I think because he got rocked with that left from Thurman. Like saying like.. yea that was a good one and then proceeds to give him a knockdown lesson.
I can’t believe that a 40 year old Pacquiao fought one of the new generation’s elite welterweights. I know Thurman had a record of injury and layoff, but when have you seen Mayweather do something like this? After being a champ in 4 separate decades, Pacquiao still willing to fight the elite. Wow
Paq was not really willing to fight the elite. If that was the case then he would’ve fought Bud when he was calling him out. He wanted to fight Spence because he knew he could cash out on him.
Manny Pacquiao at age 40, turning 41 on December 2019 was already too old to fight a young, natural welterweight champion, a decade younger. His reflexes wasn't there, so was the volume of punches to which he was known for. This fight was close. But Pacquiao clearly won, leaving Thurman with no excuses for his first loss. And this is why Manny Pacquiao is the GOAT of boxing. The Pacman became a Flyweight Champion in 1998, a Super Welterweight Champion in 2010, by that time winning World Titles in 8 Weight Divisions. And winning his 12th major World Title in 2019. Thank you Manny for all the triumphs and entertainment you gave us.

I had to rewatch this fight. At 40 to beat a young undefeated champ in his prime is amazing!! Thurman had a good second half but he needed a ko to win the fight. PacMan is fearless n gotta b considered the greatest boxer of all time!!!
I mean, even if he’s not the GOAT, he has an argument for being so. Only one boxer in history has scaled the divisions Pac has scaled (Langford), but nobody has had the longevity that Pac had (not Armstrong, not Ali, not Duran, not Robinson, etc.).
I hear everyone talking about Manny’s speed and power and yes that’s great. But what Manny has is something you can’t learn you can’t teach you’re born with it or not and that’s a incredible will to win and heart and determination! A refusal to quit and a grit that I don’t think we will see much more of unfortunately. Im filipino american and grew up watching his fights live on TV. My dad never missed a Pacquiao fight. The evolution: Manny's Ring walk and intro, his emotional fitness before his the first bell, and how the crowd is realizing that they are just about to witness a ring legend fight before their eyes. Manny's smile and upbeat confidence, especially in the intro, shows that he has full control of the inner killer beast we have known him by. It's very electrifying
One of the greatest fight of Pacman in his 4rth decades of Warship, the reunion of him and Freddie Roach + Keith Thurman didn't failed to entertain the audience as a boxer🤛💪...
That intro though was 🔥 It's like Manny as a boxer has this aura of being a legendary martial artist that's already beaten lots of masters throughout the years, I dunno why but he has that kind of vibe to him in that moment.
I've rewatched and analyzed several Pacman fights especially his past prime battles, but this version of 40 Year Old Pacman is different, the way he move is more than just a veteran but a legend goes to show that he came from hell just to prepare the fight against Thurman.
Paquiao bukan hanya petinju yg hebat namun cerita hidup tentang sejarah tinju dunia. Ramah di luar namun garang di atas ring bagi semua yg dia hadapi...dia idola dunia dan juga idolaku...👍👍
Look at 27:38 Thurman throws a left hook (lazy), Pacquaio responds with a right hook, but look at the speed and power. now those are the margin between 'good' and 'great' ladies and gents, they are very tight.
It’s not even Manny’s A-Game anymore. It’s his B-Game beating a hungry, young, undefeated and (definitely) strong fighter in Keith Thurman. Thurman puts up a very strong A-game, but Manny’s a tactician now. Experience won him this fight. Max Kellerman was right when he said that Manny’s B-Game is better than many fighter’s A-Game today. Dang... Manny’s a beast. Sadly, there’ll be no Spence Vs. Pacman on Aug 21. Ugas v Pac is good, but not much as exciting as a Crawford or a Spence fight for him.
@@stellbell2.091 I don't think so for me he is in the Best shape but I think the reason why he does'nt show the game of speed you are saying is because PacMan is outspeed him and outbox him in term of strategy and skills even Manny is not already in his Prime Condition he is still a Beast and a Monster that enough to defeat those Boxer in this Era in their Prime. Takot kasi si Manny sumugod
The boxing world misses Manny, the GOAT.
Wow
Canelo???
@@sonichedgehog615 really?
Paq was not really willing to fight the elite. If that was the case then he would’ve fought Bud when he was calling him out. He wanted to fight Spence because he knew he could cash out on him.

I was worried man bc he always smiles and laughs and he didn't I thought it would affect him diff. But he took it personally and came for glory

How can't you love this boxer.manny.
I watched this many times. Love Manny

A refusal to quit and a grit that I don’t think we will see much more of unfortunately.

That wasn't the best of Thurman either. I dont know why, but he just doesn't have the quickness and lateral movement he used to have.
Obviously we can’t see any Manny’s A game due to his age and father time but as you said, his B game is still enough for these young boxers.
