“The young dolly has seen the deaths of her mother and brother, but she survived. Each year, marine reptiles gather again at the birthing grounds of the shallows. Among them, is the dolly with the wounded flipper, now fully grown. She’s completed her journey, and returned to the waters of her birth. And after several seasons, she becomes a mother. Her young will grow larger and stronger. And one day, set out on their own journey through the inland sea. Day by day, month by month, life plays out. She sees several litters of her offspring, mature and depart on lives of their own. Eventually, a year comes when the mother can’t finish the migration. One quiet day, her old age has weakened her body. Her life comes to a gentle end.”
Nice to see a documentary end on a peaceful note as not many animals die of old age. Fun fact: when I saw trailers for this movie I had a different idea for what it would be. The little girl who finds the Dolly runs away not wanting to go camping. Somehow she ends up traveling back in time and realizing that going to summer camp isn't so bad.
I absolutely loved this documentary and still do and the music is a big part of it. This song at the end totally ties everything together and really makes you feel emotional during the scene
It was the music that made this movie. you just don't find music like this on the average documentry so when I first saw it, I knew this one would be special. even now after all this time, I still get tears in my eyes with this music.
This movie made me who I am now.. I can't tell how much I'm emotionally attached to it. My childhood, all those good times I've spent with my parents, drawing dinosaur species... Even by writing this tears fill my eyes :") and this soundtrack, I never forgot it for over 10 years. It was always somewhere behind my mind. Now, I've found the movie and this awesome music, I can peacefully cry.
you think of all the amazing things in life at the hardest times and all of the good memories come to you at once then you recognize you still have so much to look forward to in the future. you think of the good and the bad. the song speaks for itself all you have to do is listen and think.
This movie will always have a place in my heart. After watching it as a kid i always loved it, and coming back to it after all this time I'm just as emotional at the end. It will never stop bringing a tear to my eye
It's such a moving score and my favorite piece of music from this incredible film. The ending 1:35 when Dolly dies is sad but otherwise the track makes you feel like you're swimming alongside her through the Cretaceous seas.
this music really got in my feels. its like i remember all of the times i used to watch this in my apartment as a kid with my mom. we never had wifi so we always used the DVD player until we hooked on to someone elses wifi and went on netflix. all the great dinosaur movies and shows were on there. i didn't know which to choose from until i saw this one.
Great film. I actually got a little attached to the Dollie; watching her grow up, experience and survive so much, even having kids of her own. When she finally... passed away, I was holding back tears. Hell, just writing about it is getting me all chocked up. T-T
Who COULDN'T like this song!!! An AMAZING soundtrack! The music MADE the movie! I was looking to purchase it for my son as we already have it on bluray. What a disappointment.
1:34 reminds me of my worst nightmare, When I lost my one and only companion, and my last OC. May the celestials be with this six meter long semi aquatic creature...
As a historian out of all the prehistoric documentaries, this music always made an impression on me to the point that I want to look it up again. There are times I want to go back to watching prehistoric related content but stuff like politics, TH-cam drama, religion vs atheism, bias history, accusations of being x, sexy girls of certain race or dress and just overall toxicity I’ve been exposed to for the last 6 years had put a bad taste in my mouth, but maybe one day if I can just stop consuming garbage, I might rekindle my interest in paleontological content.
I know this movie doesn't have anything to do with SpongeBob or Stephen Hillenburg other than being about the ocean and Hillenburg being a marine biologist, but I feel this music perfectly fits for what happen to Stephen a week ago, which was truly sad, not only for his family, but for millions of SpongeBob fans! So here's all notable the stuff he work on/created before he died! The Intertidal Zone Comic (1986): Creator The Green Beret/Wormholes (1992): Creator Rocko's Modern Life (1993 to 1996): Director/Writer SpongeBob SquarePants (1997/1999 -): Creator/Executive Producer SpongeBob SquarePants: The Movie (2004): Creator
Morty Smith Oh, look another pretentious "they don't make music like they used to" comment. You have no hope if you genuinely believe this. Finding good music isn't difficult to anyone who knows how to use the internet. Besides, this movie isn't very old as it is.
R.I.P Dolly, this documentary and this soundtrack made my childhood the best before my mother got cancer.
Sad story 😔 😢
@amirhameed9485 my mother thankfully has fully recovered
The documentary is so short I wish it was longer cause the music, special effects and story telling was great!
me too man

What's even more heartbreaking you only get to spend 40 mins or less with her then you watch her die and it's over
This music makes me wanna tear up. I love this music

Easily one of my favourite documentaries from my childhood
This piece of soundtrack is just so powerful and touching :,)
This revives a lot of good memories
1:34 reminds me of my worst nightmare, When I lost my one and only companion, and my last OC. May the celestials be with this six meter long semi aquatic creature...
Play this when old age weakens my body and my life comes to a gentle end

There's hope. There's always hope.
You just feel so proud of them when they make it from the sharks and Tylosaurus

Remembering her, she lifted me out of the dark ages of my mind, and asked of nothing in return. I just need to tell her, just need to tell her
I wish I could buy this song.
never before have i felt like swimming with marine reptiles before in a Jurrasic sea
11 people either cried so much that their tears hit the dislike button, or are edgy 14 year olds who think that Billie Eyelash is sadder.
Lol
One quiet day, when old age has weakened her body, her life... comes to a gentle end.

Mosasaurs are the biggest part of my life.
