It's possible that that's still Nestor. I haven't been keeping up with absolutely EVERY detail, but artisans in general are craftsmen, and you yourself pointed out that he's got jeweled gauntlets, neckwear, and the turban seems like it has jewels as well. Considering the dragons in this game love their treasure, I could see it making sense for the first dragon you find to be someone who makes jewlery

Another point, Nestor’s eyes are ether light milk chocolate brown or black, (hard to see even on my large screen tv) but both this dragon and Cosmos have BLUE eyes...

Nestor is in the Gnasty World like Lateef because they where captured again,trapped in crystal,and you have to rescue them in final world all over again.I know because I was playing my old version and I know that the five dragons are the same because they are trapped and captured twice by Gnasty Gnorc.When you save them they will lead you to the Gnasty Gnorc and supporting you.That's my theory and please read my comment.
I dunno, I personally don't have much of problem with how Nestor looks. But who knows, maybe he'll be improved upon before the final release just like the rest of the game is thus far. Only time will tell my friend, only time will tell.
I don’t understand why people have an issue with dragons having some clothes. The developers said that the dragons are being designed to match the theme of each world. Also, the palette swaps would be quite boring in the remaster.
I was okay with the design when I thought it was Nestor. But now that I know it may be Cosmos I'm a bit nervous. He's one of my favorite dragons so I hope the design is at least updated to show his horns or something. I only say this 'cuz the only one of my faves that we've seen so far is Jed and I'm not crazy about the way he looks.
Even if it turns out that way just let it go. Find new ones in this remaster that are your favorite. They are going to be so cool and much more interesting.
I wouldn't have had much of an issue with his design if he had a less balloon-ish hat and eyes that looked more "natural". They're almost creepy to me now.
This is quite a reach in my opinion. Nestor wasn't that important in the original game; he just told you to start collecting stuff. None of the dragons were really important enough to swap out simply because their model was incomplete. It almost feels like people are just mad that this dragon has a turban.

Artisan: a worker in a skilled trade, especially one that involves making things by hand. His attire is covered in jewels, he could easily be a jeweller/bench jeweller. Thus, still fitting with the artisanal theme.
I guess we just gotta wait and see! I still don’t think this is gonna be Nestor, I think that Nestor will have a different art trade even if Jeweller is in the artisans home world it will be on a different dragon, I don’t think it’s gonna be him :)
That's fair enough. But seeing as the game is mostly about gathering gems/jewels, one of the main dragons having jeweller as his profession just makes sense to me.

Nah, that's our boy Nestor. However....they made changes to the Artisans homeworld (and Stone Hill) from the trailer, to what we saw at E3. I believe the same will happen here and by release, Nestor's design will have changed. Or this was just a place holder design for the trailer. To me this can't be my boy Cosmos from Magic Crafters. I'm hoping they will keep the pastel like colours and maybe having him holding some magic spheres or something of the like.
I think Nestor represents spirituality because hes the very first dragon you save, kind of ushering the player into how the game will play - like a guide or teacher of some kind. I get major Ignitus vibes from this guy lol

I think you could be right. Maybe it's just a temporary place holder until the actual final version of Nestor is used. Because, if you think about it, Nestor is dark green, not mint green. The magic crafter and dream weaver dragons have a pale colour scheme to be more cohesive within their respective worlds.
I don't see why they'd replace Nestor with someone else.. Seems highly unlikely and a bit of a stretch.. He's significant in that he's the first dragon you free, gives you your tasks.. pretty much shows the player how to free dragons..

I don't think he's the dream weaver dragon their colors aren't the same. The dragon you showed isn't green but Teal. I think he might "originally have been Nestor, but they might have altered and changed it now. Or reused /recolored the model for a different dragon. I honestly hope it isn't cosmos because that dragon wouldn't scream magic craft nor dream weaver to me.
Mr. Tea, in the Magic Crafters level High Caves there’s a yellow-orange dragon named Cedric.... perfect for said HP reference... just dress him up in Hufflepuff robes and make him look like he’s just finished a try wizard task or have hi holding the cup with another dragon or maybe make him look like a ghost?
The design and aethestics of the face definitely match some of the magic crafters common features. This makes me feel much happier, if this were Cosmos in the game I would be overjoyed, the outfit would be such a wonderful addition to an enhanced character.
god i really hope he's not cosmos. i'd rather him be nestor at that point. also i'm doubtful because he's entirely green, whereas cosmos has purple wings. BUT he could be an early design or who knows what. but damn if that's cosmos i'm gonna be really disappointed.
Maybe he a Schooler? a Teacher of shorts because if this is Spyro Homeworld...why is there a young dragon in there with them? maybe Spyro is being taught by them, like maybe there something like dragons as they grow older, they go to different worlds to learn from different styles. and when they want to be in one factions, that's where they stay
I definitely think the theory is possible. All of your evidence is fantastic. On top of all that, though. You can see that the dragon in Nestor’s place has that more soft, pastel green that you would see on a Magic Crafter dragon over the bright, vibrant colors seen on the dragons in the Artisan world.
good point but the one difference you are missing is that the eyes are completely different cosmos, he has blue eyes while nestor has a green colour around black pupils.
I agree since the Artisan Home world wasnt playable in the demo at E3, so they are likely going to change Nestor's design between not till we get a new official trailer soon.

