    so glad you were able to fit all three trees in the arrangement (more pleasing to the eye in odd numbers)... my husband groaned when he saw what you were doing this morning because he knows this will involve a walk in our woods today!.. thanks for a great simple festive idea...

    Girl everything you touch pertaining to the garden, even in winter, turns out amazing! Thanks for all the inspiration you’ve given me. I’ve not seen a video to date that has not been absolutely adorable. Your love of family, friends and followers is what we need in this world, more than ever! Love you guys, thank you so much! 💚

    When Laura says “forage” and you immediately think to yourself “I can’t wait for her annual foraging trip to the mountains with her mom!” Always one of my favorite videos!

    Laura: “ If I do it again I might scale it down just a little bit...”. I wonder how many of us out there were chuckling to ourselves as she said this, thinking, “Yeah, right!“ Lol 😂
    What a great little project! I can’t wait to try this. They’ll be nineteen of us for Christmas Eve and I can’t wait to put one of these, (or more, as I channel my “inner Laura“) on the buffet table! Thank you for this!🙂💚

    Suggestion for keeping the trees upright is a scrap of plywood for inside the container. Put a screw up from bottom into the base of each tree trunk. This would also raise them up a bit so you could see more of the tree branches. This is a beautiful project.

    • @nadiamalen
      @nadiamalen 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      So smart! Would definitely make it super sturdy and wind-resistant.

    • @GardenKath
      @GardenKath 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I would put the whole thing on a piece of plywood, rather than the container. You could space them out a bit, so you could see each tree better, and really play up the “forest floor” idea.

    Beautiful and so creative! Another way to create a similar centerpiece, for those who don't have access to tree stumps and power drills, is to use a piece of hard styrofoam (the type used to pack shipping boxes). It can be easily cut in the shape you need for the base and painted dowel rods instead of sticks can be used to create the tree structure. Lots of moss will cover up the styrofoam easily. Artificial greens can be used as well so the arrangement can be re-used from year to year.

    • @annehedlund7333
      @annehedlund7333 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Nice substitute ideas .!

    • @kristiemcgrew4522
      @kristiemcgrew4522 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      But I wonder if it would be too too heavy for styrofoam. If so, any ideas for stabilizing?

    • @gardeninggrandma5247
      @gardeninggrandma5247 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@kristiemcgrew4522 Good question, that could be a problem. Maybe some hot glue in the holes, or use florist tape to hold down the styrofoam or if all else fails, I would try duck tape and run it across all of the styrofoam, securing it to the vessel. If you have green duck tape, that's great, but if not, any color duck tape is fine as the moss will cover everything as the final step in assembly.

    Laura: I may not be able to fit all 3 in the container.

    I Love the results of this project! Yes! to another successful Laura display! Thank you for sharing. I am surrounded by pines & broken branches, pine cones & acorns if the squirrels haven't foraged them all. If I had an inch of creativity, I would have thought of this. I think we all get some creative streak from store displays, other social networking svcs, Facebook shares,, Pinterest, Etsy, in person craft shows/stores. Etc...something which looks so beautiful seems so easy with a little glue, & a smidgen of creativity..Haha. Have a great day All!

    Thankful moment:
    Laura, you’ve been so instrumental in my journey of not fearing the unknown or guarantee outcome & trying things both in garden, at work and life in general. I remember you saying years ago that if some plant didn’t thrive in spot A, that you’d dig it up & move it. That struck me hard-I would fear failure so much, I wouldn’t try. Kudos to you & editor for showing the process of your project! Specifically, when you were starting to wire the branches from the top, I thought “hmm, wonder if she tried other starting spots-middle, bottom of branch”. Then, cut to the end of that process & you saying “easier to start in middle!” Amazing & thank you for letting us witness the learning process!!! Cheers to trying & experimenting!

    Laura “I think most normal people would do this step outside”…..🤣.
    I’m glad I’m not the only one that does this kind of stuff indoors.
    When an artist is at work there is no normal! 😉 💚
    Love all your projects! 🎄🎅

      Yeah, when she said that, I thought at least she’s not at her dining table or kitchen island like I usually am in cold weather. My husband remarked the other day that most people probably don’t have to clean up saw/sanding dust from their dining room on a daily basis. 😬

    So cute! I absolutely love the Pinecone star. I think that would add a beautiful touch to have each tree have a Pinecone star! Love it

    You are amazing. I love the way people sent pictures of their doors and how they decorate.

    The trees are perfect! I just spent the past weekend decluttering all my Christmas decorations. It is more manageable for me now. I understand you have a pretty large home to decorate, so your filled up back porch looks about right! Have a great day.
