Low tuning rips, when you're discussing the bearing edges, that one fill reminds of Daft Punk's Robot Rock? Amongst a million other awesome things. Great video!
Yeah love the low tuning on this kit, think I was channelling some Dave Grohl Queens of The Stone Age at that point haha. I do love Daft Punk too though! Thanks for watching!
Hi! Nice review - I own a player date 1 since 2010 - I love this kit. I only play this one, very versatile ! Personally I never had any problem with the C&C snare throw-off in ten years of using it ! Great sounding drums ! Very light as well, which is really a plus. You're right about the long lugs, some are a bit bent on floor toms and kick drum, due to lots of touring. The chrome isn't the thickest neither, tends to rust a bit but I live near the sea and that's hard on the metal (my car rusts fast as hell as well) I miss only a good heavy Ludwig kit now and I will have every situation covered
Thanks for watching man! Glad to hear the throw off hasn’t caused you any issues! Yeah, good point about how light the drums are as well, very easy to move around for sure. I would also definitely love Ludwig, why do we always just want more drums dammit! Love it man!
Haha! Always an important factor. Some drum historians and sound scientists have claimed it can truly make a difference to your drum kit’s well being 😂
Playing live with a loud band, have you ever found these to be lacking in projection? Ever try them with clear Emperors? I've been putting off getting a PDI or PDII because I'm concerned I'd be losing too much volume and cut compared to my Starclassic Maple kit. Oh, and excellent video, by the way, the kit sounds incredible and complements your playing (and vice versa) very well.
I’ve not tried them with clear Emperors actually, would be cool to try it out. But I’ve never had a problem with the PD1 live either and although the track in this video is softer, my band do have some more heavier Biffy Clyro-esque sounding tracks and it still does the job. Volume wouldn’t be an issue it’s just a very different sound to something like the Starclassic Maple - which is going to give you a much more modern sound. I actually used to have a Starclassic as well, loved it! Thanks for the kind words and for checking out the video too! Hoping to put together more videos soon 👍🏻
It’s a song called ‘Take You To The Animals’ by my band Stealing Signs We haven’t actually released that song yet but we will be very soon! You can check out more of our stuff on Spotify though 👍🏻 Glad you were digging it!
The record release was delayed because of covid but should be out early this year. But the band is called Stealing Signs and we released a few singles from the album called ‘The Coast’ and ‘Arcadia’ which are on Spotify to check out here: open.spotify.com/album/3231dTlubGnuUuCKRg9saz?si=n5evkoDYQamxuOlRcWRkgA
Nice! Have you managed to order successfully through those avenues to the UK? I originally went to C&C Europe for a player date I but they couldn’t provide me with one and could only offer the Player Date Europe kit. Then I went to C&C US via Rusty Drums but my original order and finish just kept on getting pushed back further and further because of the demand being so high. In the end that meant to get a player date I in time for my recording I had to go 2nd hand.
Love C&C. I own a PD1, PD2, and Maple/Gum.
One of the best vintage drum sounds I ever heard.

Love it man!
They definitely sound mellow. I prefer a pretty sharp bearing edge myself as opposed to a full contact bearing edge, but these sound nice.
Great in depth review!
Much appreciated, thanks for checking it out mate! Hoping to drop a few more review videos soon.
Can that really use a high and mid tom
I love those
Love the smell test mate 😂

@@WillDrumsDaly Right on. What's the shell of your snare drum? Player date as well?
What year was your set made?
Classic sizes equals classic sounds!
You have C&C US, C&C Europe and C&C Australia. But if your in Europe, look at it like it's a cutom shop. Drums built to order.

@@WillDrumsDaly Don't live in the UK. I live in Sweden. Strange that you only could get the PDE.
@@ttolle8 Sweet! Do you play a C&C kit?
@@WillDrumsDaly Not yet. I'm in the process of saving up to a kit 🙂
16” bass drum??? Sounds fat! Love the low tuning on this!
Apologies that was a typo in the description (thanks for pointing it out) it’s a 22x14 Bass drum
Please tune that snare
C AND C!!! Not CC… have you not read the badge!?!
