I’ve been having stomach issues since I was 15 . I’m 46 now . No doctor has ever helped me . Just anti acid and prescription for ibs and gerd . Always had issues with acid reflex , really extreme . And constipation . Stomach issue run in my family but no one has had positive results from doctors. 2 years ago I got to where I seemed allergic/ intolerant to all my foods . Went to the doctor, no help so I figured it out myself . Was fine for almost a year and lost 30 pounds . Then it hit me again and gained weight back , get tired, migraines , nausea, bloating , pain etc . Someone told me the other day maybe gallbladder . Hi Bryon, thanks for the informative video. I been dealing with for months constant burping, trapped gas, weird sensations in my chest like heart palps. I also get constipation and stomach cramping with certain foods like sweet potatoe, quinoa. The chest sensations occur with certain foods as well like sweet potato, quinoa, avocados, peanut butter, almond butter. I went to gi doctor and told me its wasn't gerd. I have tried gas x, omeprazole, protonics, alka seltzer with no luck. hey tested me for h pylori and came back negative. Also had heart monitor and said I had extra heart beats and nothing to worry about. Is their any test that you think I should have them check for?
@@RevolverCallOfDuty The only thing that I have been doing is eliminating foods that cause me flare ups. This helps to some degree. I am trying to stick to a bland diet as that helps me the most with my symptoms.
@@vanessaJeans hmm the issue I have is that I don’t really have “flare ups” for me it feels like my stomach is constantly rumbling, feels like trapped gas, and I pretty much always have to burp and my symptoms get worse after eating dinner/lunch, and every bowel movement is incomplete

@@marcopazini6849 - so sorry. Don't give up. This has knocked me out a long time. I do feel better when I fast for a period of time, up to 16 hours per day. Cramps, diarrhea, bloating burping stops. Not a solution but a small vacation. I am getting the breath test soon.
Long term use of PPIs (proton pump inhibitors) for gastric ulcer problems encourages SIBO as the stomach acid leves are reduced by the PPIs so 'hostile' bacteria is not destroyed so pass through into the small intestine and colonise it.

I’ve been having bloating, burping, nausea with occasional vomiting. + every morning I have a slight stomach pain/ache which last for an about hour after waking up. Those symptoms have been going on now for about a month and a half. My Dr suggested it’s IBS but I don’t have constipation/diarrhea and I haven’t notice the the FODMAP reduce my symptoms after a week of trying it. I was diagnosed with sibo by a naturopath after having done a breath test. When I tried treating it with herbals suggested by my naturopath, I had a horrible herxheimer reaction which flared my UC. Now I don't know what to do. Any tips? The naturopath I was seeing was horrible. He pretty much left me hanging.

Not sure if Sibo causes Bad breath, but there is another disease called TMAU/TMAU 2. Which makes your body smell bad. Fishy smell, if u have symptoms like these, u prolly have TMAU.

Would vomiting be associated as well? I'm currently in talks with my ND to see if what I have is SIBO. I'm a classic "IBD" diagnosed patient and struggled with candida in the past and gut issues since teenage-hood. My current mystery symptom other than brain fog, serious back pain, bloating and gas... is about every 6-8 months I'll have a severe bout of vomiting which lasts for at least 6-8 hours and usually takes me out of work the next day.
I have sibo and I don’t think vomiting has anything to do with it or is very uncommon. I never have any nausea. I just have mild gas pain, gas and belching and yellowish stool.

My dad was an alcoholic, his health got so affected , he's gotten so fat, he has a huge stomach, he's constantly constipated, and burps all the time, gassiness too, do you think he got sibo?
Might be something to do with how they are educated. I talk to my doctors in the U.S. about candida and they just look at me crazy, and just push me another pill to band-aide the symptom instead of fixing the cause.

Holly Rachwal nope, the exact opposite actually. You want to starve the bacteria so they aren’t fermenting and producing gas. Then when you do the breath test you consume the sugar which feeds the bacteria to get a clean reading.
I'm irritated. My Gastro Dr ruled out SIBO out of hand basically becasue I didn't include Diarhea in my list of symptoms which overlay about 90% with yours listed.

Thank you for elucidating all of us about this. I’ve had stomach pain for years and the doctors did an endoscopy, he said it was gastritis. Nothing seems to help the pain long term. I’m wondering if it could be sibo. It seems like I got it after getting poison oak a lot and having to take prednisone.

