I just want to add one more thing (I hope this isn't rude): Byleth's class action also powers up the respective elemental strong attacks as if Byleth has the Essence of Light/Lightning/Fire ability equipped.
The reason behind Byleth possessing only 3 of the 6 elements unlike Mortal Savant is a weird choice, but it makes sense. In 3 Houses, Byleth only learns Light and Fire Magic, in addition to Thunder. It even seems to me like Byleth isn't very good with using lightning considering they don't summon very large bolts for their strong attacks.
Forgot to mention in this guide: Using the strong attacks that are associated with the element they create, while your sword is empowered with that element, will power up that attack.
Best moveset in the game, as far as I'm concerned, even if each strike is technically slower than Asura. Coupled with Byleth's Divine Pulse unique ability, each elemental strike is devastating even on higher difficulties (it's always great to have Shez paired up with Byleth).
Byleth’s Enlightened One class to me always felt like the successor to Yunobo’s play style from Age of Calamity since they both have that match-making mechanic for their strong attacks.
You can still learn any spell as any character through "Peer Training" (the adjutant in a pair-up can learn combat arts/spells from the controlled character, if the latter has raised them to Lv. 3, thus "mastering" them).
I could have sworn matching the sword element to the strong combos powers them up I very clearly remember that second launcher releasing 3 pillars of light when the sword was light infused.
One of my favorite classes to be honest. I will say (if I remember correctly) Essence of fire you get on him is a hinderance due to his class action changing to always being fire.
I don't think that's right. Essence of Fire doesn't change attacks to fire, it enhances fire attacks. I believe you're thinking of Fire Assist, which would be an ability an adjutant would have. Either that or equipping Edelgard's ability. But essence of fire doesn't change attack elements, only enhanced ones that are already fire.
@ShaneBrained man I'm excited for that one. I played this game a lot more than the hyrule warriors games but I feel done with it and I don't feel like I'm done with those other ones

Once I unlocked Byleth, they soon became my favorite moveset in Three Hopes.

If I'm not mistaken, Byleth doesn't learn ice and dark magic in three houses which might explain why they don't have it

You forgot one of the major parts of byleth. Using an attack of the element ya sword has amplifies it like the essence skills
I managed to force the ashen demon to surrender in all 3 routes.