It could be possible that the dragon is Nestor's brother Nils from the Town Square level of Artisans. I also hope that Lindar (my favorite Artisan dragon) will be kept similarly to his original design and colors too.

Yes, the dragon elders from A Hero's Tail appear in Spyro 1. Also, I'm sure most of you are aware that they're gonna add bonus orb missions for Spyro 2 in the Reignited Trilogy, so I wonder if their gonna do the same with Spyro 1 by adding more dragons to rescue. If so, then they should include Sensei and Cho Lei (from Shadow Legacy) and maybe Ignitus, Volteer, Cyril, and Terrador (from Legend of Spyro) as easter eggs
Crypto Lol, no. The dragon elders' designs from Spyro: A Hero's Tail look way too different to their designs in Spyro 1. Their colours are even different to the original versions. I can't see TFB doing that, it would change their designs way too much from the original (plus a lot of Spyro fans didn't like AHT so it'd be kinda risky). Also, the other elders you mentioned weren't in Spyro 1 at all so they're most likely not gonna be in this. And again, not every Spyro fan liked Shadow Legacy and the Legend series so they'd be taking a big risk by adding the elders from those games.
I'll be honest with you, I disliked Legend of Spyro and Shadow Legacy, but I didn't hate the dragons that were in it. I mean I get what you saying but still, it would be nice to see more dragons to rescue. Ironically speaking, if that is the case, then I doubt I'll used to the designs Tomas, Titan, Astor, and Magnus because I'm so used to A Hero's Tail. But we'll see
My theory is that Nestor is the art dealer of the Artisan world, the one that sells the other dragon’s art to the other worlds to bring in money to theirs.
I just started playing Crash yesterday, I'm currently on the 3rd game and have finished the stories of the first two. I'm loving these games and can't wait for Spyro now, I'm so hyped :)
Looking at the floating gems in Toasty and "Nestor's" inconsistent design, I think you're right and it makes me think that the trailer was hastily put together. I would seem to make sense considering the game's production was no secret and was leakier than a rusty pipe.
It has the potential of being Nestor as his outfit may be there to portray a tribal leader aesthetic. Since Nestor is technically the leader of the Artisans. But who knows.
Naw, it is Nestor. I believe he is wearing that apparel because he is the very first dragon you encounter. It emphasizes his significance in being the first to show players that they must touch crystallized dragons to free them. In-game, Nestor is wise and was straightforward.. just told you what to do as if he had previously had to do the tasks himself.. he has the experience.. the wisdom.. and probably saved other dragons like Spyro does in the game.. only that this time he was caught off guard.
Kind of like how Spyro 1 demo Nestor and retail nestor had differences despite looking similar( The demo version of Nestor was dark green but retail version is light green).
I think that that being cosmos makes perfect sense it looks way more like cosmos then nester anyway so yeah it’s definitely cosmos the design of him I don’t mind but maybe add his horns and don’t let the turban hide them I didn’t mention that his face looks more like a dinosaur then a dragon but maybe them adding his horns on is head and the one on his nose would make him look more dragon like
It's not Nestor. CrystalBlazier uploaded the cutscene with Nestor and he looks different. He has a jacket with an ornament on its chest and a wooden hammer like a sculptor. Also no hat. And a lot more buff.
Honestly? I figured Nestor had a different design because he is the introductory dragon in the game. He was standing on that grassy platform looking over the rest of the Artisan area before he was transformed, after all. Perhaps he is considered an elder of sorts? That'd be why he had a turban instead of artisan garb. Perhaps the introductory/leader dragons for each world will wear a similar garb.
I think they added the turban to show a sort of authority. When I initially saw this dragon, my immediate thought was "he's probably a king, or some type of archetect." Idk why..but that's how it affected me. Still, what you say makes sense. It's hard to tell what he could fit into with that design. I think the reason why people are a little freaked with it is because they expected nestor to look more bulky, more like the original. This kind of dragon to some degree doesn't fit with the overall style for artisans, mainly because he doesn't seem to look enough western style, much like nevin does. It could be a stand in, who really knows. I guess we'll find out sooner or later. Sept 21st can't get here early enough!
A small counterargument point: nobody would have pegged Nevin as an artist from those concept shots. It wasn't until they added Nevin's accessories of the paint brush and paint palette that the "artist" part clicked. All those Best Maker dragons also have all their accessories on when they were shown. It could easily be explained that Nestor doesn't seem to fit the theme, just simply because they hadn't added the accessories or animations that would really highlight "ARTISAN" yet when they dropped the trailer. (Also, there's the minor point that the hat... doesn't actually seem to be a turban? Like, If you really look at it, it's just a poofy gilded hat. If anything, NEVIN'S hat looks more like a turban then Nestor's.)

