all these years, this was the song that would always play in my head whenever i would even think about the ocean.Whenever i snorkeled on beaches looking for fish, whenever i would visit aquariums, whenever i would search videos about sea life... It’s so peaceful and it just reminds me how much of the ocean is unexplored and what maybe lurking deep beneath the ocean depths where us humans haven’t gone before. it also reminds me of the amazing prehistoric life that roamed the oceans millions of years ago swimming freely through the dark depths of the ocean.
The game that inspired me to be a Paleontologist. It may have been a licensed game but I’ll always love this. Life is perplexing. It technically shouldn’t exist, yet it persists. So many events have almost stopped it in its tracks, but it always comes back. There isn’t something that lives in the modern age that matches the majesty of enormous marine reptiles. We could have never discovered they existed, but they did, and they did for hundreds of millions of years. We exist in a fraction of a fraction of time, and while some may see that as depressing, isn’t it breathtaking that it happened at all? We are an intelligent species on a rock floating in space. To me that is a gift, a gift to share with others and a reason why we must take care of OUR home. This is what I think of whenever I scuba dive, I’m so glad this was apart of my childhood.
Most would probably say they feel free when they think of flying in the air like a bird, or just plain flying, maybe even space. But to tell you the truth, I think of freedom also being like a whale in the ocean, a Giant Blue whale swimming through deep open ocean with light reflecting down and cutting through from above. An ocean that covers the circumference of the planet earth. We may live in a hostile world, but to me, besides flight, this sight to me is another form of beautiful and graceful freedom. And this music gives it a pure heart felt touch to this.
