Sauvage Elixir is a throwback to those room filling scents of the 1990s. Used a 1ml decant on a cold winter's morning and it was was going ballistic the whole day. Still pushing off my skin after a shower. Could still get wafts of it next morning. 10/10

Just for reference, on the bottle it says it is a “Parfum Concentré.” The thing projects like an EDT and lasts all day like a Parfum. It’s a weird one in that sense.
From the description, being on the fougere lover side of things, the shower gel thought totally put me off. Of course, like you, I'm open to anything, if I smell it and like it I like it. But not something I'd seek out. A the price, for a shower gel scent, really a hard sell on paper. Another great review. Love that you aren't a 'snob' in your approach.

It felt very strong and long lasting BUT it felt like it didn't project that good considering the initial strength of the fragrance. What do you think AC? I found a deal for £77 for 60ml. While I also love the Parfum version more than the counterparts...I do happen to enjoy Elixir too. Performance is stellar too!
Interesting you say it's not even a flanker from the same line. I notice a lot of companies are doing this. Dior homme 2020 isn't the same line. This fragrance isn't the same and so many more. Companies are just using best selling brand names to sell new products. Good for marketing but kinda tricks the consumers. At least this one you say smells good.

looks like I'm going have to get the parfum. because I got the EDT, didn't like it and gave it away. i'm a Dior fan, and Sauvage was so disappointing that i didn't bother with EDP and Parfum. but elixir to me, is what Sauvage should have been from the start. I have it but I'm trying to sell it. It's not bad but it isn't great either. It's kind of synthetic and stuffy like Cedrat Boise. The citrus isn't realistic at all and the musk is a little too strong. Really it just smells a little cheap for what it is, there are better takes on Aventus out there.

A wonderful fragrance imo,haven’t tried the parfum maybe I should?, and agreed it certainly is not an Elixir in the fragrance sense , I think judging by the bottle being a very old chemist style and taking the old saying The Elixir of life meaning longevity and strength that Dior are Just using poetic license on the name ,although they have said it is the heaviest oil concentration they ever used in a fragrance?? The Parfum version is BRIGHTER- more orange at the top- more warm weather cool breeze oriented imo. Not sure why they call parfum elegant- its closer to the citrus edt. Elixr is closer to the EDP - they both have the same gourmand allure of sweetness. Never liked the parfum that much - it sort of smells like oranges and dog toes. And yes clap - the base has a weird off putting dry down. Elixr is a masterpieceee. Red twizzlers, spicy lavender, and rich realistic sandalwood oil. The sauvage dna is meant to be gourmand and alluring - I feel the edp & elixr reflect why the dna is better in a gourmand direction.
This to me is way to strong with the nutmeg. It's very linear as well stays the same the whole time which seems to last for days. Im acually mad at myself for buying it lol. I can't even wear it I dislike it so much. Got a few negative comments wearing it as well. All the woman I work with hated it even my wife said it stings her nose and kills her sense of smell Oh well I tried.
@@999triple4 depends which aspect of the two fragrance you want more pronounced. If you want the smoothness/spiciness of the elixir to be at the forefront spray second after you sprayed the edt. If you want the freshness of the edt to be more prominent spray after elixir has somewhat dried off. I don't own the elixir but I have smelled It. I layer fragrances all the time and I do this method quite a bit. For example I like mixing my angel man with Ch Prive. I normally spray A man first let it dry after 10-20 min then I spray my Ch Prive. In that way I have a home made A Man Pure Malt that I feel smell better than the genuine version. My girl loves it.
@@VLAD_P_ oh sorry forgot to mention if you want the elixir to be more prominent spray twice in one area then spray one of the edt. Then vice versa if you want the edt to be more prominent. That definitely has an impact on what aspects you want to be at the forefront.
I am guessing this is another European fragrance meant to sell to Middle Eastern customers? I am going to stick with my giant 200ml Sauvage EDT (birthday gift from wife). But my curiosity is piqued after watching the review -- definitely want to sample Elixir. 🤔

This smelled okay. Don’t understand the hype though, and still prefer the Parfum to this without question.
It's an aromatic fougere rapped in a thick shower gell smell with a sprinkle on the top of some spices.
