Love this song! Mayu shows her different vocal styles in this song. The guitars are just killing it and Tamu and Haraguchi-san are just layin down the foundation for them with such amazing talent. Yes, I love this band! Love the location and the wind blowing through the ladies hair .... this is in the top 3 favorite songs of theirs. Rollin Rollin is my favorite and Demon light is the next favorite of mine. Thank you for reacting to this video.

Same than you, the second I heard them I instantly love it - but I was already following Saki (guitar - Mary's Blood) and Tamu (drums) way before, so I was expecting big things, and was not disapointed to say the least !!! About Mayu who will get better and better, that's th enaked truth - I have an album of her former band (Lipstick) and three our four years later she has improved a lot! It's not surprizing, they are all very self-demanding pros with great work ethic (... but they are very funny and adorable too).

First time I heard them was two weeks after they released Oiran and was instantly hooked. They are the hottest band that not many know about. I think Aftershock will be taken over by them and Band-Maid. If Lovebites were not on hiatus, though they are practising, composing and writing lyrics which makes me happy, they would be for sure invited there. Mayu is my favourite singer right now. She is so badass and versatile and she sounds pretty similar live too. In real life she is a bit shy and very down-to-earth.
Saki (first solo) is my third favourite guitarist after Miyako and Midori (Lovebites, sorry Kanami fans, my personal choice). She plays Killer guitars mostly and ambassador for them. She even designed some I believe.. Hazuki is on Ibanez, you can even see her on their site. Tamu on drums is darn good drummer, she did Oiran and some other songs pregnant. Haraguchi-san, bassist with Sadowsky Metroline which is mostly uses is really good too, always smiling its infectious. I think Nemophila is the most versatile band out there as they can do Minions Banana song and even Nickleback sound freaking amazing. They do a lot of covers. Like Lovebites with Eagle Fly Free and Pain Killer they nail every one of their covers, and they have a lot of them. You'll need few days of Nemophila marathon. It is worth the while.

She has become my favourite singer lately. I'm not much of a screamo fan, but only because they try to get that guttural lower voice. She, however, screams like a GIRL!!! This I am o.k. with somehow. But she has a sweet regular voice too and the rest of the band is spectacular. The camera sure loves them.

