EberronBruce - I completely agree, but how would you know if they're tracking you? With so many people working from home now, employers are utilizing Microsoft Teams to monitor when you're active and inactive on your computer. It's shows you as Idle or 'away' if you even step away from your computer for five freaking minutes to take a piss! It's freaking ridiculous!
Having worked in operations I can tell you that I was taught to calculate standard employee productivity as 4.5-5hours out of 7 working hours per day. This is a conservative estimate and managers know it can be lower than this, especially in the office (people go out to grab coffee, have water-cooler conversations, go to the toilet, walk to and from meetings, have snacks, etc.) - the employee that felt productive by working 4 hours was not skewing the average by any means...
It's not only working from home, It's everywhere these companies are not respecting work hours. Many of these companies also are in your personal devices.
If you were working in an office would your boss be tracking your bathroom breaks, talking to colleagues etc? At the end of the day, if you are delivering accurate and timely work, who should care?
Hi, have you ever heard of an employer spying on an employees personal cell phone outside of work hours & then harrassing them at work by repeating things said outside of work? Ive had 2 employers do this & not sure how theyre able to do this
Hey! No, never heard of that before. It's a very alarming situation because it interferes with your personal life and even security. Are you sure they have access to your personal phone? Do you use your personal phone for job related issues?
Yes. They can’t resist gaslighting and it’s a horrible abuse. They are listening to your microphone. They can listen or they can use the AI to flag keywords and send audio clips to them.
I hope you answer. What about employers asking to video our workspace at home? I live in a third world country and we cannot afford a room as an office. I work in my bedroom where I sleep with my family. I do not feel comfortable sending them a video of my bedroom.
It's terrible what employers ask these days. Try to understand why they are asking you to do it. Are you taking a test, going through assessments, or are they uncertain about who is really performing the work? They probably ask you to show the room because they are trying to prevent cheating. In the absence of technological monitoring, they do it their own way. 🤪 It doesn't hurt to ask your employer why they are requesting it and how the videos will be used later. For me, it's a personal security risk. I believe your employer must provide you with guarantees that they can safely store your data.
@@InsideCorporatePlaybookNothing of the sort. I've been with them for more than 2 years now and definitely not taking any quiz or assessments. They suddenly asked for a 360 video to give them full picture of conduciveness of my workstation/workplace such as noise, or other possible distractions. It's not like I work in a call center where I talk to people. I only do data base update and its not even related to handling sensitive customer information as I only update chemical sheets.
Can they track my activity, like im connected to company wifi? They haven't installed any app in my laptop tho. But I worry hahaa coz i download animes 😅 haha
At our insurance corporation, sales suddenly declined during COVID-19 due to low productivity levels and working from home. We come to know about CleverControl, an employee monitoring software, after some research on employees. We realized employees were inefficient. We try to assist them by providing a different solution to boost productivity. As a result, our company's sales and productivity levels are hiked.

Any company requiring tracking software is a garbage company that you should not work for.

Results tell you if someone's been working. There's no need to have spyware installed on a personal device so you can micromanage them.

Ah, how not to have a work/life balance. Allowing your employer to spy on you.

They can watch employees, but can employees watch them?
No, just detect the software and be informed
When individual people can lobby and buy politicians for billions of dollars this might change. Until then tough luck.

Any company is allowed to track you while you are at work. Home or not. They have the right to make sure you are being productive.
Boo
