Hi guys, don’t usually check the videos, but someone sent me this one. Great job. Only comment, you were pretty right on with the 12th and vine. The edges actually aren’t dual 45’s. You brought up Ringo and the towel on the tom. Hilarious! These edges were first cut for Ringo’s second kit we built. His kit was maple poplar maple. But he wanted the kit to sound how the drums sound when you play the Let It Be Record. Which I think he recorded with tea towels on them. Anyway the 12th and Vine edge became that edge. Sound varies between woods in the line. But you made these sound quite nice. Thanks!
I use one of your kits at the church I work for and I love it! They all sound great but the kick drum really sounds amazing! Thanks for all your hard work!
I have seen a strange thing with C&C drums. They were a fast overnight trend for every 'indie' band to have from around 2008-2015.People seemed to really love them. Then it was like people started disliking them and they fell off the radar in quick fashion for some reason that I still don't know about. To me they always sounded really good and seemed to be rather cool drums.
C&C has to love this video. Dude clearly hated them all, even after saying otherwise. It was like he was fighting to say anything nice at all, and clearly couldn’t hide his disdain for the first kit.
@ 7:57 That is one of your best edit "shadings" to date. Laughed hard out loud. You BAD. Great discussion, good information, with a sense of humor. You really put together an excellent review, Tony.
What really gets me is how big and tonal they all sound with just the rooms mics. I've noticed on a lot of these videos that when they strip away the mix and give us a more 'raw' sound through just the room mics that a lot of the bigger drum company's sets sound kinda like oatmeal containers. To me quality drum set are those that sound phenomenal to the ear and in the mix.
Love how these are built here in Missouri! Definitely will get the 12th and Vine kit soon, not only for the amazing sound but to pay homage to this beautiful city that is home to the historic 18th and Vine Jazz district. Great videos as always guys, very informative and knowledgeable. Greetings from KCMO!
I own both Player Dates and love them. They feel like nothing else. Very vibey kits and not for everyone. Made in America is a plus. Bill and crew take great pride in what they release into the wild.
Coated PS3 or Renaissance PS3 with a Fiberskyn on the front will achieve this sound with pretty much any kick, but I do agree, I absolutely LOVE the slam these kicks have. I'm a big fan of C&C
I just bought the Cedar/Mahogany kit you guys had. Love it. I compared it to the 12th and Vine kit but I felt the Cedar kit had more bark to the attack. I didn't notice a huge difference in sustain but the 12th and Vine is definitely a punchy kit.
I LOVED!!!!! everyone of these kits!!!!!! Great looks, first off, and everyone sounded great even through my phone speakers, before I listened through headphones afterwards!!!! Can’t pick a favorite, I would be happy and proud to own any/ all of these great drum ensembles!! Thanks for the video... great as always... love watching... can’t wait for the next one!!! Kevin McM. @@bbeau2023 plenty of it. I like coated emperors on these with a moon gel on the rack tom and two on the floor tom. Kick has an EQ pad in it, and is tuned up just enough to resonate and still have plenty of punch. Playing everything on this so that setup works well.
That is something that I did not like about my Player Date II drum set. Drums are kind of dry, but just with the right amount of resonance for recording. However I couldn´t get those fat tones that I waas looking for, they sound great in medium to high tones. Thanks for your videos.
I cracked up at the part when he said he wasn't a jazz player (with the soft sad music) 😂 funny. Great player! Great sounding drums. Can individual add on drums be ordered through DCP? Thanks
great demonstration here. for the life of me i can't see what people love about these kits. they just sound dead and uninspiring, but i'm just getting to the player date 2 section... maybe they record really well due to the dearth of overtones. okay pd2 is definitely getting better. maybe i'm just not "cool" enough. i love you guys's videos though. thank you.
That's exactly what I thought of the 12th and Vine. Because of the quick sustain, it gets out of the way. It's exactly what you want from a recording set.
love the 12th & vine - do you think they'd do well in a live country setting with a few clean guitars / keys, or are they better suited for studio since they're not as open. Great video, thanks!
@@tinterlande I asked this question a few years back but I forgot the answer. Forgive me please 😬🙏🏾...What’s the interface/converter used to record your videos?
Adam Frost I was just playing along with the Drum Center. I figured they knew it wasn’t Ringo & were just being silly...At least I HOPE that’s what they were doing!
Just my opinion but the only thing I liked on these kits was the sound of all three base drums. That’s it. Not a fan of the look or style at all. But that’s just me. They didn’t wow me at all. They have a look like they are from Louisiana from the twenty’s. But that’s me. And my ear. And my eyes. Thanks for your videos you put out.
I think I like the maple. Just all around bigger sounding. But honestly C&C just isn't my bag, baby. I could see them being right for a select few situations but I like versatile drums and for this price ehhhhhhh, not for me.
Can you chill your mid-roll ads. Appreciate you gotta make money wherever you can in these tricky times but they are so obnoxious at the moment. Maybe it's just me. Always love the videos otherwise!
Wow zero sustain, not much life to any of them, even with the usual insane production you guys have. Kind of a bummer on all the kits. Just not my thing I guess. And I been curious to hear them.

