- That did not go to plan, but that's okay! We were able to get a large brush pile burnt up and thrown together with a John Deere 120 Excavator.
Also attempted to swap wheels and tires on the GMC C8500 Tandem Axle. Turns out the new ones didn't fit, but Dirt Perfect was able to sell them , so no loss there.
AND we received and incredible gift from Sassafras Valley. He crafted an incredible ships wheel for the youtube yacht. Left us speechless. Be sure to hope over to Sassafra Valley and be sure to check it out. Also check out SOT Metalworks for the cutting of the metalwork

Cap’n... I’ve mentioned before that for a Fire Chief wannabe you leave a lot of evidence lying around about your pyromaniacal proclivities! Who’d a-thunk that going to a lieutenant captain’s channel would have fed my own addiction to fire so well?
And, one can never get too much practice at exercising their futile tire changing efforts... can they?
About the wheel... Jr and I have been working on it for a while... both of us had to figure out some new ways to do things.... but, our ulterior motives are devious. We wanna make sure we can navigate that boat out of the forest safely... when we come to stay.
Thanks to you and Jr... I get to vacation in Derby some day! (Don’t sweat the broken handles. They’re an easy fix.)

That is really cool, well done, it is a crying shame what UPS did to it.
You did an amazing job on the ship’s wheel. Unfortunately couriers often take fragile packages as a challenge to see how badly they can eff things up.
I have an idea how I would fix it just from what Captain Kleeman showed and it would involve some 3/4” oak dowel.

That is a really nice wheel there Captain.
With all of this boat talk here I have been trying, for awhile now, to come up with a mildly dirty boat joke to slip in here, but I just don't think that ship is going to happen.
the handles are glued in separately from the spokes, may have to make new ones and get their tenon out of the wheel but a fairly easy fix that takes some patience to not mar the surfaces.
Did you check to make sure no Bigfoot was napping in that pile before burning it... 😲 😏😎

Cant complain when a day at work is sitting in an excavator playing with fire, and we know DP cant have Aaron do that job since he caught multiple things on fire at the shop lol the whole derby forest would go up with him around. Enjoy the upcoming week Capt, dont work to hard!

Man, that is a damn shame that UPS damaged the wheel. That definitely would be something I'd call and complain about, that looks like it took quite a bit of time to do. But it is still a great piece of artwork! Great job @Sassafras Valley, @SOTMetalwork.
Watching Captain Kleeman burning brush made for a great video that would be hard to top.
But as we all know Sassafras Valley and SOT Metalworks managed to top that by a mile despite a UPS drivers best attempt to derail the yacht while in dry dock.
So frustrating that UPS doesn't care about the packages they're paid to handle. Awesome looking piece Sassafras!
The wheel is Awesome . I've had a lot of very expensive electronic components shipped and received by air and ground ( with face value insured ). Collected damaged insurance stuff and it didn't improve the handling of shipments . A friend worked for Delta as a baggage handler and I asked him how they handled stuff tagged and he stated they didn't throw the stuff as hard as the regular packages and luggage . Great video sir .

I laughed out loud a couple videos ago when you saw Mike inspecting the pond and said 'be prepared for pond jokes in two months" ! Haha I'm not sure who caught that but, how you casualy mentioned that made me laugh! Great gift! Can't wait to see progress.
I think the repair shouldn’t be too hard. Using some 3/4” oak dowel you drill a 3/4” hole into the end of the handle and another into it’s original location and using the dowel cut lengths to act as pins to glue the handles back in place.
Of course I am only going by what I think I see in the video.
I’ve done the same repair to railing spindles that broke off when I took out the carpet and installed bamboo floors in my house.
Great, the one Sunday I make an unscheduled trip to the new ranch and spend all day driving and working, and miss your video, you get that ship's wheel. That is outstanding!

Just about as pretty as the first babies smile when you first held them... Other altros will suffer for this great one and I can say the way it moved you at the last got a little mud in my eye too :-)... from ear to ear... if it went any further your top of your noggin would fall off. Could say more .... well a little more... I had a old still ran excavator that at best was worth more to the finance company as collateral than anyone on this earth could pay.. anywho, I mounted a propane tank on the back end out of danger and ran a large hose for less restriction and it was also all I had to the end of the boom. Alongside it was a airline that I controlled from in the whats left cabin. I would get the fire going in just a little area depending on how big a hurry I got into and then point it into a fire to get it going and once it was well on its way shut off the propane and just nug the pile plus aim air in there and boy howdy doody I had some dandies. I even for the thrill sent a bunch of propane into a pile that hadn't quite caught yet and let it waffe into the fire where it would explode like a bomb. Moved some branches and wood around it did. .... I was a little terrorist in the making

When shipping ups,always use the drop kick method,,if the drivers don’t tear them up,there warehouse conveyors will!
I know several drivers and former workers,there pushed hard,paid well,but definitely overworked! Hard to be careful all the time!

I don't comment much Captain, but the ship's wheel is awesome.
As for the difference in the truck wheels: The beveled lugs are Budd wheels and the washered lugs are Timken wheels!
The wheels on the C8500 are Hub pilot wheels and only have one lug nut per stud and use a 33mm socket the other wheels are Budd wheels and use 2 lug nuts per set of duals an inner nut which takes a 13/16" square socket and an outer nut for the outside wheel which uses an 1-1/2" socket and if it'sasteer axle uses justa single 1-1/2" nut. I've seen many people wreck wheels and hubs trying to mix them up.
That is some beautiful workmanship on the wheel. And when I come to stay I want to stand by the wheel and pretend I'm the Cpt of this ship. The kids will love it !!!! I can't wait to see it done. Another great vid my friend !!

UPS does not care about any package. If you were to have asked the driver about it, he/she would have passed it on to someone else. It is a shame that you did not get a video of the driver rolling it up to the door for claims. $2500?

Sassafras spent hours making you the ships wheel, and should of spent a little extra time and properly box it in plywood instead of flimsy cardboard and foam
Good job checking before more than one tire was off. You were given a clue that should have been checked before you were given the job. Good thing, more equipment use time earned!! It looks like no shovels were broken in the making of this video.

Ups guy leaves packages on back of truck that is parked not 10 feet off the gravel road where I live. Will not come any further in hard because of the blue heeler and hound we have in yard. They aren’t mean dogs either
The technical term for those wheels are hub-centric and stud-centric. Hub centric is very rare on newer vehicles but is pretty common on older trailers and vehicles. I think, and I know someone will correct me if I'm wrong, Ford was the last one to use hub-centric wheels on the F250
/350 up until 2000. Other than that there was no light duty vehicle, car or trailer that still used that style wheel much later than the 90s. But... most tractors still use hun-centric.

stop bashing the fire like my grang papy said (if a fire cant see out it will go out) meaning you want fire which is heat to make it burn bash the fire and you lose that chimney of heat. what you've heated you need that to burn to make more heat.makes me cringe to see a fire bashed

UPS, Usual Piss-poor Service! It's kinda sad, when you get about the same effort from USPS and FedEx. 😪 My postal delivery person closes the mailbox up all the way, every day, UNLESS it's blowing rain or sleeting.
Surely it can be fixed as good as new and the only people that will know things where broken, will be ones that watched the video.

The C8500 has hub pilot wheels witch uses 33mm lug nut. The other wheel is a stud pilot witch use an inner nut that has a square head to hold the inner wheel and a hex head outer nut to hold the outer wheel. They are not inter changeable.
