    I know that you didn't say it but anyone who knows this channel will certify that you did heat the board up from underneath with the hot gun to avoid melting the component.
    Just wanted to make that clear for anyone watching and wondering.
    When you removed the bad plastic components, you heated them directly as they were getting replaced.
    And, if any flies or invading beetles were to wonder onto the board, they would have been incinerated as well. One thing we don't want is another "bug" on the board.
    Ok, I think my work here is done.
    Great SHOW!!!

Learnt a lot from you and the knowledge has allowed me to be far more efficient in delivering timely service to my customers. 💪

Curious because i also micro solder and thinking of opening a shop here in Florida (thanks to your videos as inspiration) but I have no clue what to charge someone for this scope of work. • @pow9606
      @pow9606 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I think it's possible. You ever tried working with the stuff? It's a bit messy. Great for de-soldering heat sensitive parts. Wouldn't want to manufacture a PCB with it.

    • @mazdap98
      @mazdap98 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I wouldn't personally. Low melt solder is more brittle and weaker so bigger components like hdmi's might not hold up well with it.

      @@mazdap98 Low melt solder melts at very low temp. It's soft and only used for de-soldering. Use leaded for soldering. This is what I use northridgefix.com/product/best-solder-wire-roll-100g-0-3mm/

      @@SteveMasonCanada Try heating the boards from underneath when possible too. Once there are no small components on the back side of the board it is always safer to heat up from beneath when dealing with those connectors. Advise I learned here and it's been working for me.
