The Science Of Finding Your Reach (Manny Pacquiao)

  • Keith Thurman stated that Manny Pacquiao had T-Rex arms jesting with the legend that he did not have enough reach... Turned out, those arms were part of his advantage. Hitting like a solid stack of bricks, Keith Thurman found out the hard way. (Film Study)
Heroes cannot exist without adversity. Adversity has always been a close companion to Manny Pacquiao. From struggling on the streets with no food, to fighting for his nation at age 40, the man exists as an inspiration to us all... A hero who overcame the odds time and time again regardless of what the world had to say about him. After his recent bout vs Keith Thurman, Manny once again shocked the world standing victories VS a much younger undefeated opponent. Truly the man is a spectacle we should all take inspiration from, but before that, what is he actually doing? Why does Manny Pacquiao punch so hard? What techniques is he using? He's said to hit like a solid stack of bricks, what's the deal here? Could Mike Tyson provide some insight? Thank you for joining me on this breakdown as we take a closer glance.

I could not speak for Ali but I was able to catch the tail end of Tyson's career, and that man was an absolute beast. His fights were electric must-see events. Being the Heavyweight champ who was destroying opponents left and right, he was universally regarded as the baddest man on the planet! But his reign was relatively short, so Pacman edges him in terms of sustained dominance through the years and through multiple weight classes. I mean, just imagine: Pac has captured a legitimate championship belt 35 pounds from when he first started, 20 years apart - at 40 years old! Absolutely ridiculous ü

I’ve look up to Manny Pacquiao my whole life... I went through racism as a Filipino in the early 2000s in AZ when it was less diverse and got bullied growing up. When I watched him he inspire me to fight. Thank you for showing this, and thank Manny for being hope in my life when I was close to the edge. Literally.

"Beware of an old man in a profession where men usually die young"
Old warriors did not get old by accident; they got old by being wise, having the right knowledge, and being tough. Never underestimate an old man who has grown up in a rough profession or a rough environment.
These men have been around. They have done things, and experienced things, that you probably have never even thought about. They are tough, their minds are tough, and they have the knowledge, the skill, and the will to finish you off, if you force them to do so. A boy will fight you, but a older man will hurt you.

He was like this for years until he got controversial close call fights such as his fight while in Australia. He stopped winning unanimously and he finally got it in his head that he won't win if the fight isn't unanimous.

The early Pac was almost one dimensional. He would jump in and out and throw a straight left. That was basically it. I believe after his loss to Morales is when he began adding in the use of his right which took him to the next level or his reign of terror began. However you want to put it. He proceeded to dominate and claim 8 weight divisions, only fighter in history to do so.

I remember it being a Saturday in 2007 when I first saw Manny Pacquiao fighting on a regular Cable Channel that I wanna call HBO. I turned through the channels and was surprised to see an Asian Boxer because out of all my years of watching Boxing as a child, I never saw a Professional Asian Boxer so I was interested in seeing how good Manny Pacquiao was. To my pleasant surprise I became an instant supporter, and he's been my favorite active since.
He is truly inspiring to see inside and out of Boxing

Pacquiao's stamina may be due to the geographical location. As a child, he lived in the mountains and jogs every morning. As the altitude goes higher, the oxygen levels decreases. This makes it harder to sustain a more physical activity. Pacquiao's body gets used to this and probably have adapted to sustain tedious activities. During fights (mostly in Las Vegas) he gets more oxygen because he is closer to the sea level and it gives him more power and stamina.

And when He was recently asked who's the best boxer He ever fought, his answer was Mayweather. 🤣PMSL
I watched his fight again with Mayweather n compare to his fight with Pacquiao. He even believed, He won the fight vs Mayweather while He got dropped at least 3x vs Pacman and had stoppaged near end of 12th round with much bloodied, beaten up face.
Yet Mayweather was best fighter He ever fought.😁🤣
I never get what are the basis of his answer. LOL.😅

I mean Pac should be fighting guys that are going to make him the biggest pay days, and add to his legacy without taking too much damage if possible.