You seems didn't realise how good their guitarists are... so I hope these back story will help. I will focus on SAKI here and the next part will be Hazuki.
SAKI is widely known on the scene as Japanese metal guitar goddess and rifflord, who was inspired to become a musician after she watched a heavy metal band Seikima-II reunion on TV and since then, Seikima-II had been her favourite band. She made her professional debut in 2009 with DESTROSE, a Japanese all-girls metal bands formed in 2005 (as DESTROYA) and stayed for a year. She is supported by Killer guitars with KG-Fascist Vice guitar that is based on Luke Takamura (Seikima-II) signature model as her main guitar.
In 2010, after leaving DESTROSE, she formed a rock band, mixx, with Asuka (vocal & bass) and Jackson (drums). They released 4 singles before disbanded in 2011. She continue her journey with Fin (bassist) and Anri (drummer) in all-female Vocaloid rock trio, Re:MAKER. While still active with them, in 2012, Mary's Blood recruited SAKI after both their guitarists left in quick succession. This move had caused Re:MAKER to cancel their future plans and went separate ways in 2013.
She have been the most important member of Mary's Blood with her technical abilities and also the main composer for the band. What sets SAKI apart is the sheer rock and roll bravado of her guitar work. Her riffs and solos aren’t choreographed - they’re felt. They surge out of the songs in a way that is emotional and organic, but above all visceral. SAKI's screaming solos take the listener on similar wild and unpredictable journeys. It’s also hard not to hear the influence of the legendary Miki "sun-go" Igarashi of the pioneering all women rock band SHOW-YA although sun-go is known to play her parts in a little bit delayed from the rhythm sections almost all the time. Similarly, both guitarist has the penchant for unexpected departure points, quickly shifting gears and dangerous u-turns. Also when playing live, SAKI used to bend her body backwards at the end of her solo, a posture inspired by sun-go.
In 2017, SAKI wanted to create something that could help promote female metal guitarist in more broad audience and let the new ones sharing the stage with established guitarists. She talked to her manager and later, the World Guitar Girls Collection (WGGC) show was born, featuring lines of female guitarist performing medley shows within major concerts and SAKI was the main organizer. WGGC kicks-off in Mary's Blood concerts and upon receiving positive feedbacks from the fans and the artists, it had been made periodic show for any major concerts up until now.
Her passion in metal music grew stronger with BABYMETAL especially KAMI BAND, the backing musicians for BABYMETAL. She was very impressed with their composer and producer, Yuyoyuppe (Takehiro Mamiya) and trying to get inspiration from his works. From that point, she was drawn towards 7 strings guitar, which was the driving force in KAMI BAND that brought Yuyoyuppe works to live. At that time she borrowed a prototype of Killer's 7 strings model and started to write songs using 7 strings as she wanted to expand the range and to produce a sound lower than the normal 6 strings. In 2019, as SAKI celebrating her 10 years anniversary since her professional debut, Killer launch KG-Fascinator Seven the Empress, which is SAKI's signature model, the 7 strings version that is based on Luke's KG-Fascist Vice signature model.
Later in August 2019, she got called from a friend telling her that mayu is looking for anyone available or knew anyone who might be for a one-off live show band called the Mayu Session. As an organizer for WGGC, she probably has all the list of guitarists in her 'collection' that might help mayu. She contacted Hazuki who is still an active member of DISQUALIA (band activities was put on hold) who that time working as sessionist for heavy metal vocalist RAMI and Japanese child prodigy guitarist Li-sa-X (whom later formed Li-sa-X BAND in 2020 with Hazuki as permanent member). Hazuki is very well known as a technical heavy metal guitarist and SAKI thought she would be perfect for Mayu Session. Hazuki, who was a solo guitarist and sessionist, accepted the offer but didn't quite understand why SAKI was also very intrigued to be part of Mayu Session because she's already busy with her 2 bands, Mary's Blood and recently an Europe-based AMAHIRU. However, upon learning that Mayu Session's drummer is none other than the drums goddess herself, Murata Tamu, one of the prominent support drummer in WGGC, of course SAKI would be very happy to be there herself. All of them realized that this could be once in a lifetime opportunity for the metal guitar goddess SAKI to be playing alongside drums goddess Tamu, together sharing the stage in a proper band setup.
Upon hearing the powerful vocal of mayu and the heart-popping-out sound of Haraguchi-san's 5 strings bass, SAKI decided that in this session, her KG-Fascinator Seven the Empress finally found its equal. They owned the stage on Mayu Session live show and can't get enough of all the fun and happiness they were having together, thought that this deserved more than a session. Thus, they decided to stay together as a permanent band with permanent line-ups known as the NEMOPHILA, securing both goddess in the process.
SAKI is very prominent in precision finger tapping, extreme string bends, delicate pinch harmonics, swooping dive bombs, and light-speed scalar runs. Her chugging riffs can be hypnotic but she doesn’t just slam through a bunch of power chords while waiting for her solo. She often employs clever guitar figures behind the verses, such as in REVIVE chorus, LIFE (REVIVE Ver.) verses and RAITEI bridges.
Her ability to negotiate sudden changes between these elements is the same as effortlessly as their drums goddess Murata Tamu does between half time, full time and double time. Much like Tamu's drums fills, in SAKI's solo, you don’t know where she’s going to begin, you don’t know where she’s going to finish, and you have absolutely no idea how many dangerous and harrowing detours she’s going to take to get there. They truly are a perfect match and seeing them together in one band with the rest of equally matched NEMOPHILA's band members is like watching the musical mocked battle of two goddess with their undisputed generals of musicians.
In February 2021, SAKI announed her solo project single titled BRIGHTNESS featuring Frédéric Leclercq (KREATOR bassist), Shun Minari (BLINDMAN drummer) and Coen Jensen (EPICA keyboardist) as her support musicians. She is expected to announce the release of her single later in 2022.

