@Ruturaj Shiralkar Riddhi Sen got for Bengali Movie " Nagar Kirtan" in 2017 as it mentioned in this video... I thought Akshay Kumar for Rustam... Riddhi Sen performed excellently in Nagar Kirtan and beat Nana Pathekar ..
Have your ever loved an actor so much when you see them on screen you just feel joy... And have a lot of respect for the actor... Jimmy shergil, Nana patekar, Nawaz bhai, pankaj tripathi, irrfan khan, Rajkumar Rao Ayushman, sanjay mishra, kangana ranaut just to name a few.. i always feel this way about them..
Adding more to the list Vijay Raaz, ashitosh Rana, manoj pawa, kalki, siyani gupta, shweta tiwari, Neena Gupta, kokana sen, ratna patak shah, Nasiruddin shah, Pankaj kapoor, Supriya Pathak many others
Bengali parallel films are any day good..Movies like Gotro, Mahalaya, Nagar Kirtan, Bijaya have done great..Even mainstream actors are engaged in movies like Sajhbati, Kabir, Asur...We can produce good content but the only problem is the lack of audience. We prefer these kind of movies where the mass, people outside the so called intellectual belt prefers commercial baseless movies..

I love both the movies. But trust me I I've only watched thanmathra once. I can't bear to watch it again. Even if it comes on tv I'll change the channel. Because that's how much impact it had on me. Even now just by hearing the name of the movie and thinking about it gives me a lump in my throat. And kazcha another movie that will always remain with you forever. That sad truth the climax leaves with you makes you think about it the most unthinkable moments and feel sad about it.
Jammy since you are taking interest in recent bengali movies... I would highly recommend you to watch nirbaak and shobdo both starring Ritwik Chakraborty... Your mind will be blown i guarantee you....
I dont think Jammy is looking for films like posto.. the story is definitely good but i dont think the story is layered... Its my opinion though... No doubt posto features legendary actor Soumitra Chattopadhyay (my favourite bengali hero of all time) and lily Chakraborty along with jisshu and the performances are amazing... But the story lacks depth... Kontho and asha jaoar majhe is a good option.... But as far as i have understood about jammy's film choices he will absolutely lose his mind after watching nirbaak.... The concept of nirbaak is unique and its an asset for audiences of parallel cinema

Natasamrat is one of the best and finest movies ever made! Mostly when we bring literary text to the screen, it's original beauty is lost in that adaptation. That's why, many times people are not happy with film adaptations. But in Marathi, both Natasamrat and Katyar Kaljat Ghusli have successfully retained that beauty of original text. While Natasamrat is the most famous play , featuring Dr.Shriram Lagoo, though old, yet people's all time favourite, it wasn't easy to recreate. But Nana and Mahesh Manjarekar have done a total justice. Katyar is an old play, still those songs fascinate people. But the movie is too good. It has almost all songs, and new addition songs are also great and go well with plot. This is how adaptation is made.
I'm non Marathi boy but on friend recommendation I saw NATSAMRAT in theatre I was speechless ,Now I also sees Marathi movie's There is some Marathi best movie's deool , Nude, Fandry, Jogwa, katyar kaljat ghusali Etc

Thanks a lot for making this video, I would recommend you to watch the movies by Shiboprosad and Nandita Mukherjee's Windows production. Their movies include Praktan, Haami, Ramdhanu, Konththo, Gotro and various other good films. These are mainly based on the lives of middle class people in different scenarios and has a lot of great messages that would make up for a good video idea.
Nagarkirtan should've easily nominated for Oscars. A tremendously heart wrenching movie. Riddhi Sen was the perfect recipient for the National Award for best actor.
I haven't seen the film but based on the trailer, songs from the soundtrack and the images I've seen posted on twitter, the Telugu film Mahanati looks absolutely spectacular. The leading lady Keerthy Suresh also won the National Award for her performance too. I believe it is available on Amazon Prime so I am definitely going to be checking it out and would recommend it to you too!!
Njan Marykutty is a must watch. Jaysurya has given his heart and soul for the movie and I was heartbroken that all award functions conveniently ignored his performance. Vikirthi is also a beautiful movie inspired from a real life incident. This movie is on Netflix
Went through a bit in the comment section and found just what I expected (and what is normal). Bengalees praising Nagarkirtan, Marathis praising Natsamrat, Assamese praising Bulbul can sing and so on. This is one of the problems with regional films (and which is quite normal). Due to the language barrier people mostly remain limited to their regional films and hindi films. I have watched 3 of those movies among the 5. And every single one of them are gems. And no, you don't compare a sapphire with a ruby. Both are gems. Hopefully with the OTT platform gradually gaining traction, people will get more access to movies from other regions. All I can recommend, watch all 5. Perhaps you have a gem in your hand, but missing on another gem?
I watched Nagar kirtan yesterday and must admit sucha terrific movie it is...! Riddhi is a phenomenal actor and so was everyone in the movie. The climax got me teary eyed and left a lump in the throat thinking how an entire community of human being is still suffering for their basic rights and genuine desires. It's 2020 and maybe in metros things have changed a lil better for the marginalized people but in smaller cities the reality is way too harsh...a must watch for all the sensible minds! ♥️🙏
Sudani from Nigeria is a movie that satisfy all categories of people ..a film which no one can find any mistake. I watched movie in the theatre first day .. everyone in the theatre are so excited after that movie , because no one really expected such a beautiful movie .
I would also recommend you to watch the film Shabdo by Kaushik Ganguly. The story is about a foley artist played by Ritwick Chakraborty and his struggle in life. It is a very different kind of film. I think you would definitely like it. Another film which I would recommend is Chotuskone by Srijit Mukherji. It is a thriller movie, available on Hoichoi.

