Trees for fairy gardens. Thank you for sharing ! Just goes to show if you need an answer to a problem, some one has the answer ! I learned something new today! I am 81 years old , I try to learn something new each day . Blessed Be 👍👍👍👍
I... think, I just attended my first ever masterclass. The details are just amazing, if anyone able to make me gaped in awe more than once in 30 mins duration, it's you!
I've seen a lot of miniature trees, but I have to say that these are some of the most realistic I've come across. Your attention to detail is impressive; I'm not exaggerating when I say these look like the kind of quality you'd find in miniatures made for movies (obviously long before cgi became the more prevalent technology).
Exactly what I was thinking. This is actually much more detailed and realistic than what is required to suite my needs lol, but so many great techniques were demonstrated that I can cherry pick for various projects (loved how he made the vines!). This is master class stuff here, by a true artist. Hats off to ya Paepercuts, I'll remember you for sure if I need instruction on stepping up my craft to the next level.
This goes way beyond the usual standard for miniatures games terrain. The result is breathtaking, with the correct background it would even be hard to tell wether these are real or not. However, with so many different techniques and materials I doubt I have the time, patience, skill and money to pull off something like this.
I want to thank you for this beautiful channel. Not only your creations are amazing and your explanations very clear, but also your calm and your soft voice while explaining make me feel relaxed and happy to watch your video. Also I appreciate the cuts and the lack of useless introductions at the beginning. Thank you so much, you are one of my favorite channels on youtube
A lot of things I probably won't use (I'm modelling for a less realistic look), but the core means of building the trees was really informative, and seeing the steps for things like the mushrooms, vines and lichen really helped me see what I can add to make terrain like this stand out. Thank you so much!
This is such a great tutorial! I am not a diorama builder but I am a grandmother who wants to build a once off dinosaur diorama for my very young grandson. With this tutorial I can easily try it without having to go out and buy all the things that I will never use again. Tea and herbs, glue and paint, cable etc. Yes I think I will give it a go.
Wow. I've been making terrain and trees for a lot of years, but you blew me away with making the vines, and the general attention to detail. Outstanding work.
Absolutely incredible levels of realistic detail!! Thank you so much for sharing your techniques!! I’m gonna try this on a smaller scale model and cut down the sizes of the wire, rope, vines, and some other items. These miniatures you created are the best I’ve ever seen of true jungle trees!
These are the best treeI have ever seen made. This is museum quality work and I will be using these techniques for future trees. Thank You! As for the dislikes I have no idea what mind altering drugs they are on but I am sure there is a rehab clinic they can attend. =)
Excellent work and results! And besides, the music and the tone of voice are very relaxing and pleasant. It's always a pleasure to see your videos. Congratulations
Zeer goed en realistisch resultaat. Wat helpt is dat alles heel professioneel is uitgedacht en gepresenteerd. De uren die hier in zitten ook voor het editen! Geweldige touch met de gifkikkers.
Coming from Kuranda; tropical far northern Australia, I must say they have to be the most lifelike model rainforest trees I have ever seen. Thank you so very much for such an educational video. I am hoping to create a WW2 Pacific diorama in the very near future and was wondering how I was going to do it on a tight budget and still make it realistic. Truly inspirational. Thank you once again.
wow! the attention to detail and complexity of your work blows me away every time. hats off to you sir, without a doubt the best scenery maker i know :-) as always, looking forward to the next vid!
The frogs come from a plastic kit from Busch - Small Animal Set. they are H.O scale so i had to pick them up with tweezers, and paint them on masking tape :p
Dit ziet er echt fantastisch uit zeg! Wauw! Kun je me vertellen wat je precies voor het bladerendek heb gebruikt. Geen idee wat seafoam plants zijn en kan dit soort bladeren ook niet vinden in de verschillende shops. Bedankt alvast
The amount of materials he used for a couple of trees, one could probably make a small diorama, personally I find half the things you did redundant. That being said, some great techniques and attention to detail and the end product speaks for itself.
These are worthy of practical scenery effects in motion pictures or museum displays. I think I would be scared to let gamers near them for fear of damaging these works of art.
Love your videos, very well done! could u give some general tips about airbrushing?? Always painted using stable brush but im not good enough to do smooth transitions so im approaching the airbrush!!
Thank you! Single best advice i can give you for airbrushing, is to take the time to visit a store that specializes in airbrushes. Give them a phonecall and ask if they let you try the airbrush and practice on some paper. I made a 2 hour drive to do this and the advice i got there was golden, especially on how to clean them. That way you can get a feel for it, and also make a good decision on what type you like and compressor. Ask them questions until they get tired of you :p Especially when you're a beginner, you should (if possible funds wise) invest in a good compressor with a water trap and an ultrasonic cleaner. I always recommend beginners to get good quality materials if possible, as it can be really frustrating if your airbrush blocks and sputters the whole time. Feel free to ask if you need any help and have fun with the hobby! ;)
tank you for the quick answer and the advices! i actually have an iwata revolution and the compressor came along in the same box, idk if it's good enough i hope it's decent at least. indeed i had problems with clogging but i managed to understand how to deep clean the airbrush and thats something but the problem is that it still tends to clog and sputter and i dont understand why, i think it may depend on the paint i use. i use vallejo and citadel paints diluted with water, i see u mainly use vallejo air and i was wondering if they make that much of a difference. do you need to dilute them even more, if yes do you use water or some product? ty so much
Great! That is a good setup Iwata is a good choice. When you want to airbrush Citadel paints and Vallejo (Airbrush and regular types) than i highly suggest you use Airbrush Flow Improver ( i use the Vallejo one ). Skip the water it's terrible for precision airbrushing, i only use water when diluting my varnishes. Water only makes it dry quicker, plus it tends to separate pigments from paint, so you''ll have dried paint on your needle and nozzle really quick. I used to use a mixture of Airbrush Thinner and Flow Improver for a while, but then found the Thinner adds nothing ( it works though ). Flow Improver dilutes the paint without separating the pigments, and also act as a drying retarder. I use about 3-4 parts Flow Improver to 1 part paint mixtures, and that is with Vallejo Air ( darker colors need slightly more diluting ). If you're using paints that are meant for brushpainting, than the ratio is higher because the pigments in those paints are thicker. With those, make a mixture in a small cup until it has the thickness of skimmed milk before adding it to your airbrush. As with anything, try and see what works best for you this is just what i use ;) Good luck!
Tank you so much, i tried to use the medium from citadel because it is what i have at disposal and there is already big improvment, i think that for birthday i'll gift myself some proper product and try and have some fun. Your videos inspired me a lot, and the minis you paint are very fine and i really enjoy them! Passionate work :)
Could you tell us what type of dried branches you used please? Because I wasn't able to find something as dense as what you chose. Thank you, and continue this work, it's amazing!
Thank you. The branches usually come from shrubs or bushes. I get them at a garden centre, you may want to check there locally. Garden centres usually have a section with home decorative materials i get a lot of materials there. Good luck!
Thank you! Well most materials i use for these come from a garden centre/ craftstore, which is really cheap. For painting you could stick to craft store brands and get a nice result to save some cash. All in all they're not that expensive i think, you could always modify them a little :)
Love the video who knew in 2020 the hard material to get would be the TP

Thank you very much! Yes time to return to using scale models, costumes and puppets in movies like the good old classics ;)
Exactly what I was thinking.