Hazuki is a respectable highly skilled technical Japanese female guitarist with 'royal' heavy metal playing style, very prominent in heavy riffing and systematic phrasing. With Li-sa-X BAND she is mostly in Steve Vai mode who happened to be an Ibanez artist as Hazuki is with the same guitar model line, the j.custom before he switched to JEM model line. With NEMOPHILA, she is more towards her favourite all time guitarist, Michael Amottt of Arch Enemy.
She was in a heavy metal band DISQUALIA that suspended their activities in 2017 until further notice. Since then, she had been a solo guitarist supporting heavy metal singer RAMI and Japanese guitar phenomenon - a child prodigy, Li-sa-X, who later in 2020 decided to form a permanent band with permanent line up and Li-sa-X BAND formed as a trio with Hazuki and Rina.
One very interesting about Hazuki playing style is her signature 'extended' technical guitar solo. Not only she could navigate between melodic touch and fast tapping with speed and precision but sometimes, when you thought she was done with her solo, she often went on with impressive runs adding intensity and melodic 'outro' into it. She likes tricky phrases, strings-moving phrases and string-skipping. So, regardless of how intense the melody is, she often managed to adds some strange phrases here and there.
In August 2019, her good friend SAKI a.k.a the Japanese metal guitar goddess and rifflord from the band Mary's Blood and AMAHIRU took Hazuki to join her playing for a one-off live show session band, Mayu Session, assembled by the vocalist, Mayu and her high school friend, the bassist, Haraguchi-san.
As a session guitarist, she's always ready but surprised at first as to why SAKI, who is already very occupied with 2 different bands, Mary's Blood and AMAHIRU, still wanted to play for a session band. Then she understood all the excitement after realizing that Mayu Session drummer is none other than one of the best and the most sought-after session drummer in Japan, the drums goddess Murata Tamu. They knew each other since Tamu is a supporting drummer for World Guitar Girls Collection project organized by SAKI, in which Hazuki is also one of the 'collection'. Hazuki and probably SAKI and Tamu too, all knew that this might be a once in a lifetime opportunity for the Japanese metal guitar goddess to be performing alongside Japanese drums goddess in the same line-ups of a proper band setup.
She was impressed with Mayu's capability to assemble the band line ups, and even more excited after listening to Mayu's vocals ability to go back and forth from high-pitch slightly distorted whistle tone fry screaming to clean powerful melodic singing effortlessly. She thought that this band could be heavier and more aggressive if they really want to but first, the improvement should starts with her. As a solo session guitarist, she always strives to improve herself so she thought that she must step up her game quickly in order to be on equal footing with everyone after she learnt that Haraguchi-san is using 5 strings bass since the very beginning of her musical journey. SAKI is already on 7 strings so she quickly picking up the pace to master the 7, up to a point that now she is very well feel at home with 7 strings. Hazuki said, "At first, I feel like I'm pretty confused. The hardest part was muting. It wasn't that difficult to mute to hold it in, but it was very difficult to grab it and wrap the thumb of my left hand around, so I had a hard time. But now, on the contrary, I may not be able to play a 6-string guitar better. I'm used to the 7-strings now, so when I'm playing a 6-string guitar, I don't have enough strings 😅."
In March 2021, she sign an endorsement contract with Ibanez. She is now using Ibanez top tier high-end model, the j.custom line with RG8527Z as her main 7 strings guitar. She own another magnificent Ibanez model line, the Prestige with extended range, RGDR4327 as her secondary 7 strings and mostly used for down tuning sound as what RGD line is famous for.
She had another 6 strings j.custom before and regretted that she gave it up. In February 2022, Ibanez launch new high-performance 6 strings j.custom RG8020G and Hazuki is the first seen rocking out that beauty.