Thanks so much Bill, and yeah I was trying to figure it out by eye... Definitely nailed the "Ringo" thing with the 12th & Vine!

C&C are probably the most underrated drum company out there (along with Canopus maybe). All three sets sound amazing and very distinct.
Shinici at Canopus is my favorite drum builder by far. We have been great friends for 30 years. Love and respect his work.

The C&C website has illustrations clarifying the different bearing edges on the various series. Some even have different Top and Bottom edges!! 👊🏻🦁
Unbelievable how powerful and tight the bottom end is on those kicks.

C&C and Istanbul cymbal = the perfect pair
Great video guys. Really one of the best of the best drum channels on youtube!
Great job, guys. Still waiting to hear about that new Rogers kit...
That snare sounds just like the baby Jesus would want it.
Definitely the best bebop kits I’ve ever heard🤤
Great video yet again. I got a Player Date I [all mahogany] last year and absolutely love it. Probably in the top 3 kits i own. And that snare kills!
12th and Vine sounds great! The kick was outrageous! I also liked the musical interval of the toms on the Player Date II kit.
Snagged a 13/16/24 PDII back in March and I love it to death

That snare wow. And mahogany popular sounds fantastic
Great reviews very beautiful kits great job on explaining every little detail about each one and great demos best review yet keep it up DCP ❤️
It doesn’t matter what Tony tunes, they ALL sound amazing!!! Tony can tune a used CB Percussion kit and it’ll KILL!!!
Thanks Stuart, you are too kind! Challenge accepted on the CB kit...
Beautiful drums! Would have loved to hear the Player Date II tuned all FAT and FUNKY! :) C&C makes some craftsmen/artisan stuff for sure!
That 12th & Vine kit. ❤ If I could get THAT sound on recordings. Wow.
It is a killer sound!
they sound heavenly with room mics only
The RUSH case in the background....... Nice
I love Tony’s playing.
Thanks Henry!

WOAH! single footed triple stroke!
Beastly
Resonance all around, and none had rim mounts.
It's all in the bearing edges..They all sounded amazing..
12th and vine all the way. The kick sounds like a cannon, it sounds like a 24, but it's only a 20!
Great kits, fair price, something for everybody. Congratulations C+C.well done.

Player Date 1 is best for fat and low. They're like marshmallows. I have both PD1 and PD2. Mahogany goes low and the maple/mahogany goes high.
🥇Mahogany/Poplar. Looked and sounded sharp. Nice drum mix.
They all sound great to me!

Very nice demo, thank you. What snare were you using with the C&C 12th & Vine Mahogany kit?
What happened to the head to head after yall play all the drums. I really like the first kit and last and would have loved to hear them compared.
Any rack tom that is mounted on snare stand is going to have less resonance. It’s science.
I would love a 12th and Vine kit after hearing this video. Curious how the player date 1 compares too
Beautiful sounds WOW !!!!! Just beautiful 👍
I wish there's mahogany/gum wood shell drums
Tony's great
The 12th & Vine seem like they'd be killer in the studio. All kits sound fantastic though!

did the 7-ply maple have roundover edges on both sides?
Does it have a matching snare.?
The mix in this kit sounds amazing! Do you have any tuning, mic choice, and mixing videos?
Thank you Dan! Nothing at the moment but it may happen in the future.

Also the xlr on the floor Tom mic looks weird what we’re y’all using
Nothing special on that front, just standard XLRs.

Clearly he hated even being asked to play that first kit, even though it matched his style and ability perfectly.
The player date is totally a ripoff of Ludwig's club date both in look and sound. I have to admit they did a good job at it though.
The A&F’s sound better

Nothing like a C&C drum finish to put you asleep. They are great drums, but....🥱
Just not loving any of these drums sound, I do like the classy, classic looks but just too one truck pony, thunddy sound for me.

That's the vibe. They aren't really designed to have that modern attack/sustain.