The old times of the Hindi Film Industry are eternally missed.....the real passion was then.....a revolutionarist is massively demanded...bring back the panache of songs which touch our hearts and stop chasing fame and money...good work will always receive positive fame and bring the perks as well!
I watched Nagarkirtan at a Bengali Film festival in Bangalore. It did something to me I have seldom felt I had inside. Something indescribable. I can understand people reacting in different manners toward the same thing, but as soon as the credits are rolling why do a lot of people feel the urge to give a standing ovation with claps. The ending of this movie definitely does not make me clap. I stood up out of respect but could not find any reason to clap like everyone else did. The ending deserved silent thought and anything but roaring applause in my opinion.
I want to mention Vikram Gokhale sir’s performance in Natsamrat here..after watching his work n craft in this film..l really started to feel more respect towards real actors rather than heroes in films..n Nana Patekar sir without a doubt is great..and Jammy thank you for making such content..u r awesome
Kumbalangi nights is another good one. Thank you for calling out the portrayals of Africans.. excruciating to watch. Same goes to the portrayals of richly melanated Indians. As an African who grew up with Indians and one who consumes a steady diet of Indian (Regional particularly) movies and music, Kumbalangi Nights and Sudani From Nigeria were refreshing. Moment I saw an African I started cringing, but the producers and directors really redeemed themselves.
Whenever we talk about Assamese films, our focus often goes(limits!) to Rima das( village rockstar, Bulbul can sing), Bhaskar Hazarika( Aamis) etc who are recent and doing fantastic. If you like them, then I must recommend you to go for an another Assamese gem Jahnu Barua (director of acclaimed Hindi movie-Maine Gandhi ko nahin mara ). His original ideas with veteran actor Bishnu Khargharia create something awesome which you may haven't experienced yet! The way you described "Natsamrat" and its plot made me wanna cry. Can't imagine how beautiful the movie must be ❤️
I have watched Natsamrat movie and it is filled with drama, emotions and a beautiful but strong acting from Nana Patekar.

@@danthetracker It needs some time.If u can remember a few days ago maximum movies of tollywood was copied from here and there, when people realised that they prefer the original one rather then the copied. And they find the industry interesting so people showed their ass to the bong industry. But now a days quality is coming back in our movie. people are realising it slowly. It will take time to gain back the faith again!

Watch the malayalam films "Thanmathra" starring Mohanlal and "Kazhcha" starring Mammootty both directed by Blessi. The director has truly explored the acting skills of both the gems of malayalam film industry
Also kontho and posto
also asha jaoar majhe
I dont think Jammy is looking for films like posto.. the story is definitely good but i dont think the story is layered... Its my opinion though... No doubt posto features legendary actor Soumitra Chattopadhyay (my favourite bengali hero of all time) and lily Chakraborty along with jisshu and the performances are amazing... But the story lacks depth... Kontho and asha jaoar majhe is a good option.... But as far as i have understood about jammy's film choices he will absolutely lose his mind after watching nirbaak.... The concept of nirbaak is unique and its an asset for audiences of parallel cinema

he hasnt even mentioned that but okay
Thanks for letting us know of these cinematic gems. On a side note, Aamis is also a one of a kind film,a concept which hasn't been attempted till date

Sudani from Nigeria 👌👌👌
Mammootty 👍👍👍
Finally Jamwal saw PERANBU.
Nice to see you appreciating these underrated films❤️❤️
