    Whilw in the Air Force I deliberately got oversized parkas (and M65 field jackets) since appearance was not my priority but comfort surely was. That let me wear whatever I liked beneath for work (movement makes one warmer) then don the parka for more sedentary tasks (like riding in open aircraft tugs on tow crews). Likewise oversized field jackets permitted multiple jacket liners (with edges sewn together to reduce bunching). Dress for how you really use clothing. All my parkas and field jackets got (and get) two cans of Scotchgard taking care to treat the whole garment including armpits and collar.

      Glad you found it helpful. I wish we had done this one sooner to avoid sizing issues. When you are ready for you next one please send us a message at support@venturesurplus.com and we will discount your order :) Beware, we only have 1 or 2 size large left right now.

    I was given a Rothco N-3B in a medium for this Christmas by a friend. I typically buy xl's in jackets so upon first seeing the size I was thinking there was no way it would fit. Her husband, while shorter than I by a foot-ish in height, is A LOT bigger around than I am. It fit him no issue. And it surprised me how well it fit me and still gave me enough room to move in without feeling like I might tear it.
    The zipper sits about waist level, which I am used to in "propper fitting" field jackets but because of the tail it sits like I am wearing a large or extra large in a normal jacket. And for the insulation of the thing, it is actually quite light weight. I have a Carhartt like jacket that feels like I am wearing a 20 lbs ruck and isn't nearly as warm to wear.

    I'd made a comment awhile back about having one of these issued to me in the Air Force. Again, I just might have to acquire one of these again, after Christmas. That, and my 25-year old daughter wants one too.

      don't wait too long, I think we are almost out of size large and then we are down to just medium and smalls

    The guy in the video looks like large size would be better option. At 5'8" and 160, I have the large regular size with ample unrestricted movement, and the ability to wear extra layers underneath in the extreme cold and wind where I live when snowblowing. In this scenario, a little bigger size is better. Outside in -30F below zero and never been cold, in hours of work snowblowing.

    Unrelated question, but I see you had some SPEAR BALCS vests on your website back in the day. Any way you could get some more SPEAR stuff in sometime soon? Thanks.

    I'm good with my N3B Size Large, made by Greenbrier Industries Inc. DLA 100-83- C-0395 I'm 186cm tall got some 80 kg. The Jacket still looks like new and works exellent. Far better product than comercial Alpha, Rothco etc. My second parka is Type N3B/ F
    DSA- 100-295-N3 Spiewak& Sons - Golden Fleece with genuine fur ruff. Made in U.S.A. , too. Also, great one but too " fancy" for my taste. ;)

    Heck I want a little air space with my coats. I'd prefer a large . 5ft9 156lbs. then I can put other stuff underneath. it looked like your arms were a little short.

      @VentureSurplus  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      depends on how cold it is. It could most likely be worn by itself and keep you warm down to about 0-20 degrees.