@@5Melig It's more or less known among Japanese fans, but seems not to be known among non-Japanese fans (although I'm non-Japanese), that it was a guy who got Mayu Session (early name for Nemophila) going by helping Mayu when she left Lipstick and introducing her to Saki and providing the logistical support and rehearsal studio and gig bookings in the early days of the band. However, these days when Saki and Mayu talk about the early days, they never mention him by name although they will use expressions such as "a mutual friend". It seems there was a sort of coup, and he was removed from the scene---I doubt that he's really a "friend" now. In other words, it was not Mayu's band initially, and she didn't "start" it.

(Saki always gets credit for organizing the Guitar Girls Collection all-stars at NnY, but actually he also helped to put GGC together.) The first bookings that Mayu Session had at Club Shinjuku Wildside were made by him. The studio the band rehearsed in was provided by him, etc. But yes, Mayu brought in Haraguchi-san, as they were music school mates.
A general point: There is a great deal of info about Japanese bands that is not known in the English-speaking world. There are a few exceptions, however, prominently Band-Maid. In the case of B-M there are a couple of Japanese fans who almost obsessively translate everything they can find about the band into English (although even in B-M's case some episodes from the early years seem not to be known among non-Japanese fans). Ultimately, it's not really important---just enjoy the music.

When I think about the amount of reactions you've done to both Band-maid and Lovebites, I cant help wondering why this is only your third reaction to NEMOPHILA. Why is that ?
You were sooo impressed of "Dissension". And now of this one too. What are you waiting for ? Next should be "Raitei" then "Hypnosis". Wait. Much easier to just say: Do 'em all. You know they're worth it.

I appreciate that you still do the heavier side sometimes, when there are so many more views with kpop.

I don't know why the main riff in the beginning of the song remind me to slave to the grind (skid row)..which is good...

3 songs in 9months to a band you say you really like hmmm, by time you hear the entire Revive album Nemophila will have another 3-4 albums..
Your missing out big time mate by dragging your ass in listening to this band, even there rock/punk/metal covers are awesome.
IMO the band your wearing and the one on hiatus have nothing on Nemophila when it comes to vocal versatility, stage presence, energy, always smiling & having tons fun (see jamming + live videos) while playing HARD AF! They also dress like a metal band!
Btw you have only herd 2 of Mayu's vocals, how many does she have? good question, i dont think even Mayu knows except its many!!

They're great my dude but I don't choose my reactions... I put them on polls and hope they win, but they usually don't. Need more Nemo fans on my page.

@@TheChampOfMedium Should'nt the music journey be about what you wanna watch rather than others choosing what they already seen?
End of day your the one missing out hearing awesome music (Nemophila + others) just to please random ppl (not great trade off)
Very least you should balance what is chosen for you & what you choose. Otherwise ur poor buddies will be stuck with Dissension & Revive lol

@@Aussie- Well I choose the options for the polls, and the people vote. I like to have a community! If I didn't have a reaction channel, I'd have listened to it all by now... but I do, so I wait to listen to ALL the music I like. It's my job my dude... gotta balance the needs of myself with the wants of the people that enjoy my channel. Hope you understand!

There is a new cover of Nemophila. This time Journey - Separate Ways th-cam.com/video/fawKq5TUYPo/w-d-xo.html
Extremely successful, with lots of elements from the original video Journey. It's worth watching the original in front of Nemophila.

I'd like them so much more if she ditched the screeching. I guess it's just a metal band requirement these days. Her clean voice is so much better IMO.

Enjoyed your reaction like always Champ. I love the instrumentation for Nemophilia, but I don't enjoy the lead singers vocals (never been a fan of screams/growls or higher voice, male or female). which is ironic since the band only exists because of her, really.
