How's the forester going? Noticed in the comments I'm not the only one interested. For someone who said it's hard to get motivated sometimes, I think you're doing pretty good. Working outside and in those conditions fair effort bro👍👍
Nice work! But a short walk around video would be nice!! After spending a lot of time watching all of the build videos... I am like, WHAT??!!!!!! NO WALK AROUND??!!!!!! 38k views of this episode to this date... don't you think people were looking for a walk around??
what a cool project. I would like to see another episode. Also a big Subaru emblem below the rear window would look good. Good luck to you and thank you for making the videos
I stumbled onto your channel yesterday while searching for small SUV to UTV conversions. You do a good job with everything. I’m really surprised you don’t have more subscribers. You’re obviously very talented.
You may have had this comment before but Subaru exported to Australia a small truck in the late 70’s to mid 80’s. This small truck was called a Subaru brumby. A brumby is a feral horse in Australia so your small truck could be called a Subaru Mustang.
Good to see/drive up on ya again in traffic the other day! I promise, I'm not *that* much of an a-hole driver. Can't believe I wasn't subscribed! I'm looking forward to the next video and the next mid-commute meetup!
Just discovered your work on this, hope you managed finish it right. If you had trouble editing and uploading that's understandable. Whatewer great skill for home made metal work, minding about water was great as the Forester was not intended for this 👍 Congrats 👏
Nice work so far man, can't wait to see it all buttoned up! You're giving me motivation to finally pull the trigger on doing this with my Gen 1 Forester.
I feel the pain on the tarp style shed getting taken out, I've had 4 of them wiped out by wind, i finally ended up getting one wrapped in metal siding, and built a shed out of pallets and house wrap
8:57 that front just looks like a truck, god seeing it in primer this thing would have looked amazing white, and the bumpers/trim done up with that bedliner material also in another video you wondered about the curve on your extended cab window 20:30, what would look good is if you grabbed a plastic sail panal off an 08 impreza's back door window
When you’re blocking or sanding and your paper is loading up, you can use a Scotch-Brite pad and rub it across that and it’ll take most of that junk off of there. If you don’t have a Scotch-Brite pad handy use a piece of welding rod or metal coat hanger, and make a slapper About as long as your sand block,j when the block gets full of sand crud turn it over and just slap it a couple times with that piece of welding rod, coathanger, and most all of the clogging will fall off the ground
Pretty good work overall + kudos on doing it with TiG. I’m not sure why you didn’t box in the top of the bedsides with square tube while in the construction stage. Also I don’t know anything about frame structure on a Subaru, but most likely unibody - I would think the first step is constructing a sturdy framework from roof to rear suspension area to replace all the roof structure that was removed. Could you do another update video at 6 mo or a year to review how everything held up? I’m curious on the rustoleum paint too - in my experience, it never lasted longer than a year or so, especially in cold weather. Also, it usually doesn’t adhere to plastic for nothing…
Thanks! You are pretty spot on, I agree that method of making the bed would have been more structurally sound but I wanted to work with the geometry of the Subaru without adding more than needed. Also the Rustoleum chalked up pretty quickly and is flaking on the front grille (plastic), also the bed but I am pretty rough with it. The project is holding up well overall, has been my daily for quite some time. Waterproofing the bed definitely needs addressed but I have some ideas. I will post a video when I get the motivation to edit.
In Canada, that vehicle would not be allowed back on the road legally. Structural changes would need to be verified by an automotive engineer and they would not be willing to sign off on it because if that car ever got in an accident with fatalities, he would have to be held responsible !!!
Where’s the finished truck. You are so talented and the work ethic is top notch. Do we get to see your final result.
I seen all the episodes

Thanks, and thanks for the motivation to edit! SFs are cool too!
Keep going man!
Bro! I lke your work. Please finish the truck and please show us what you di! Thanks
Fusing the rear doors to the body should bring back a lot of chassis strength lost from the rear roof and C-pillars. Neat project.
I feel the pain on the tarp style shed getting taken out, I've had 4 of them wiped out by wind, i finally ended up getting one wrapped in metal siding, and built a shed out of pallets and house wrap
Yeah, I have thought about that but I've been trying to get a building with concrete. Hopefully that pans out this year.
@scrapmetalmade a concrete floor would be an absolute dream to work with, hope to see you get one built, it would be a game changer
@@scrapmetalmade ey bro where did you go? We all wanna see the finished truck!
Looks amazing ❤
Great work done, especially all the fore-thought put into it ! Congrats, hope it all works out !😎👍✌🇨🇦

Is there another video coming bud? I just discovered your videos tonight and now i want to see more. Im intrigued
Muito bom da vontade de fazer um
Any more updates on the Subaru? Awesome job!
Give us an update man!🍻
Aint nothing like preping and painting except if you run into problem
I did this with an 89 S-10 Blazer in 94. Except I made the top removable.

YOU HAVE STARTED FROM THE ICE AGE AND COME UNTIL TODAY, YOU NEED TO CONGRATULATE!! WHAT KIND OF WORKMANSHIP, WHAT KIND OF SELF-CONFIDENCE IS THIS?
Makes me wonder why Subaru didn’t continue their Ute line
Because they just weren't selling

Anyone else feeling a STI Ute?
I came in late on this rodeo, is it Finnish?

Yeah and calling a man in a dress: a man in a dress, is a hate crime. Canada is F@cked
