"Zen" live will absolutely melt your face off. "Revive" live is the one that absolutely hooked me. Ama Te Ras is Hazuki's (blue Ibanez) creation. Only Mayu can utilize that scream to express pure positive lyrics "Let me see you SMILE"
Such a cool band. Super taleneted and versatile. Mayu's vocals are very unique. throaty, raspy, nasally, but yet so smooth. Screams are fantastic. Groovy is a great description. The drummer (Tamu) is highly technical and is/was in high demand as a session drummer. You need to see "Zen". I'm stealing your teddy bear analogy.
Tamu is amazingly talented, and feels like the rock in the foundation of this group. I'm extremeley impressed with all of them, but she is an absolute best of a drummer in a very tiny adoreable package! Feel free to steal it!!
#Happymetal. This song has a little different feel than a lot of their stuff. This is the first single from the 3rd album Evolve. (Dissension was 1st album). Video is studio audio over live video, but Mayu's vocals do sound awesome live too. They released the song and album on the same day in January of this year. Love the song, bass tapping caught my attention the first time I watched it. Yeah, Tamu Murata is awesome back there on drums, she was a highly in demand session drummer before the band formed. Just read the description , YES "Oiran" is a good one to do next, the newer official live (posted June 30, 2023 on their channel), you will get the live audio on this one.
This is a very different song, but so good, and really shows off their range, which is amazing, I love dynamics and a bands ability to switch it up. Oiran live you say? It shall be done!!
You'll be amazed at just how versatile this band can be. From the heavy 'Oiran' (good next choice) to the uplifting ballad of 'Life' to the almost Harajukucore sound of 'Style', they can do almost anything. Hell, I'd listen to a polka song from Nemophila.
this is my favorite song of theirs. Love how it changes mid song and just goes heavy. Haraguchi-san's taping on her bass... just mind blowing. Oiran is a great choice for next song.
Yeah, went back and watched again after I finished recording and realized how "Clean" it sounded. Still...gonna go have a look to see if I can't find the 2 I've reacted to live to see the difference
@@Reactingtothespectrum they are still pretty incredible live. Mayu has the best rock voice on the planet right now IMO. Zen and Change the World live are great. My favorite of theirs is Raitei OMV. Also, they are very versatile. For different genres, try Oddesey, Style and Hypnosis OMVs.
This is a great song.Off their latest album and a very very killer song with many different feels. This band is very diverse they can do many different styles of Metal and Rock. This song was studio over video. I saw the actual live and it still sounded so cool live. But not all their live videos are like that some are actually live so my recommendation for where you should go would be Oiran Live. Their are two versions both good but the newest one is best quality and it is the one released about a year ago. Oiran is their first Original song and is usually the song they close a concert with. Amazing song. It is heavier like Dissension with some killer solos and it is a true live from one of their shows. that is my top choice for you after that I would say Zen Live it will melt your face too and Mayu screams and growls all the way through. Or Adabana another very cool song from them.
When i first heard this it went in my top 5 Nemo songs and still there i love the fast heavy part at the end .Well all of it realy. You are only scratching the surface for this band great wonders await
They have a really wide range, and they like to experiment. Style, Hypnosis, Night Flight, Oiran are all songs that should be on your list if you want to explore that. When I saw them live they had a long instrumental medley in the middle of the show, it might be worth checking out recordings of that (though I think it'll all be phone footage). Highlights for me included an instrumental version of Iron Maiden's "The Trooper" (with heavy crowd participation) and Haraguchi-san playing the Super Mario Bros castle theme.
Around the world with bands? Voice of Baceprot (Indonesian), Rolling Quartz (Korean), The HU (Mongolian), Jinjer (Ukrainian), Electric Callboy (German), Twelve-Foot-Ninja (Australian), Gacharic Spin (Japanese), you've got Mexico covered, Unleash the Archers (Canada), Polyphia (USA), Bloodywood (India) -- ok, good to go for starters. ;)
Jinjer, Gacharic Spin, Bloodywood already on the list... Electric Callboy? DUUUDE, so amazing, but I have only heard about 4-5 of their tracks, may chuck one up here soon enough. That recent one with BABYMETAL "RATATATA" was just absolute fire! Polyphia...not really my thing. I like prog in small doses, and whilst Mr. Henson is a VERY skilled musician, it just doesn't captivate me. I find myself a bit bored with it. I saw Babymetal 3x last year, and during one show, they did "Brand New Day" which is collab with them. Perfect time for another beer, and a breather from the pit.
