Yes, I baked this cake this afternoon and it's moist. No water added because the yogurt softened the oatmeal. I will leave out the fresh blueberries next time because my cake is too moist. However, I can use dried blueberries, I think. I baked this cake at 350-degree Fahrenheit. No sugar. I used 3 -Tablespoon honey. I baked this cake for one hour. I hope my comment maybe of useful for those who love this healthy cake. Thank you for reading.
Yes, your comment is useful! @GT said it was still 'wet' after an hour. I'll definitely add cinnamon. GT also said it wasn't sweet enough even though they don't have a sweet tooth (sounds like me!) So, I may add a swirl of sugar free jam.
I made this yesterday. I used quick oats, and 130 grams came out to 1 1/2 cups, not one. I substituted canola oil for melted butter. I baked it for 50 min in a glass loaf pan at 325 degrees F. I wasn't impressed with the taste. Today I tried slicing off a thick slice, around 2-3 inches, put it in a bowl, poured on just enough sugar-free hazelnut coffee creamer to soak in, and microwaved it for 15 seconds. It was "sehr lecker.". If you don't like it right out of the pan, try my way of serving it before you give up on the recipe. I think it would also be good with a diced apple and some cinnamon in place of berries, and maybe substituting applesauce for the oil.
I made this cake and it's very good. I added raisins instead of fresh berries, since it's not a season for fresh berries, and I don't like "plastic" taste of strawberries from the stores. I baked at 356F (which is exact equivalent of 180C) for 50 minutes, and it came out perfect.
It's interesting to read your comment on "plastic taste of strawberries", which I'm not really aware of. May be because I don't usually buy them as I do feel that they are not tasty. However, I sometimes could smell the plastic on eating coriander, which I bought in the pot from the supermarket, or I grew in the small plastic container in my kitchen. I wonder if it was to do with the compost used or plastic container. Very interesting!
I baked this cake today as a get-well friendship cake - we both enjoyed and it was moist and scrumptiously delicious. I substituted w/ 3 tbsp honey and chopped dried apricots instead of blueberries - the yogurt gave plenty of moisture. Thanks for making this and for the additional comments.

As long as you have this once a day proportional to your other carbs if your diabetic you can have a small piece (not a 5x5 piece) instead of bread with protein/veggies. I feed a diabetic husband, he would take a 5x5 out! 😀Just keep it small under a quarter of that.

There are 12 different ingredients: 1c oatmeal/ 1c hot water to soak oatmeal in/ 2 eggs/ 120 grams plain yogurt/ mix well. Add 3 Tbsp sweetner/ 3Tbsp melted butter, coconut oil or olive oil/ 1c walnuts, chopped/ a pinch of salt/ 1 Tbsp baking powder/ 3Tbsp coconut or almond flour/ 1tsp vanilla/ Mix well. Add 1 cup of blueberries/ Mix in gently. Pour into greased loaf pan. Bake in preheated oven at 180 degrees for approx 45 mins

Healthy and delicious, it is yummy. I do the same with my pulp from juicing carrots, celery spinach and apples, etc. Cook it in the oven, and use it for salads or sandwiches or munch as a snack.
I made this yesterday. Didnt measure the amount of oatmeal exactly and used a half cup of water. I preferred to look it a little dryer. For the sweetness i used 2 tablespoons of honey and i used coconut floor. Really good tasty recipe, thanx.
Beautiful! I will do some shopping and get those ingredients. Thank you so very much. I can't read German but some words sounded like English. This is a simple recipe to follow and I appreciate it.
I just made this and 3tbsp of sugar is too sweet. I’ll cut it in half next time and I’ll probably try to use honey. Thank you for the recipe. It’s delicious!
Not only does it look healthy, it looks delicious. I live in the United States where people are obsessed with sugar and processed food that is not healthy. I baked this cake twice. The first time with fresh blueberries and the second time with dried cranberries. The cranberry version was much tastier to me. Excellent receipe. Thank you.
I’m going to try this without any sweetener. For me, all sugars (including substitutes) are not good for my intolerance. Thank you for your recipes. The Oat Bread is perfect.
Made this today substituted coconut sugar for sweetner, coconut oil instead of butter, used coconut flour, added fresh blueberries made two small loaves...very good. thank you!
Looks delicious! I'll make it.I want to have this cake that overslept and rushed in the morning, break time in 15:00 and when I stuck traffic jam in the evening.
Great recipe, willnow be a staple for me. Subbed raisins for blueberries, used oil and honey. Baked in a shallow dish for 45 mins exactly as instructed and it came out light and moist.
I baked this cake today, especially because of the healthy ingredients that it called for. Like others, I baked the cake longer than 45 mins, infact for 60 mins at 350 F. Top browned nicely and I believe the inside was well cooked too, but the cake was too moist using the measurements indicated in the recipe. Also, I used 2.5 TBL spoons (level) of coconut sugar and that definitely was not enough, had to sprinkle more on top. I also made the mistake of not letting the cake cool for an hour. So cake broke as I took out of the pan after 15 mins of cooling. So maybe less yogurt, less or no blueberries, instead use walnut & raisins only. Might give it one more go but if soggy again, will move on and try other healthy recipes. Update: after cooling overnight . .. wow, same cake had solidified nicely. Now perfectly moist, warmed up, had with a slight drizzle of Canadian Maple syrup, and a drop of rum!! Decadent I know, but wow, wow, wow!
Less hot water since the yogurt does the same task of making the oatmeal moist, just common sense mom said since full amount of water & yogurt plus other forms of liquid is too much. That's why cutting back on water if a person still wants the yogurt, would be good, tho I'd use flavored.
👋 I can make this now , no gluten and bad sugar I am happy. Thank you for the simple easy recipe please give us more of this. Have a wonderful day Cheers ✌️💛
im tired just plain cake and im looking for not totally sweet cake here in the u s thier cake is super sweet for me im making my own so that i can control the sugar i think im gonna try this recipe looks so yummy and healty version thanks for sharing your recipe
Today! My latest breakfast for the week. Very yummy, used 20 drops of Stevia. Defrosted berries was fine, not soggy at all. Usually I cover top with either desiccated coconut or sesame seeds which adds more yumminess. Great recipe and very filling. Ohhh and I used kefir instead of yoghurt. Thank you 💗🙏
This looks awesome. I'd make it with almond milk instead of water though and maybe add some LSA and remove the sweetener and just have none or use honey or molasses
I eliminated water, and soaked oats in yogurt to soften for about 15-20 minutes. Chopped some unsweetened apricots as the fruit, and used Agave Nectar as my sweetener. Used a combination of 1/2 cup chopped walnuts and 1/2 cup hulled hemp hearts (adds protein & Omegas). Baked for 1 hour at 350F. Let pan cool on wire rack for at least 15 minutes before removing from pan. Very nice texture and good taste; not overly sweet - perfect to enjoy with a cup of tea on a cold Winter day. The next time I make this, I’ll try unsweetened cranberries as the fruit - would also be a nice substitution for blueberries.

Try adding dates as a sweet substitute. Good to build up iron and adds fiber too
I have some freeze dried raspberries. Do you think that would work instead of the blueberries?
Honey is no healthier than sugar - use unsweetened apple sauce instead.
You baked the cake for one hour?
It doesn't look like it would be moist.