Seeing of this makes sense because of the first trailer is an early develop and finding that they went different of their schedules in the making. I really like this theory and hope its true, but I do not think its Cosmos because in the original design, he has two horns, what seems to be beard features, and more purple. But toys for Bob could have changed the palette and left out the horns. It's not like that's a hard change. Either way I do believe your theory on how this may not be Nestor but I'm also sure it's not Cosmos.
This is obviously just an unfinished dragon they have... I mean you can tell by how static the wings are and how the toes are not well sculpted. I doupt this is a Magic Crafted since you can clearly see similarities to Nevin but you're just kinda ignoring them...
I love the idea of having unique dragons. It's really not a big deal if they don't look like the original. I think it's going to make finding them so much more interesting. I hope they say different things too instead of "Thank you for RELEASING me!"

it may not be the nestor we see in the final game, but i dunno if it's a different dragon in the game. somehow i doubt it's a magic crafters dragon anyway. i'd think they would at least give cosmos his beard or his double horns, they both defined him well. maybe i just don't think he looks whimsical enough to be a magic crafter too; t4b has shown that they can make very beautifully thematic designs and this looks somewhat bland for the theme of magical dragon could just be an early design they had for nestor before refining him to his final one. they've changed a lot about artisans as you know, from the colors of the grass, sky, and bushes, to the gnorc gem thieves. the gem thieves look completely different in shape and tone now. nestor could as well!
I dunno, man, this dragon's body design looks too similar to Nevin's for me to think he's anything but an Artisans world dragon. If he isn't Nestor, I'd say he's probably Nils since Nils was also slender and green, and I think the turban could fit the idea of a town square level.
Well they could have given him the Arabic design and he would be a calligrapher. Which is a major artform in the middle east. And in ancient times being a calligrapher meant that u were highly educated. A scholar of sorts.

I'm kinda scared about this game. With crash there weren't many things changed or complained about, but I keep seeing videos about things changed for the worse, and issues about the game. Even though I'm still gonna absolutely adore this if it's for the Nintendo Switch eventually, I'm somewhat concerned on how much will be changed.

Cosmos here is a very early prototype and was actually just made quickly for the trailer. So it’s safe to assume he’ll turn out differently.
Even if it turns out that way just let it go. Find new ones in this remaster that are your favorite. They are going to be so cool and much more interesting.

I'll be honest with you, I disliked Legend of Spyro and Shadow Legacy, but I didn't hate the dragons that were in it. I mean I get what you saying but still, it would be nice to see more dragons to rescue.
Ironically speaking, if that is the case, then I doubt I'll used to the designs Tomas, Titan, Astor, and Magnus because I'm so used to A Hero's Tail. But we'll see
My theory is that Nestor is the art dealer of the Artisan world, the one that sells the other dragon’s art to the other worlds to bring in money to theirs.
I just started playing Crash yesterday, I'm currently on the 3rd game and have finished the stories of the first two. I'm loving these games and can't wait for Spyro now, I'm so hyped :)
To be fair, in the demo of the original game, one of the 1st dragons had a different voice.
Looking at the floating gems in Toasty and "Nestor's" inconsistent design, I think you're right and it makes me think that the trailer was hastily put together. I would seem to make sense considering the game's production was no secret and was leakier than a rusty pipe.

It has the potential of being Nestor as his outfit may be there to portray a tribal leader aesthetic. Since Nestor is technically the leader of the Artisans. But who knows.

Naw, it is Nestor. I believe he is wearing that apparel because he is the very first dragon you encounter. It emphasizes his significance in being the first to show players that they must touch crystallized dragons to free them. In-game, Nestor is wise and was straightforward.. just told you what to do as if he had previously had to do the tasks himself.. he has the experience.. the wisdom.. and probably saved other dragons like Spyro does in the game.. only that this time he was caught off guard.

