I've been restoring vehicles for 30 years. Several, the floors were rusted out and completely gone. I use street signs and "Tiger's Hair" ( epoxy with fiberglass in it). Super strong ( I literally jumped up and down on them and they held). Make a great cover.

Same issue with my wifes 2009 CTS. Raw gas fumes around the car and inside. Took it to a highly recommended retired GM mechanics shop and was told to take it to a dealer for a low pressure leak. The top of the gas tank was damp. When I asked if it was safe for her to drive back home from where she was, 380 miles away, their reply...." AS LONG AS NOBODY SMOKES AROUND IT." GM needs to correct this issue and compensate every CTS owner for their POS design. The car sputters upon start if it starts at all even with a full tank of gas. We will be tackling this project ourselves.

This video was really helpful although I did struggle a lot. So learn from my problems. Follow the video up until removing the ring on the pump. I didn’t have the right tool, after many hours of struggling I bought vice pliers that has a hoop to tighten the grip. Basically clamp the pliers to and edge of the ring and the bracket that holds the ring. Then I used a screw driver through the ring to pop off the ring and got it off the groove it stay in.
I also bought a $20 solder. Ones that look like a flathead. After it was all dried (do not let it dry in the sun, for some reason the gas kept appearing all over the plastic elbow ...) I used the solder to melt and reseal the surface of the entire elbow. Do not use JB weld cause it’s like clay when it it dries so the gas started leaking after a month the first time I used JB weld. Use Devcon Plastic epoxy that is fuel resistant (it says it on there) I applied it on the entire elbow, except where the hose connects. It actually level out with the shape and doesn’t drip. It dried up hard smooth. Haven’t had issues since

I’m having the same problem on my V. I sealed the elbow but now the leak is coming from the quick connect.

The same thing is happening with my 2009 CTS. Unfortunately, I have to pay someone for this repair since I don't have the skill set to replace this myself. If anyone from Cadillac is reading this: Why in the HELL would you design a car that requires the owner to go through this on a part you know is going to fail??? Couldn't you put the part in trunk somewhere as opposed to under the dad burn seat??? Whomever designed this needs a real good beat down! And don't even get me started on the person who designed the CTS where you have to remove the bumper just to change the damn headlight!!!
