Just got a modern reproduction. It’s not stylish but it’s unbelievably warm. Great for Irish winters. It’s about 3C here at the moment but wind chill , no sun and high humidity mean it’s miserable.
From my understanding, the earlier variants had natural materials (mouton, beaver, wool etc), which were later replaced by synthetics, which I suppose is similar to what modern AI sells these days.
I have 1 1990 Greenbrier and a 2003 PJ Industries N-3B, Both are original US Gov Issue, I prefer the Greenbrier because it has inset Cuffs the PJ Industries Cuffs are sewn in differantly, Both are the -60*f Originals Also my Greenbrier is a lighter Sage Green and the PJ Industries one is closer to Olive Green, I bought them both brand new, The Original N-3B's are everything the Snow Mantra wished it could be, I know because I own one of them too.
@@MakkerHeineken Yeah, he either got an absolute bargain which is entirely possible or he was scammed. I'm not sure if he said he got it from Ireland. However 30 USD for a 1980s N-3B sounds incredibly cheap. I don't live far from Ireland and second hands are about $80, depends on the condition. New ones I've seen for around $180 minimum.
I just got an N3B today from Americana pipedream, I bought it from a random Jacket grab bag and i'm ecstatic
Oh damn, lucky you, what a steal!

American clothing for men has zippers on the right and the women's have it on the left.
Interesting, thanks for sharing!
Yes, same for fly zippers and buttons as well!
Interesting, I didn't know it
Yes (same for the UK) and I believe the reason is that men would often dress themselves and women would have their maids dress them (I think…)
Why didn't you show us the "snorkel" hood, fully employed?
My bad totally forgot about that
Can you link the site where you found info how to read the serial number?
Here ya go

Bought and sold for $30
@@subtlesartorialist thats a crazy man, they are selling for $250 new and $150 preowned
Yeah mine's an 80s variant which tends to run cheap... Pre 80s are def more sought after.

Good video, but you talk way too fast which in combination with the accent makes it real difficult to understand what you're saying. 😢
I hear you! Thanks for the feedback!
