Paramore must be such a dream for drum teachers, so many different rythms in one song usually. 'Caught in the middle' was my teachers way of getting into 16th note kicks and hi-hats. And then This is Why as a start for the ghost notes. And it's just a fun song with that chorus.

I have a 20" yamaha birch custom absolute kick and i find the birch hoops too thick. I find they choke they drum. I just ordered some cheap metal hoops as to liven the drum up a bit

I sold mine for $150 and the guy asked for his money back.

They would sound good with the remo black ⚫️ dot heads

This is the new "lower" middle class, the Sonor AQ1, Yamaha Stage Custom, Pearl Decade, Gretsch Catalina, PDP Concept, Tama Superstar, Mapex Armory, etc. Probably here you get a lot for the money, quality control (hardware) could be a little problematic, especially for a boomer like me, who checked quality for 4 decades now. I am absolutely NOT settled to a specific brand, so all this drum sets are good and interesting. Personal taste makes the decision here.

Own the japanese made EXPORT predecessor MAXWIN by Pearl with mahagoni wood together with a SONOR snare and I'm still impressed by the sound.

The stock heads sound good on this kit. The coated emperors are of course sounding even better... but then they are coated and that's an apples to oranges comparison on that fact alone. The snare drum is the down fall. It is not sounding professional at all. nicely built drums for the money. Sonor is very good!

i’m getting a double bass drum 8 piece export next week, i’m getting the ddrum deccabons 24-22-20-18, meinl darks for high hat, ride, dual chinas and dual crashes, meinl 8 inch bell, axis longboards, and a joey jordison snare drum, good to know that the snare i’m replacing isn’t good to begin with

What heads are you using? Emperors?

I found this kit is a bit "thin" sounding. If you're gonna go this route, get the "bop" kit instead. Way more versatile. But the snare is pretty good.

I tune so low, I wouldn't hear any difference. I prefer a natural wood look, so wood is my choice.

Floor toms record well and may sound good to an audience but not as much to the drummer. Surprising the floor tom is so small compared to drums from other manufacturers. (For example Starclassic has identical kit drums except for a 16x16 floor tom.) Sonor 12" toms, like many 12" toms, can be a pain to tune.

I have an export from the early 90s and the sound hasn't change when i hear the new one on the video, but it's true that changing the snare drum for a better one, just improve the sound of the Pearl export.