Trying to elemental diet and ALLIMAX concentrated garlic Allicin. As my naturopath recommended. Also antratil. I have the constipation type Cibo methane-based I believe. Did not get a breath test but so sick there is no time. Going to a G.I. doctor soon but been working with my family doctor and natural pathic doctor as well. All my symptoms started after taking a dose of lactobacillus and bifidobacteria probiotics which I think caused the SIBO
I had campylobacter 6 years ago and got it treated. Then h pylori 3 years ago and got it treated. Retested and it is gone. Digestive issues got worse and worse and diagnosed with epi 5 months ago. Pancreatic elastase very low and is a chronic health issue. Taking the PERTs (enzymes) andit's making no difference. Sticky greasiness stool. Just horrible. Hoping to get a sibo test soon. I just felt I should mention epi here because it's a health Condition that is not very heard of and mis diagnosed and unknown if it can cause other issues and can be associated with sibo from what I am reading (personal research) I think My 2 recent infections kicked the heck out of my pancreas as it has no visible signs of damage or scarring/atrophy. It compelely messes up digestion and gut so might allow sibo to occur. Again, just to put condition out there and hopefully it helps someone get closer to figuring out their digestive issues.
I find low elastase 1 on dozens of stool tests each year. Some patients have come to me with past testing showing low exocrine pancreatic production and haven’t even been aware of it. Most patients improve quite well on a strong pancreatic enzyme, I like biogest from Thorne but there are a few out there including a script based enzyme called creon that can work incredibly well! Pancreatic enzyme release is part of a domino of digestive effects, I don’t generally assume the pancreas is damaged, simply not getting the cues.

I am on creon 25k and take on average 5-6 per meal with little effect so I am trying to press on with more testing. I'm just tired of feeling rough each day. I don't get diarrhea or constipation but consistenty soft form greasy movements and most people I hear from on Facebook chat mention diarrhea or constipation so I feel like the exception... It's definately a minefield trying to figure out the cause but at the same time, if nothing visible then it is best to focus on treatment. I personally think the infections did a number on me, maybe upset my stomach acid production or somehow tricked my pancreas into making less enzymes. Mostly guesses at this point 🤔
@@richiep3520 thanks for the feedback! I would start to explore leaky gut and stomach acid replacement therapies. One very helpful therapy for some is bio active thiamine (b1) but best to work with someone who knows the best approaches there as it can be rough to onboard for some, especially when it is needed.
Many of my patients presenting with SIBO also have GERD. I see a big connection here, especially with methane SIBO (and possibly hydrogen sulphide SIBO but that is less clear!)

Angel Delgado no not quite. Helicobacter pylori resides mainly in the stomach and can cause a range of digestive issues too. Small intestinal bacterial overgrowth is made up of a range of possible bacteria that have managed to take up residence in the small intestine, causing damage to the gut wall and the symptoms listed in the video. @@izuku1068 Depends what’s causing it. IBS isn’t a specific disease really. It’s just what you’re diagnosed with when they can’t figure out the root of the problem. If SIBO is causing your IBS, then antibiotics should help.

Thsnks for providing such an interesting explanation of this condition. I have suffered from several of these symptoms from years. Two years ago I started to loose weight little by little. Multiple tests done to find out if I was having any type of cancer. All of them were negative and I ended up with a big insurance bill without having a clear diagnosis of the weight loss (142 lb, now 115 or so). At the end, doctor assumed it is RA the culprit.

I’ve been having stomach issues since I was 15 . I’m 46 now . No doctor has ever helped me . Just anti acid and prescription for ibs and gerd . Always had issues with acid reflex , really extreme . And constipation . Stomach issue run in my family but no one has had positive results from doctors. 2 years ago I got to where I seemed allergic/ intolerant to all my foods . Went to the doctor, no help so I figured it out myself . Was fine for almost a year and lost 30 pounds . Then it hit me again and gained weight back , get tired, migraines , nausea, bloating , pain etc . Someone told me the other day maybe gallbladder . Everytime I eat I’m a mess even fuzzy thinking , get super cold , tired like my blood pressure lowers Idn just guessing . Last year for 3 months my hair just started falling out . I now have about half the amount of hair prior to falling out. Does any of this seem like it can be my gallbladder or SIBO ? Please let me know I’m exhausted with all this ! Both these issues sound like they have what I’m fighting. I’ve been trying to change eating , do research , take herbs etc . Trying so hard to figure this out

Hi Bryon, thanks for the informative video. I been dealing with for months constant burping, trapped gas, weird sensations in my chest like heart palps. I also get constipation and stomach cramping with certain foods like sweet potatoe, quinoa. The chest sensations occur with certain foods as well like sweet potato, quinoa, avocados, peanut butter, almond butter. I went to gi doctor and told me its wasn't gerd. I have tried gas x, omeprazole, protonics, alka seltzer with no luck. hey tested me for h pylori and came back negative. Also had heart monitor and said I had extra heart beats and nothing to worry about. Is their any test that you think I should have them check for?

@@RevolverCallOfDuty The only thing that I have been doing is eliminating foods that cause me flare ups. This helps to some degree. I am trying to stick to a bland diet as that helps me the most with my symptoms.
@@vanessaJeans hmm the issue I have is that I don’t really have “flare ups” for me it feels like my stomach is constantly rumbling, feels like trapped gas, and I pretty much always have to burp and my symptoms get worse after eating dinner/lunch, and every bowel movement is incomplete

Long term use of PPIs (proton pump inhibitors) for gastric ulcer problems encourages SIBO as the stomach acid leves are reduced by the PPIs so 'hostile' bacteria is not destroyed so pass through into the small intestine and colonise it.

