A little tip for anyone building large or medium scale scenery involving water, to avoid bubbling in your water if you have either a washing machine or washer/drier on at the time of making your water, after pouring just pop your scenery on top of the washer/drier and the agitation from the drum spinning around drives all the bubbles to the top, just keep an eye on it to check for anything you may need to pop or displace and of course...do NOT let it vibrate off the machine...not only will you destroy your scenery but your kitchen/utility room floor also and any potential collateral damage from splashes of resin.

They're not stumps sticking up from the water, actually! They're called cypress knees, they're part of the root sticking up into the air.

Thanks i didn't know that haha. That explains why they have about the same texture as the trees ;) Cheers

Myself I decided recently i wanted to start making custom swamp bases for a few of my miniatures so thanks for taking the time in making these videos to teach others. I admire how the majority of the materials you made yourself, I know i don’t have as much patience as you to make and paint the vegetation however i appreciate to know my options.

The tool you used to check for a level surface is simply called a "Level" or possibly a "Bubble Level" (for obvious reasons). Enjoyed your videos. Even though I'm not making a swamp or South Western US terrain, I've learned a lot about different techniques and materials.
    Thanks
    Carl

Well I glad to see that you added in the cypress tree knees even if you didn't know what they were. Those aren't stumps in the normal context. They were never trees. What you see is however big it's grown so far. I assume it holds whatever a tree needs, so if there's a bad year or string of years, then the tree can get what it needs to survive. However, I'm no tree engineer. Reference photos like you used are so vital when you want a certain look. Excellent use sir, excellent use. I guess I'm going to have to up my game. I have seen lots of people use them before, but never seen where it saved someone's ass so well.
Excellent piece in general as well.

This has to be one of the best videos regarding fantasy terrain that I've seen. You're so detailed and meticulous. There were many times throughout the video I thought, "yea, that looks good place it and move on" but you would go on to further paint or detail the item. Truly a model modeler. Thank you for the video.

The Hyper Gamer !! Hi, well that's hard to say because when making a gaming table i have to look at specific things gamers look for, such as what game they play and how much terrain they want on it. Kopi scones are actually wasp nursurys, by injecting venom into a tree, the tree reacts to it by making a cone shaped structure.
The form on nursery depends on the strength of the poison and the kind of wasp

This swamp terrain turned out so incredible! I was wondering what kind of little white flowers did you use? Thanks again for all of the inspiration! 😊

Thank you and you're very welcome! I think the flowers are some type of Amaryllis, but i'm not sure. I order them from RealityInScale ( Dutch webpage) but i have also seen them on Ebay. Search for '1/35 or 1/24 scale White Flowers' Good luck ;)

Most impressive! I'm studying techniques for making dioramas like yours to use in making little air plant scenes, using live air plants. I have a plastic "Swamp Thing" figure I'm going to incorporate into one of them. He would look right at home in your beautiful Bayou.

This looks so awesome. Although, if I were to do anything differently, I would've painted the sides so that they looked like the different levels of earth.
