Its baffling to me, how companies can design ergonomically great chairs, and manage to royally screw up every aspect of the headrest
I think they donât realize how difficult it isâĶthis is why atlas headrest charges an arm and a leg for theirs and took 2 years to bring the embody headrest to market!
@@AhnestlyAtlas Headrest also have patent 9521908, which prevents equally as good headrests from being released. That said, the quality of the Embody Atlas headrest is astonishing, it's not patent trolling, I literally wowed out loud when I installed it a couple of weeks ago.

I just recently got the embody headrest delivered, like a week ago, and one thing I noticed while trying to adjust it is that for some reason I was only able to tighten the back-and-forth arm so much; after a certain point it wouldnt want to tighten anymore.
It sucked because I wasnt able to put much weight on it at all, I was thinking about returning it.
After using it for a day though I tried tightening again, and I found that I was able to twist it a bit more before it, again, stopped wanting to tighten. The next day I tried again and the same thing happened. I repeated that for a couple days and now its perfect, almost too tight even. Im not sure why it got better over time, but I thought it was worth sharing
Hey, donât forget the Allen key to tighten it more (both the x and y axis can be tightened with the Allen key)! Lots of people didnât pay attention to instructions and realized they could tighten more with the Allen key after watching my videos lol
@@Ahnestly I allen keyed it as tight as possible when I first installed it. Didnt touch the allen key again after that first day though
I'm 6' 1" and have a Steelcase Gesture. The headrest really is amazing. Total game changer, and I can't really use other headrests by comparison.

I just tested the ergoCentric sCentric Hybrid, and my lord that is a seriously nice headrest! It's as comfy and supportive as the Atlas headrest on my Fern, but it's easier to adjust. Plus it can be pushed completely out of the way, literally all the way behind the backrest if you want.

@Ahnestly Sweet! I hope you'll make a review video of it and the airCentric3, also sold at Staples. But I don't mean to overhype this chair, just the headrest. So to temper your expectations...
The sCentric Hybrid is not perfect. The seat foam is underwhelming in quality (bottoms out immediately for users over ~200 lbs). The seat height and seat depth ranges suit shorter to average-height users, while the lumbar support height range suits taller users, resulting in a small overlap of users who can properly benefit from the sCentric Hybrid - I estimate 5'6" - 6'1" +- 1". The armrests have fantastic adjustment ranges in every direction (they're perhaps the absolute best armrests for slim users!), but their height adjustment is finicky and not that smooth. Finally, the recline is very smooth and deep, but the seat tilts upward too high during recline (must be a 2:1 synchro-tilt). The second most upright tilt lock position is too reclined for comfortable tasking. Edit: typos and grammar

I really want to like the Gaming Embody, but I just can't imagine liking the creaking it would make as I went to lean back into the headrest. My inner ninja just can't be heard as I'm stealth gaming /cough uhhhh working... Really great info about the headrest options on the market.
I have the gaming embody. Iâm roughly 5â9â 160 lbs and the chair doesnât creak for me when I move in a normal fashion. Maybe I just got lucky but possibly the bigger you are the more it makes noise. Aloha!

Your above comment reply, "Still nothing yet. Too many people keep ordering", seems to imply they've reneged, only to release the code once sales have slowed down. Quite an unsavory business practice and dishonest to the customer, I won't be ordering the headrest anymore until your discount code is available. Not your fault of course, but I hope Atlas decides to honor their agreement.

Can you review the Hinomi H1 Pro v2 Ergonomic Office Chair?
The headrest of the HBADA E3 Pro Ergonomic Office Chair seems to be very good. They call it a 4D headrest to adjust up and down, with dual-axis rotation, and adjust front and back.
Do you know it? What do you think? Could you review it?
How can you all do these chairs with headrests videos and not include the Humanscale Freedom chair? That should be high on the list of high end chairs with headrests if not the one to compare everything against. Iâm going to buy one tomorrow from a guy and going to compare it to my Embody and Leap and former Fern.
The humanscale freedom chair headrest just moves up and down from what I remember!
@@Ahnestly Yeah but it's also a very large headrest that moves with the body. I find it weird that the Freedom is a very high end chair with a price to match but never seems to be included in tests. Even the leather is semi-aniline, very high end. If you are going to talk about adding aftermarket headrests to $1000+ plus chairs maybe you should talk about the $1000 plus chair that already has one. ðĪ·ââ
@@venom5809 haha, I had the humanscale freedom, and wanted to love it, but it just killed my back (just like the HM Cosm). I plan to check it out again in the future. Really wish theyâd send it over, but they have 0 interest in talking to me :(
i have the sihoo m18 awesome chair for the money still one of the best seat cushions for a 280 pound man. you might have to tighten the headrest to hold . mine came a little loose. also the staple hyken has the best headrest , too bad the chair is cheapy made and small !
also i use bigger washers , the stock ones are too small
Hey, I just notice that when you install the Atlas headrest on the Embody, the position of the mount is just below of the "kicker" part. You can feel that part (the HM logo part) is moving down & up when you push the upper side of the backrest. That is kicker. I am just worried about installing the atlas headrest does affect that function or not.
Thanks for this as usual. I got the herman miller gaming embody for about a month now and I don't understand why Herman Miller thought it was a good idea to not include the headrest. I notice my neck and upper back is taking a toll because I would constantly lean forward and put my head on my hand on the arm rest. My head is heavy due to my huge brains. I'll probably get the Atlas Headrest eventually. Just stinks that it's $200 and you have to wait 3-4 weeks for it to ship. Overall I love the chair, it's just the lack of headrest not included would help this chair a lot.
I also have this problem with the Embody. Iâm thinking if Aeron is better in this regard.
@@surelyiamjoking I actually have both and I prefer the Gaming Embody because it's a much more comfortable seat. I think if I get the headrest, it would probably fix my issues.
Yes it a shame theres no headrest pre installed from the company as the aftermarket ones will void the warranty.
Thank god HM didn't include it, I doubt they would have made something as nice as the Atlas third party headrest.
So a couple things about warrantyâĶ
1. Itâs illegal for something to void warranty when it has nothing to do with anything. For example, if an arm on the chair breaks, HM canât say, âwell, itâs bc of your headrest! No warranty for you!â (See Magnuson Moss Warranty act)
2. How would HM ever know you put a headrest on it? You going to tell them??? Lol

Your impression of the headrest is the same as mine unfortunately. Iâve got their embody headrest to testâĶand yeahâĶno one should buy it when a significantly more premium version exists for like $20 more. :(

No, it cannot :-( Steelcase told me that the chances of a headrest being added is very slim.
I never see anybody bilt chairs I bought one about 12 years ago from somebody for only 50 bucks and it was less than 6 months old I've used it for the last 12 years I love the headrest on it I love the chair but the price point of a new one is just way past my budget I keep looking for one and I keep rebuilding mine out of spare parts but at this point it's a Frankenstein of a chair all body built parts but from different models it's okay but nothing like when I had it almost new I have the model j 2507 and like I said it just breaks my heart that it's dying I wish I could find a newer one for under $500 till then I'll just keep trying to keep mine going

Bei diesen Preisen, insbesondere wenn man die optionale Austattung dazu nimmt die diesen Stuhl Þberhaupt erst ergonomisch macht, erwarte ich mehr als komplettes Plastik. Da brauchen sich solche Firmen nicht wundern, wenn die Leute fÞr die HÃĪlfte des Preises genau so gute StÞhle aus China bekommen.
