I listened to this many times with my father as he was dying in hospital, it is my happiest memory of a sad time, watching my dad rock his feet to the music ❤
Not Welsh, but from NE England mining village. Now 56 and remember dad had "we all had doctors papers" in the 70s and we played it constantly. Happy memories of Max, sound of my childhood. :)
'National treasure' is an overused term, but Max Boyce is truly a wonderful wonderful talent that makes me proud to be from where he is from. Da iawn Max, a chadw ati. Mae pawb eisiau dy weld ti eto... please!
Hi Geraint. Is this you, my dear brother? It reads very much like how you express yourself. Jason 😏 Ps. If its not you... Then... "It is what it is..." Isn't it?! 😂
He must go down as one of the Welsh greats. He is part of the Welsh legend and Welsh team. His songs rang out at any Welsh game and was probably the biggest boost a Welsh team could have.
Absolutely LOVE this, but the closed captioning is a comedy routine in itself! ;-) Blaunau Ffestiniog and the names of the two boys from there - priceless!
I never rated max untill i met him we were working on the water mains and used glynneath rugby ground where max lived as our depot in 2001 ive worked all over the the world and i told max loads of jokes ‘i can honestly say ive never met such a nicer bloke and a genuine guy ‘ i wish him all the best
Max Boyce is a bleeding Welsh legend,,,,my ol departed mother in law was WELSH,, always said if i wasn't Irish, I'd want to be Scottish, Welsh or RUSSIAN.
This man is a lyrical genius. So funny. Has given millions of people millions of hours of pleasure over the years. The song for the Rome trip is hilarious.
Not to boast but the reason he mentions my lovely home village of gilfach goch in hymns and Arias was because my dad asked him to talk to my mam on the phone while he was flying to Scotland for the Wales Scotland game and he called my dad evil for leaving my mam home while she was ill. We still have the match ticket he signed with a message for my mam too
I wondered who was his partner. When my Uncle (who lives in Wales) was told that Boyce is homosexual he replied Odd. I didn't think the Taffs went in for that kind of thing!
Being from The Valleys, all of our family also loved Max! When we saw him live, and one of the songs on the show was "Don't MOT my Cortina" we all laughed - but dad's Cortina failed it's MOT the following week!
Max is fantastic but Being an irish person, I often wonder why a song was never written about a trip to Dublin to see Wales play in the 5 or 6 nations at Landsdowne Road 😅
@trogwallaby ah yes i am an entertainer . he tells a good story about that song in his book hymns and arias . I was thinking more of a song about a match in Dublin but you are perfectly right .

Kindred spirits. Get your DNA checked. I did, 70% Welsh.👍👍
Max is long overdue for a knighthood, it should be arise Sir Max. I first heard him in 1972, and he has only got better. Respect from an English man.
You are so correct and I'm English! Max brought sheer joy to me and my family. My old Dad loved Max's humour and do I. All the best Max.
Get yea...but Welsh, Irish and Scottish shouldn't take english medals
Fair play we can all relate to him in so many ways.... with the way he words things.. .. I seen him twice and loved it ... today is the 15.12.2023 🍺🍺👍
Love this man. A South African living in New Zealand!
'National treasure' is an overused term, but Max Boyce is truly a wonderful wonderful talent that makes me proud to be from where he is from.

Absolutely LOVE this, but the closed captioning is a comedy routine in itself! ;-) Blaunau Ffestiniog and the names of the two boys from there - priceless!
I have never used the closed captioning. Thank you so much for pointing this out - it is absolutely another level of comedy!

We adore Max in our family, I think every female in our house was in love with him in his heyday. Me included. Gorgeous bloke! Xxx
I laughed and laughed but I cried when Max sang Duw it's hard
Schickt mehr Max Boyce CD's!

" How can you have a friendly against England ? " 😂😂😂😂
Many irish rugby fans feel the same!
Absolute legend. ⭐️
Absolutley incredible.....
Proud to be Welsh
Should be Sir Max
Not to boast but the reason he mentions my lovely home village of gilfach goch in hymns and Arias was because my dad asked him to talk to my mam on the phone while he was flying to Scotland for the Wales Scotland game and he called my dad evil for leaving my mam home while she was ill. We love you. When will he be made Sir Max Eileen
"Duw It's Hard" is a masterpiece.
What an amazing man.!
I’m English as they come, but this bloke is a genius. Max is Wales’ 16th man! He is the ultimate rugby supporter…
Bradford Northern Spies.... F***8ing funny as f***.... I love it and I live less than 1/2 mile from Bradford Northern (BULLS) as they are called now.
05:59 - Simon West in the audice.
still one of the best
500 billions years!! And I got there too late!
Absolute legend
Love him.
Did anyone get the documentary that was made at the same time as this called the road to treorchy?
And do not forget poor Robert jones... He has to go to Aberaeron to remember Who He is....x
14:10 is this not the same sound of "Green green grass of Home" by Tom Jones?
I'm I just uninformed and maybe it was done on purpose?
I love max boyce
I wondered who was his partner. When my Uncle (who lives in Wales) was told that Boyce is homosexual he replied Odd. I didn't think the Taffs went in for that kind of thing!
I was brought up on Max , My mum and dad loved him , but being Welsh no surprises .
Being from The Valleys, all of our family also loved Max! When we saw him live, and one of the songs on the show was "Don't MOT my Cortina" we all laughed - but dad's Cortina failed it's MOT the following week!
@@trogwallaby as an 18yr old who’s family are from the valleys, I’m happy i was introduced to max
Good Welsh comediene & singer.oggi oggi oggi oi oi oi
All i can say is OGGY OGGY OGGY
Max is fantastic but Being an irish person, I often wonder why a song was never written about a trip to Dublin to see Wales play in the 5 or 6 nations at Landsdowne Road 😅
He did do a bit in one of his pieces where he was supporting the Sunshine Home in Dublin - "for blind Irish referees"!
@trogwallaby ah yes i am an entertainer . he tells a good story about that song in his book hymns and arias . I was thinking more of a song about a match in Dublin but you are perfectly right .
Why did he start with a Russian folk song?
It was "Sosban Fach", a Welsh folk song. I see what you mean though, it sounds straight from the Red Army Choir in this version!
@@will4718
Yeah, I knew! I forgot the winky emoji.
Diawn
😂
So parochial. I found him as funny as a Welsh victory over England.
Always picking on Gilfach….. 😂
I have never rated him; he talks and sings pure 🌽.
very limited entertainer. He has very small repertoire of songs
What is the point of the guitar, it can't be heard over the orchestra. He seems to be just strumming it
Not a lot of response to your trolling eh Mike mate. 👍 🏴
@@mikewalsh6168 Isn't that the way 99.9% of so called musicians play?
mike walsh. What a tool you are. 😁
Ha.........you don'thave a clue.
