This is our final video from the selection we filmed at GDC 2019. Thanks for your patience in getting them out. We're almost done with Noclip Summer Jam, our 4th birthday party / funding drive. Help us film more stuff by buying a digital ticket or lanyard at store.noclip.video. Or don't. You do you! Times are weird!

Back when Mark of the Ninja first released I left a comment on a social media post that I couldn't wait to buy the game, when I had the money to do so. I didn't discover it for a year because it got caught as a spam message, but one of the people who worked for them sent me a DM with a code for Shank saying I would have something to play until I could buy MOTN. That left a last impression on me and i've bought every Klei game since.

I own and love their 5 latest games (with all DLCs) and everytime they announce something new i get excited, i just trust them. Also love the DS animations on their TH-cam channel. • @AkshayKumarX
      @AkshayKumarX 4 ปีที่แล้ว +21

@@desplanchesstevan1418 In defence of the ambiguity surrounding Don't Starve and Oxygen Not Included, the core design of these games is meant to encourage exploration and getting out of a tough spot through trial and error.
I wish I could go back to not knowing anything about the world of Don't Starve because I spent too much time trying to be a perfectionist that I learned every mechanic of the game through wikis and trapped myself in a repetitive pattern of what works and what doesn't and the game became a chore.
You don't really need to learn about the lore and mechanics of Don't Starve through the wiki, just enjoy the world itself. In regards to Oxygen not Included, I would say the game is infinitely more complex but also very elaborate when compared to Don't Starve. You just need to resist the urge of trying to perfect everything and learning the meta of the game from the moment you first start playing it.
Just enjoy the sense of awe and wonder that comes with experiencing new stuff in game.

@@AkshayKumarX Oh, I knew, I'm not new to this kind og game/experience, and that's one of the thing that drew me to ONY in the first place.
And don't get me wrong, I quite like the game, even when I just played it maybe 1 or 2 hour (I understand what he has to offer, and I find it more than great).
It's just that I couldn't. Couldn't understand a single thing to help me understand other things, and so on.
This is the first time where I understood that a game is not for me, and just gave up

Yeah Oxygen Not Included is quite literally the biggest homework I ever got (maybe besides BA thesis). I took it upon myself to translate the game because I always wanted to be somehow involved with game production but I was never much of an IT guy so I figured, I studied translation, this is probably the best option to work on games I will ever get. After a short research it turns out Klei goes out of their way to make it easy for translators, they link you a really nice little CAT tool (computer assisted translation), they hand you a template in game files and it's all you. I can say I am grateful for their Don't Starve games and DLCs first and foremost, but also Oxygen Not Included and the fact this is where I began my game translation journey. Hope it gets me somewhere.

I have probably another 150 hours in Oxygen Not Included and I keep coming back to it every once in a while. I wish I could get into Don't Starve in the same way but it's never clicked with me. I'm just waiting for one of my friends to invite me to play the multiplayer and explain how it really works but it seems that friend doesn't exist.

    • @badredraws

I absolutely love Don't Starve Together. I do agree that it's trickier without people to actively play with, though. A friend of mine gave me the game and invited me into a small discord chat, which eventually became a server. We still play almost every weekend, even after a year.
Due to it being multiplayer, bosses have increased hp and some aspects are harder, although it's still quite possible to do it yourself - even with well over a thousand hours sunk into this game there are still some bosses I haven't got around to trying yet.
When I first started out DST I was terrible at the game, but after a couple tries (okay, maybe more than a couple) I realised what to do and what not to do, and even playing now there's just something addictive about starting a new world and just exploring, gathering things and building a base.
One thing I've noticed is that different characters have different playstyles; for example, Wigfrid only eats meat, but starts with gear so she can start hunting immediately. Walter and Maxwell are great for sanity but health is a problem, and Walter is slightly more unique in that aspect because he only loses sanity when he gets hurt. It's really fun for me to play different characters and see how the game changes - currently I'm playing Wigfrid and also awaiting her rework to see how that changes her.

I'm so bad at don't starve but I LOVE it. I love how you find different things all the time and it's not repetitive as it's a randomly generated. Also the ART is impeccable as well as the sound effects/music, it's just so nice to look at 😂

I think don't starve is probably one of the more underrated titles. It was free on PS plus during the ps4 launch and I still play it to this day.

he said that they want to make a game with new experience to feel but actually i played dont starve together because it reminds me of old school mmo games. when you need to grind for the bosses, solve the dungeon (ruins), and the so many new content updates they give. thank you, klei

I remember stumbling to Eets on 2flashgames(dot)com way back (I guess, 2002?) and it totally blew my mind. The art style, the gameplay & puzzle solving is just fun to experience. You can really tell that Klei Entertainment nailed the gameplay experience wherein failing is just part of learning, especially with MOTN and Don't Starve (which my wife & I loved so much). Totally underrated!

I played Don't Starve exclusively for about five years starting with the Google free-to-play. I literally couldn't get interested in anything else. Now playing Rimworld but I'll be back for more Don't Starve someday. Such an underappreciated game. I always play as the original character.

I've been purchasing every single one of their games since Shank because of their gorgeous visual styles. The gameplay of their game, though, is the cherry on top. It really is what made me stick to these games for years. Anything Klei does, I'll purchase. It's simple as that. Mark of the Ninja is my personal favorite.

What i really liked about don't starve and klei was the first trailers for the game, don't know if someone follow then since the announce of Don't starve but they put so much work on hidden things on the trailers, binary codes, hidden url's, a bunch of hidden stuff on images and trailers, i was so excited to discover the things with the community, was amazing, i love so much don't starve

Mark of the Ninja is one of the most pure and compact stealth games I've ever played. It really makes you FEEL like Batman. 9/10. Good game. I've also really been enjoying Griftlands and I highly recommend it for people who got hopelessly addicted to Slay the Spire like I did.

  • @pirat87pl

I think I own all Klei games and I want to applaud one more thing about them - the pricing. Their games were always very affordable! Don't Starve had a 2-pack for like 12€!! The DLCs were like 5€. I think Oxygen Not Included was like 25€ and was the most expensive one (worth every penny btw). I could always afford to get their games, even if things were a bit tight - unlike most AAA, especially now.
