  • Looking for a used Chery Tiggo in South Africa?
    www.cars.co.za/usedcars/Chery...
    It’s always exciting to sample a brand new car, but it’s a rare and special experience to drive an entirely new brand of car. South Africans now have an extra badge to choose from when shopping for new wheels and it belongs to Chery. It’s not the Chinese brand’s first foray into the local market, but it may as well be…
    You may vaguely remember the brand’s name from the late 2000s. The McCarthy dealer group (now known as Bidvest Automotive) used to distribute Chery in South Africa back then, but while the brand’s products were quite competitively priced, they weren’t particularly well-made - or attractive. The Daewoo Matiz clone (known as the QQ) and Tiggo crossover failed to impress and Chery left our market.
    Having driven the new Tiggo 4 Pro, I can assure you, however, that today’s Chery models make the QQ seem like it was built in the late 1800s. It’s astonishing how far this brand has come in just 12 years.
    In this video, our video guy Ciro De Siena gives you an in-depth tour of the newcomer, and how it compares to the rest of the market.

    Just to comment here on my experience:
    I bought a Tiggo 7 Pro last year Nov 2022 from Chery George. They ended up damaging it in a road worthy test...
    I have been struggling since then to get this resolved.
    Yes true the cars are great, lots of features etc.
    BUT, Chery is falling short on the service department...THE MOST IMPORTANT...
    So before you buy...check this FIRST!!

      Nice review. I'm buying the elite manual. I'm old school and like to drive. Auto cars are boring. My Tiggo 4 pro comes from PE and I blevieve I'm the first to buy one in George. I had a long chat with another owner of the 6 speed manual. Economy is about 7.5 to 9.0 liters per 100 km and he loves the car after 4000km. This is ok for a 1.5 turbo. I think it's the best buy in this class. Also a bit bigger than brezza, urban, maginte, sonet, kiger, venue etc. The Jolion very nice but Tiggo 4 pro is more agile and nippier 0-100 under 10 seconds. Also, Jolion is heavier on fuel, 10 to 12 liter per 100. Tiggo drive train better in my view. Jolion feels like driving a ship. Most important for me is warrantee is better on Chery 5 years 150 000 km. Jolion only 100 000km. Also 1million km 10 year on engine says a lot. Chery opening in George early next year.

    • @KnightArno
      @KnightArno 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      One more thing. Tiggo Elite manual is R320k which is 30 000 less than cvt. It's a big price jump for the cvt auto. How much fuel can you buy for 30k? Hmm 1500 liters at R20/l which relates to150 000 kms at least. In other words 5 years or more free fuel driving the manual instead of cvt. Makes one think. If you live in Gauteng or Cape Town the cvt might be a good idea due to traffic. Any other place in country go for manual.

      That's very true. Ciao is a hundred percent correct. I live in the Western Cape, and recently drove a car back from Joburg to Cape Town via the North West province. Sannieshof to Upington route. Gosh, there were unmarked potholes on the open road as big as the car itself, and a couple of feet deep.
      Besides finging your car up, this is extremely dangerous, especially if you're from the Cape, and didn't expect the sudden massive holes.

    I test drove this car the other day and I was as impressed as Mr. Chiro! However, I did note there was some turbo lag (manual version of the review unit in this video). Also, after I drove a Vitara Brezza moments before the Tiggo I did notice the brakes are not as good as the Brezza's. And in typical suburban roads with some bumps and potholes, the Brezza did seem to fare a bit better. But these are minor differences. For the person that really wants all the tech, go Cherry Tiggo. For the person that wants a good, normal car, go Vitara Brezza/Urban Cruiser

      @@KnightArno does have more power but Tiggo delivers it in a different way than Brezza. The Suzuki's engine just feels beter set up than the turbo.
