@@MrBenzcdi Hi Graca, sorry I just saw your questions. I connect the yamaha module to a midi audio interface (Steinberg) to my Laptop (Dell i5). A mac is a better option if possible.
You can also plug in your usb midi cable directly into your computer and use something like ASIO4ALL (a free software) for an acceptable latency. It's a viable option for many setups once you find the right settings.
The drum software expands your sounds yes, but mostly it sounds and plays miles better. Addictive Drums 2, EZ drummer, Superior Drummer 3, etc.
Some have a standalone version, while others require a DAW to run. You'll need a tutorial or two. I suggest you check out the 65 Drums channel. Good luck, have fun!

I bought the TD1. But I upgraded the module to the TD 11. The problem with the TD1.Besides you can’t really edit the drums. The bleed through for triggering is annoying. Even if you adjust the sensitivity. The pads are great and the symbols rock pretty good the pedals work really good. Just upgrade the module. The T 11 takes the same cable. So you don’t have to change that except for the extra crash doesn’t work.

Hi, you seem very well informed so I need your advice. I've been dreaming of playing the drums since forever but never thought it could be possible in an apartment. Now, at 37 after finding about E drums, I play them every day and my dream came true but... I have the Alesis Command Mesh kit since January. The problem that I have is that during a song from the module or the usb, or just solo playing the drums, from 5-10 strokes, on the Ride, simultaneously with the kick, in one or two times the Ride is mute, it doesn't make the sound. It doesn't happen if I hit only the ride, but only if I play the drums. It's like the module freezes sometimes at the Ride not being able to play it among other elements or together with the kick or something. It's not chaotic, it's almost like the clock, like it has never miss trigger two times consecutively which makes me exclude mechanical and think of soft bug. Things I've done: reset All to factory settings, Reset only the voices, reset only triggers, check the Ride's plug, changed the ride with the crash. The problem is still at the ride. So it's not the cymbal. Version is V 1.0.3 and there isn't another version on Alesis website. I've wrote Alesis a week ago, no answer. Any ideas? Thank you very much!

Now, im a total noob in drumming, wanting to start with drumming some day soon.
Are there any actual experienced drummers here, which could give me a accurate choice as to which of these sets here sound and also plays (responsive ??) the best.
As a total noob, the last one (Tourtech tt-22m) looks pretty good... as it also has the most acoustiv ''feel'' to it as he says. But when it comes to the actual sounds and responsiveness, is it the best too? Would really appreciate some adive from veteran drummers here ;D
Also, when we're at it... lets say I buy one of those kits... am I ready to just start as soon as they arrive... or do I need to buy 204892 Extras first, before actually having everything I really need.

Tried and had most or similar to every one of these kits for practice at home over 20+ years and currently have the last model, wich is without a doubt the best one. It feels and plays much closer to an acoustic kit and having an actual bass pedal makes a massive difference, your never going to be able to learn bass control properly without having an actual pedal. It's a good solid kit, hope that helps.

In my opinion even some of the more advanced Roland and Yamaha sounds, sound terrible. I'd just buy something that triggers well, i.e doesn't skip hits when you hit the kick, snare and hi-hat at the same time, then just run the drum module through a laptop with EZ Drummer or some other software. Even the basic kits with EZ Drummer sound 100 times better than what you'll find in these drum modules. One great sounding kit makes it much more worth it than some gimmick with 50 kits, where you won't even use 45 of them..lol

    • @wyliehutch5773

I feel like this is the idea that companies need to embrace when they make their electronic kit. Don't have much cash to engineer the drum samples? Make them trigger well. You'll sell out of kits.

@@ArtSharky The thing with drums everyone has their own opinions on what sounds good.
It's kind of like food or music taste. Every opinion can be different.
Some love Roland, some prefer Yamaha and others like Alesis or Simmons.
What I would do is talk to your boyfriend and let him know you are willing to buy one.
And then go around the stores with him to try them all out. Make sure the kit he looks at can cater to his music needs.
      What i actually did.
When i first started i bought the cheapest kit I could find ($250) because i was just a beginner (still am).
Then I realized due to the music i liked, i.e reggae, ska, etc i couldn't even do a rim shot as all my pads were only 1 zone each. My cymbals had no bell etc, but I always wanted to play a real drum kit but i knew they made a huge amount of noise. Then i started reading that you could make a hybrid kit. Basically it uses the electric module of an electric kit, but you actually connect it to your normal kit by using drum triggers. You then replace the normal drum heads with silent mesh heads. So when you now hit the drum, the trigger detects the hit, sends the signal to the electric module and sends the output to your headphones and if you wanted to hear them externally you can play them through an amplifier.
So after about a month of research. I went out, purchased a real acoustic kit. Purchased some silent heads and purchased drum triggers. I then just purchased a cheap Roland Electric Kit for the module to plug it all into. And then purchased electric cymbals. Even though I was sitting behind a normal kit, it still didn't sound like one very much. So i then ran the kit through a laptop into Drum software. The drum software uses studio recorded drum kits. It then started to sound like a real acoustic kit.
So now i have the best of both, when it's late at night i can use headphones, when it daytime and no ones home, i can use my amplifier and blast it :)
Hope this info helps somewhat. I'm actually still new to drums. Only about 2 years.
If you want more in depth info, i'd check with 65 Drums. He does a lot of reviews on electric kits for different price brackets.
