    This WAS a beautiful area. Now developers have bought out all the prairie and the cost of living is absolutely ridiculous. Families can't even afford a small, older home because so many people have moved in driving up the costs. They have been cutting down all the trees and putting in condos and apartments along the river, so the beautiful scenery is gone now. People used to be kind, now it's all out of staters bringing in their greed and rushed mentalities. Traffic is a nightmare! The easy going laid back attitudes that made this area so appealing is gone. The drug problem is increasing, people ODing left and right, homeless starting to show up on corners. I've been here since 2017 and I've watched it go downhill VERY rapidly. Only the super rich can afford to live comfortably here anymore, the rest of us are being pushed out. As far as politics, North Idaho was fairly conservative but now more liberal mentality has taken over causing a lot of divide. (for the record, I'm more Independent). Schools are overcrowded as well.

    I despise liberals so Coeur d' Alene is right for me!! Conservatives are WHY I'm moving there, to be around other far right conservatives, I'll do everything I can to make liberals want to leave. Lack of diversity is another HUGE PLUS why I LOVE Coeur d' Alene!!! Not much opportunites for higher learning? YES!! Not so many younger people around!! YES YES YES!! Limited Job opportunities, YES!! I won't be working so less jobs mean less people, YES!! High cost of living?? I'm leaving Seattle which is one of the most expensive cities to live in, living cost in Coeur d'Alene is MUCH cheaper than Seattle, another plus! Harsh winters? I LOVE SNOW and I ski, snow also keeps the rotten drivers off the road, with my 4wd new 4Runner I can get anywhere. Limited cultural activities, who care, again that fact will hopefully keep people away, crowded Summers? Try Seattle in the Summer, it's got to be much worse than Coeur d'Alene, if I want to go camping or hiking I'll just drive 50 to 100 miles away and do it there. Limited public transportation, another PLUS!, hopefully that also keeps people away! Limited nightlife, another plus that will hopefully keep young people away. ALL of your reasons for not wanted to move to Coeur d'Alene are reasons WHY I want to move there. Thank you for the video telling me why I want to live there.

    Severe kkk racism (worse further North) predatory employers (they will treat you like a slave, especially day labor) that don't want to pay promised wages., A predatory shelter: not enough beds for winter, forced labor (they say voluntary labor, but if you miss a day of labor they boot you to the street). Spokane is a hotbed of racism, cristal meth, and rednecks.

    So this is 15th to 16th between Kathleen and Dalton? The link doesn't show the schools. Why not just list the schools? There should only be three: elem, middle and hs. Then people can also apply for magnet and charter.

    • @LivingNorthIdaho
      @LivingNorthIdaho 8 หลายเดือนก่อน

      The street changes names when you get over that way- It is North of Shadduck Ln, South of Dalton, and between 15th and 16th. You would need to put in an address to get the schools. Yes there would be 3 schools but our district does change the boundaries so I don't want to put in a video what it might be today and then have them change it and not be giving the correct information.

    Why do people want to move to North Idaho? Is it any better than the rest of the state?

    • @LivingNorthIdaho
      @LivingNorthIdaho ปีที่แล้ว

      Well a few years ago what caused a lot of people to move here was the home prices. Now a lot of people move here for all the recreational activities we have. There are a lot of different areas in the state and one should explore what each has to offer.

    • @PatrickThreewit
      @PatrickThreewit ปีที่แล้ว

      @@LivingNorthIdaho A couple months ago I phoned the CDA Chamber of Commerce and talked with a lady who was concerned with the rise of the conservative Christian movement there. I talked to someone at a school district who was scared that the Christian Right was taking over their schools. Your area does have a growing reputation for being extreme right wing, especially when Rawles talks about the American Redoubt being centralized in your area. The advertising on You-tube by realtors is probably bringing a lot of people to your area. I think that is great because then we won't have all those people coming to our region. But, in my not too liberal area, in the past month I have gotten into some heated discussions with white evangelical Christian nationalist move-ins from California and I've noted two sort of housing developments with very fancy new homes which is a bad sign. So I encourage people to go to CDA and north. Keep up the good work, North Idaho.

    Why is low ethnic diversity a "Con"? What's wrong with people of the same ethnicity, community values, and backgrounds wanting to live amongst each other? Have you lived anywhere else? There's a reason people are moving TO Idaho from California and not the other way around. Want to see the "Pros" of ethnic diversity, come live in CA for a while. Go drop your kids off at school where it looks like a third world country. Try being nice and talk to the new neighbors as they walk swiftly down the sidewalk only to be met by a scowled confused look because they don't speak English. Oh, and the voting... You have no idea - but keep trashing North Idaho because "Lack of diversity"...

    I used to live in Hayden Idaho. Lived over on North Ash Street. I was on a quarter acre lot and paid about $87,000 for our house. We moved to Colorado in 1999 and sold that little house for about $94,000. When I was looking at that house the other day it was valued at about 487 thousand. It just blows my mind that Hayden Idaho has gotten so expensive over the years. My wife and I had considered moving back to North Idaho from Colorado since we still have most our family up there but it just doesn't make sense due to the high prices. The median income in Colorado Springs where I live is around $89,000 a year and housing is much less expensive per square foot in Colorado even with mountain views. I still love North Idaho and we visit as much as we can and there are times I wish I could live there but I just think it is way overpriced now.

I purchased my house for $140k in 2004 and now manufactured homes are selling for more than that. I am blown away at some of the prices when I show homes. I hope you eventually get to make it back here but housing and median income sounds much better where are you are at. Have a great week!

    The housing bubble crash is coming.... Those graphs say it all. Going to be 2008 all over again.

      There is already a softening starting to happen in the market. It will be very interesting to keep on eye on the market especially with interest rates starting to go up.

    Do you have any real estate predictions for 2021?

    • @LivingNorthIdaho

      Zach Ginn - As for the real estate market - I do think that interest are going to rise after November. Which will make an adjustment as some people are not going to be able to purchase those “first time” homes. Less demand and I believe there will be more supply- which will make an adjustment- not a huge adjustment but at least a little bit. I do hear rates are going to be 6-8% by 2025- which will take a hit on the market. As for the Coeur d’ Alene real estate - I think that one big snow storm and most of the people moving in today will moving out just as quickly. We are do for a really big snow storm/ bad winter coming up. Most of the people moving here right now will not know what they are in for when it does hit. Again more supply and there will be less demand. I don’t think this market will go very far down but there will be an adjustment.
