I prefer a loading butt for chest loading when freediving, I found the original Vecta handle painful to load after a few days, due to bruising. Hope they start selling them more widely with the loading butt (it would be good if the butt were removable, like OMers).

dyneema also makes shooting less noisy compared to metal or cable type that hits the speargun everytime you shoot railguns are the best whether it is a rob allen or sporasub viper extreme ( which gave birth to south african rabitech stealth ) or else there are quite a few brand names who came to using rails that extra piece of plastic at the end of the handle sure helps when you don't have a suit with a chest protection pad

stainless shafts also bend easy when you hit rocks witch is the bane of newbies.
you can hit rocks all day with a spring steel shaft and all you do is blunt the tip a little.
stainless shaft also can bend when you hit a big/strong fish and get that side pull on the shaft(if you don't kill it outright),but if you have a slip tip you can avoid this.
    p.s only 15,300 views wtf

With RA guns now a realistic choice for med spearos when is the company going to release a version of their guns with a reverse trig mech? I have an RA tuna 100cm and with that mech the gun would be perfect. Durable, precise and no bs gun. Reverse trig mech soon,it would open up the med market even more

I used to spearfish Med for many years and now I am in murky waters in the Gulf since a coupe of nice years. Despite vis being not really nice always, I mainly use a RA 120. Today I would use this manly in the Med too (depends on your target fish, environment, etc surely). I guess using a bit longer gun (a bit less maneuverability maybe) would be giving you the extra acceleration time (as the barrel is longer) compared to inverse mech to impulse the shaft properly. Saying this there is Meandros kits with inverse trigger mechs available that you can use to tune your RA, plus using different shafts where the shark fins are further behind will give you again some cm. Safe diving! :)

Reverse trigger mech for the RA railguns would be a great tweak - although they are already powerful for their size. Time to switch to all carbon barrels I reckon too.

I know Rob from his shop here in SA. Don’t mistake shy for being rude. Rob will take anyone who asks on his boat and he won’t even dive. He’s always willing to talk, listen and teach if you willing to listen. His staff are very loyal and believe in him and his product. Very proud of not only what he’s done to our community the world over but his humility and generosity. Well respected by those who know him.
