    One bottle up to six quarts. My trailblazer uses seven quarts, so I put a bottle and a half in it and followed the directions. I did it after I gave it an oil change. Going on three weeks now and zero oil leaks.

    This is a polymer which rejuvenates the gaskets or rubber seals to make them swell back to like when they were new. It doesn't work on cork gaskets but rubber only. It's not like other stop leaks which use particles of some kind to fill in holes or cracks, but you have to be careful with those because they can stop up oil passages if you use to much or have a dirty engine. This clear liquid is a lot safer. Blue Devil will work but you just have to give it time.

  • @arne6787
    @arne6787 ปีที่แล้ว +11

    Another thing to consider. In older engines when the oil leaks begin, seal problems but why? Check the crankcase pressure. Piston rings can wear leading to blow-by and high pressure in the crankcase that the seals were never made to stand up to. A look at the pcv valve to see if it is plugged or showing signs of leakage around it's mount seal can offer clues. Oil cap off, hand over opening to check for the feel of higher pressure.

    I have never had to use Blue Devil Oil Stop Leak, but I used Blue Devil Power Steering Fluid Leak, and it worked 100% in my case. I was not expecting it to work at all when I bought it, but it was cheap enough to try it.... I was totally blown away by the results as the Power Steering leak completely stopped. I am writing this, because I am about to purchase Blue Devil Oil Stop Leak for the first time and if it works in my case, I will never seek another product other than Blue Devil. That last experience totally blew me away with the results. That was YEARS AGO! As I am dealing with this exact same issue with the same result, and watching this video of the before and after it occurred to me that these products do work but if all the smaller leaks are closed by the expansion of the rubber seals the crankcase pressure will force the oil to the largest hole it can find, thus the larger puddle at the end of the video. It may be an idea to replace the PCV valve when doing this and seeing if this alleviates it at all.

      I wouldn’t use this on a valve cover gasket. This is more for other seals. Valve cover gaskets are not that hard to replace and don’t cost much. I would recommend just replacing it.