I was diagnosed with sibo by a naturopath after having done a breath test. When I tried treating it with herbals suggested by my naturopath, I had a horrible herxheimer reaction which flared my UC. Now I don't know what to do. Any tips? The naturopath I was seeing was horrible. He pretty much left me hanging.
Massively reduce the dosage of herbs and take it really slow. Increase the dosage very gradually.

Would vomiting be associated as well? I'm currently in talks with my ND to see if what I have is SIBO. I'm a classic "IBD" diagnosed patient and struggled with candida in the past and gut issues since teenage-hood. My current mystery symptom other than brain fog, serious back pain, bloating and gas... is about every 6-8 months I'll have a severe bout of vomiting which lasts for at least 6-8 hours and usually takes me out of work the next day.
I have sibo and I don’t think vomiting has anything to do with it or is very uncommon. I never have any nausea. I just have mild gas pain, gas and belching and yellowish stool.
I see some patients that experience vomiting and nausea associated with their SIBO symptoms. More broadly their digestion is compromised

Might be something to do with how they are educated. I talk to my doctors in the U.S. about candida and they just look at me crazy, and just push me another pill to band-aide the symptom instead of fixing the cause.

Holly Rachwal nope, the exact opposite actually. You want to starve the bacteria so they aren’t fermenting and producing gas. Then when you do the breath test you consume the sugar which feeds the bacteria to get a clean reading.
I'm irritated. My Gastro Dr ruled out SIBO out of hand basically becasue I didn't include Diarhea in my list of symptoms which overlay about 90% with yours listed.
If you suspect SIBO best to test. It can be next to impossible to determine by symptoms alone!

Stool tests do not show SIBO...a SIBO breath test is the best way to evaluate.
Trying to elemental diet and ALLIMAX concentrated garlic Allicin. As my naturopath recommended. Also antratil. I have the constipation type Cibo methane-based I believe. Did not get a breath test but so sick there is no time. Going to a G.I. doctor soon but been working with my family doctor and natural pathic doctor as well. All my symptoms started after taking a dose of lactobacillus and bifidobacteria probiotics which I think caused the SIBO

I had campylobacter 6 years ago and got it treated. Then h pylori 3 years ago and got it treated. Retested and it is gone. Digestive issues got worse and worse and diagnosed with epi 5 months ago. Pancreatic elastase very low and is a chronic health issue. Taking the PERTs (enzymes) andit's making no difference. Sticky greasiness stool. Just horrible.
Hoping to get a sibo test soon. I just felt I should mention epi here because it's a health Condition that is not very heard of and mis diagnosed and unknown if it can cause other issues and can be associated with sibo from what I am reading (personal research)
I think My 2 recent infections kicked the heck out of my pancreas as it has no visible signs of damage or scarring/atrophy. It compelely messes up digestion and gut so might allow sibo to occur.
Again, just to put condition out there and hopefully it helps someone get closer to figuring out their digestive issues.
I find low elastase 1 on dozens of stool tests each year. Some patients have come to me with past testing showing low exocrine pancreatic production and haven’t even been aware of it. Most patients improve quite well on a strong pancreatic enzyme, I like biogest from Thorne but there are a few out there including a script based enzyme called creon that can work incredibly well! Pancreatic enzyme release is part of a domino of digestive effects, I don’t generally assume the pancreas is damaged, simply not getting the cues.

I am on creon 25k and take on average 5-6 per meal with little effect so I am trying to press on with more testing. I'm just tired of feeling rough each day. I don't get diarrhea or constipation but consistenty soft form greasy movements and most people I hear from on Facebook chat mention diarrhea or constipation so I feel like the exception...
It's definately a minefield trying to figure out the cause but at the same time, if nothing visible then it is best to focus on treatment.
I personally think the infections did a number on me, maybe upset my stomach acid production or somehow tricked my pancreas into making less enzymes. Mostly guesses at this point 🤔
@@richiep3520 thanks for the feedback! I would start to explore leaky gut and stomach acid replacement therapies. One very helpful therapy for some is bio active thiamine (b1) but best to work with someone who knows the best approaches there as it can be rough to onboard for some, especially when it is needed.

Many of my patients presenting with SIBO also have GERD. I see a big connection here, especially with methane SIBO (and possibly hydrogen sulphide SIBO but that is less clear!)

Angel Delgado no not quite. Helicobacter pylori resides mainly in the stomach and can cause a range of digestive issues too. Small intestinal bacterial overgrowth is made up of a range of possible bacteria that have managed to take up residence in the small intestine, causing damage to the gut wall and the symptoms listed in the video. @@izuku1068 Depends what’s causing it. IBS isn’t a specific disease really. It’s just what you’re diagnosed with when they can’t figure out the root of the problem. If SIBO is causing your IBS, then antibiotics should help.

Thsnks for providing such an interesting explanation of this condition. I have suffered from several of these symptoms from years. Two years ago I started to loose weight little by little. Multiple tests done to find out if I was having any type of cancer. All of them were negative and I ended up with a big insurance bill without having a clear diagnosis of the weight loss (142 lb, now 115 or so). At the end, doctor assumed it is RA the culprit.