It is Nestor, but it was his older design/placeholder design.
Kind of like how Spyro 1 demo Nestor and retail nestor had differences despite looking similar( The demo version of Nestor was dark green but retail version is light green).

I think that that being cosmos makes perfect sense it looks way more like cosmos then nester anyway so yeah it’s definitely cosmos the design of him I don’t mind but maybe add his horns and don’t let the turban hide them I didn’t mention that his face looks more like a dinosaur then a dragon but maybe them adding his horns on is head and the one on his nose would make him look more dragon like
Nestor has a twin brother named Nils.
It's not Nestor. CrystalBlazier uploaded the cutscene with Nestor and he looks different. He has a jacket with an ornament on its chest and a wooden hammer like a sculptor. Also no hat. And a lot more buff.

After seeing the many other dragons in the Reignited Trilogy, I now dig the hat. They should keep it, or improve it!
Honestly? I figured Nestor had a different design because he is the introductory dragon in the game. He was standing on that grassy platform looking over the rest of the Artisan area before he was transformed, after all. Perhaps he is considered an elder of sorts? That'd be why he had a turban instead of artisan garb. Perhaps the introductory/leader dragons for each world will wear a similar garb.
I think they added the turban to show a sort of authority. When I initially saw this dragon, my immediate thought was "he's probably a king, or some type of archetect." Idk why..but that's how it affected me. Still, what you say makes sense. It's hard to tell what he could fit into with that design. I think the reason why people are a little freaked with it is because they expected nestor to look more bulky, more like the original. This kind of dragon to some degree doesn't fit with the overall style for artisans, mainly because he doesn't seem to look enough western style, much like nevin does. It could be a stand in, who really knows. I guess we'll find out sooner or later. Sept 21st can't get here early enough!
A small counterargument point: nobody would have pegged Nevin as an artist from those concept shots. It wasn't until they added Nevin's accessories of the paint brush and paint palette that the "artist" part clicked. All those Best Maker dragons also have all their accessories on when they were shown. It could easily be explained that Nestor doesn't seem to fit the theme, just simply because they hadn't added the accessories or animations that would really highlight "ARTISAN" yet when they dropped the trailer.
(Also, there's the minor point that the hat... doesn't actually seem to be a turban? Like, If you really look at it, it's just a poofy gilded hat. If anything, NEVIN'S hat looks more like a turban then Nestor's.)

This is really a good theory..no, my mistake, A great good theory. Seeing of this makes sense because of the first trailer is an early develop and finding that they went different of their schedules in the making. I really like this theory and hope its true, but I do not think its Cosmos because in the original design, he has two horns, what seems to be beard features, and more purple. But toys for Bob could have changed the palette and left out the horns. It's not like that's a hard change. Either way I do believe your theory on how this may not be Nestor but I'm also sure it's not Cosmos.

This is obviously just an unfinished dragon they have... I mean you can tell by how static the wings are and how the toes are not well sculpted. I doupt this is a Magic Crafted since you can clearly see similarities to Nevin but you're just kinda ignoring them...
I hope there will be a gallery to watch the dragons again
I love the idea of having unique dragons. It's really not a big deal if they don't look like the original. I think it's going to make finding them so much more interesting. I hope they say different things too instead of "Thank you for RELEASING me!"

You seem to have a very limited scope on what's an artist. Fortune telling is a form of art.

it may not be the nestor we see in the final game, but i dunno if it's a different dragon in the game. somehow i doubt it's a magic crafters dragon anyway. i'd think they would at least give cosmos his beard or his double horns, they both defined him well. maybe i just don't think he looks whimsical enough to be a magic crafter too; t4b has shown that they can make very beautifully thematic designs and this looks somewhat bland for the theme of magical dragon
could just be an early design they had for nestor before refining him to his final one. they've changed a lot about artisans as you know, from the colors of the grass, sky, and bushes, to the gnorc gem thieves. the gem thieves look completely different in shape and tone now. nestor could as well!

The real Nestor was captured by Gnasty Gnorc, and you find a more traditional Nestor in Gnasty's world. That's my theory.
I dunno, man, this dragon's body design looks too similar to Nevin's for me to think he's anything but an Artisans world dragon. If he isn't Nestor, I'd say he's probably Nils since Nils was also slender and green, and I think the turban could fit the idea of a town square level.
Well they could have given him the Arabic design and he would be a calligrapher. Which is a major artform in the middle east. And in ancient times being a calligrapher meant that u were highly educated. A scholar of sorts.

I'm kinda scared about this game. With crash there weren't many things changed or complained about, but I keep seeing videos about things changed for the worse, and issues about the game. Even though I'm still gonna absolutely adore this if it's for the Nintendo Switch eventually, I'm somewhat concerned on how much will be changed.
