Video was clear and precise. Very informative. Takes the guess work, out of the process, and adds confidence to replacing, my fuel pump. Thank you . and keep up the good work.
God bless you for doing it the "right way" . But after seeing what's involved, I think when the time comes, I'm cutting a hole in the back floor! Lol. Just too many years of working on the ground.
Big props to you for the video. I Cut a hole and was done on 20 mins. There are companies that make a cover panel to cover the hole. I figured this isn't a collectable car and the hole isn't going to decrease the value of the car.
Great video my friend Big Ups to you I am not a mechanic however and I had to drop my tank replace the fuel pump in the tank because the tank had a hole in it I did have the use of a lift but like I said no mechanic experience just from watching your video and follow me step-by-step I was able to complete this procedure and get my car fixed today thanks again good job on the video
Now I know why my dealer is charging me thousands of $$ right now to replace my 2010 CTS fuel pump!! What a job! Why did Cadillac neglect to make an access panel for the pump? The designers should be FIRED! Bad engineering!!
This was SO! Helpful! My Cadillac dts 2010 has a really rusty fastener and putting it back in after installing the new pump is nearly impossible. Do you have any suggestions or ideas on why it won’t go down enough to fit into the clips?
Actually, that is the proper direction according to the rotor manufacturer. I know cuz i installed a set on my CTS not too long ago...the slots are always supposed to 'cut' towards the front of the vehicle for best braking performance but it does wear out the pads faster...when people install them backwards they will still dissipate heat just fine but they won't grab as hard and the pads will also last longer...
Everyone is asking this question but no one gives a solid answer, some say inside the fuel tank some say underneath passenger behind front wheel.. my mechanic said mine was integrated within the fuel talk so left me thinking if it's there does that mean someone would have to do all this just to change a $10 fuel filter that's crazy
Fuel filter is on the passenger side of the underbody right in front of the back passenger side wheel on the frame you can't miss it it's a little metal Silver canister with fuel lines running to and from it very easy to change
@@robertmartin9135wait what? I went to do a tune on my 08 CTS and I was there throughout the whole process and my mechanic told me my fuel filter is integrated within the fuel pump.. so told me to take it back and return it to get my money. So left me thinking if that was the case that would mean you would have to do all this process to change it.. so is it inside the fuel pump or is it in the front by the passenger side? 🤔
@@robertmartin9135 is that for all 08-13 CTS? Cause I've seen people on different videos post comments as well some say integrated and you the first one I see says it's in the front.
Yes you can it is pretty simple you just have to make sure that you do not puncture the tank like I did and then I had to drop the tank anyways to replace the gas tank if you can do it without damaging anything is great and we'll save you a lot of work however if you are like me and don't know much about it and just go from the video you watch more than likely unless you're lucky you may break something or puncture something or cut a fuel line then you will be worse off than you were in the first place I would recommend dropping the tank and doing it correctly if you have the ability to do so if not then go ahead with cutting the whole I did it myself but like I said after it was all said and done I had to drop the tank anyways cuz I pump shoot the tank while cutting the hole

There's already a rubber gasket in the trunk to get to it
@@NickFarrowis that for the coupe as well?

How much? 😮
Just cut a hole in metal under back seats to access pump.

Thanks for the clip, would you recommend a pump made in China?
the design on the car in the beginning 😂😂
Thank you for the eye opening ; prefer this method over the back seat hole in my 2006 srx
Great job. But i did notice the rotors were not installed in the proper direction. you might want to swap the rotors.

100%… explained perfectly.
Thank you guys very well explained
Very well done!
Where is the fuel filter located i can't find it I have a 2009 Cadillac CTS 3.6 AWD...
It only has the sock on the pump
Wow i was almost there. Thank u so much".
Aye bro is the fuel filter built in the fuel pump cause i never can find any info on were the fuel filter is at in a caddy 08-13
Yes, it is on the 2nd gens.
Is it in the fuel pump or inside the tank?

Can you access this from the back seats without bringing the tank down? What are the possibilities of just the electrical going bad?
Flavio Hernandez Yes you can, but you would have to cut a hole which is what most people do

Great job but i have noticed at 0:02 someone didn't appreciate your work and mada big dick on the door all the way to the fender
does anyone know where a fuel filter goes in a 09 cts
it is integrated into the fuel pump sending unit he is replacing in this video
What about an 08 CTS? Is it really inside the fuel pump? If so does that mean I have to replace the whole thing or what
