This WAS a beautiful area. Now developers have bought out all the prairie and the cost of living is absolutely ridiculous. Families can't even afford a small, older home because so many people have moved in driving up the costs. They have been cutting down all the trees and putting in condos and apartments along the river, so the beautiful scenery is gone now. People used to be kind, now it's all out of staters bringing in their greed and rushed mentalities. Traffic is a nightmare! The easy going laid back attitudes that made this area so appealing is gone. The drug problem is increasing, people ODing left and right, homeless starting to show up on corners. I've been here since 2017 and I've watched it go downhill VERY rapidly. Only the super rich can afford to live comfortably here anymore, the rest of us are being pushed out. As far as politics, North Idaho was fairly conservative but now more liberal mentality has taken over causing a lot of divide. (for the record, I'm more Independent). Schools are overcrowded as well.
Have visited quite a bit and as population has grown, it has become less friendly. To be expected? The weather is terrible, about 3-5 months are pleasant. Bring a lot of money, it is expensive....6-8 visits a year are down to 2-3.....good luck
It has grown quite a bit!! I am always using the slower roads or back roads to stay away from the traffic. Yes some people aren’t as friendly but I stay true to the being friendly and am always smiling and saying “Hi”. I had some clients that only lived here for 2 years that moved here from Colorado but couldn’t handle the gray days we have. Glad you still visit sometime!! Hope you still are enjoying it!!
Been here just two years now and so far my husband and I are loving the weather! Having moved from a hotter climate we find the cloudy skies beautiful with their many shades of grays, whites and blues. I find the Western Washington drizzle a bit oppressive but here in CDA the occasional sprinkling is refreshing. Having some high temps now this summer but thankfully it won’t last long🤗.
@@nancykunkler7403 Thank you for your comment! I am so glad to hear you are enjoying the weather!! These last few weeks have been hot. I too will be glad when it cools down a little.
Thank you for sharing your plans! Coeur d'Alene is an incredible place to live. If you have any questions or need tips about moving here, feel free to ask.🌲🏡😊
I thought you were being sarcastic until I saw your username. Because of the policies put into place by the D super majority, we are having more people leaving the state than coming in for the first time in our states history. Your suggestion is to export those terrible policies and ideas to other states. Right. 😅
Folks, if coming from Cali, you came for a reason. Blue policies ruined Cali as well as many other blue run cities in other states in the US, like Portland, Chicago, New York... Vote Red!

Mental illness is sad. Human blue viruses infected Cali and now they are moving to other states to infect. You can't make this up.
Always Vote Red! Cali people moving to North Idaho are very conservative and will vote RED! Go Trump!! California Conservative!!
