated and the hair on characters always seems to glitch. I have been playing skyrim for some time now and the graphics om there look a lot better! I wonder why they kept the quality for Hogwarts Legacy so low..

No handheld footage at all? Otherwise an awesome video and breakdown. I've got it on my Steam Deck so I'm not double-dipping but its really cool and impressive what they've done here and it'll potentially get them a LOT more sales of the game.

There was a version for every popular console, even DS/PSP/GBA, and obviously the wii, being a much less powerful system, would get watered down versions of games, or sometimes even completely alternate versions. It’s all about selling the most copies
Millions of Switch players only own....a Switch. I have young children, when I'm taking them to various activities, I see other young kids packing along a Switch. I'm sure WB figured a Switch port might net a profit, so they went to the devs and requested to see if it could be done and the devs were up to the challenge. Alot of younger children could care less about graphics (Minecraft, Roblox, Fortnite to name a few), especially since high graphics games these days tend to suck.

Bad analogy. Old man Switch has beaten both rivals in terms of sales. Switch has outsold PS4 by 13million so far which puts it 3rd overall bestselling console. Just fyi the corridors between hogwarts sections was first introduced for the PS4/Xbox One versions, and is thus not unique to the Switch version.

You can’t compare it with Xbox version. It would have been more fair to compare it with a Steam Deck or Lenovo Legion or ROG Ally.