Nemo is simply a spectacular band! We already discussed Nemophila's drummer, BAND MAID's drummer, and Hanabie all being influenced by Maximum the Hormone. The band Ailiph Doepa was also influenced by them and the song Machu Picchu might make a fun reaction for you. More Nemo too please :) . I wish Nemo would have made an MV for Rollin' Rollin' ... my favorite song by them. There is a decent live published by user "earth2".

Great reaction! Check out 'Zen' LIVE for relentless harsh vocals from Mayu. One of their hardest and best songs! th-cam.com/video/k1yPbBRHFms/w-d-xo.html
"Ama-Te-Ras," a slightly Anglicized Amaterasu--the Shinto sun goddess. I love these ladies. They can do anything you want; from their plethora of covers to their originals: Nu-metal ("Style") Check. Thrashy, metal-core ("Rise") Check. Marylin Manson-esque industrial ("Enigma") Yep. Heartfelt ballads ("Odyssey") Uh-Huh. Early 1990's synth rock ("Night Flight") Got you covered! Check out "Ray of Light" An absolute banger that people seem to forget about.
This is the studio audio over a live video to make an MV. I have the blu ray of this gig and the live audio is even cooler. Obviously a little more raw but powerful af. Mayu's scream does get some processing on some tracks but it's 100% legit and live, without effects, she is just as much of a mini-beast. They still have a world of variety you haven't encountered yet. For live I would recommend 'OIRAN' (specifically the live version from 1 year ago). There are other versions but that latest one is the real deal. Other lives: 'Change the World', 'Revive @ House of Blues' (again, specifically that version) and 'Zen'. For MVs I'd suggest ' Odyssey', 'Adabana' and 'Raitei'. Also, their covers of songs by Foo Fighters, Babymetal, Iron Maiden etc are fantastic. To hear them as a four-piece live band try 'NEMOPHILA / NAONnoYAON 2024 DIGEST'. (It's early days so there's not much up yet in the band's latest incarnation.)
That's how you do dance metal. As to your My Little Pony comparison, the describe themselves as fluffy hell. While this is a studio recording over a live performance, I saw them live and they sound just as good. Next, Adabana.
AMA-TE-RAS is typical of Nemophila's style in as much you can't really pin them down - they just make some excellent music, but it's always unmistakably Nemophila. ...Except when it's a cover, of course. They know how to use the nostalgia and the Internet to their advantage. I'm pretty sure I mentioned Aldious already - they are the OGs of the genre. They don't bring views but they do bring joy - Megalomaniac live is a good place to start, or Reincarnation live, if you're feeling more mellow. Aldious were the biggest band in the genre until BABYMETAL, but if you don't count "performance art" then they have only been eclipsed by Band-Maid. They are a big deal - their album "Deep Exceed" kicked off a whole load of aspiring careers.
Hey man, gotta say I'm a fan of your videos already, you strike a great balance between analysis and emotion and I think they're the best kind of reactions honestly 👍 Nemophila for me personally are right at the top of J-Metal scene and probably just the metal scene in general to be frank. They are the most versatile band when it comes to styles of music on display and for full illustration of that point I highly recommend doing Zen live and immediately following that with Odyssey mv. If you want suggestions for other bands, I always suggest things that are less overtly popular because there's gonna be tons of suggestions for the more obvious artists and there's so many smaller bands that need love too, especially within Japan's incredible scene. So with that in mind, I'd like to request Kokeshi - Taikai, I'll leave a link below. Keep doing what you're doing, there's more to discover than you can imagine 🤘 th-cam.com/video/oQ0TveS1Ecg/w-d-xo.htmlsi=JdwyJxoy4CTaLSft

I concur and mentioned it above. All their songs are great choices but Oiran live. It was their first song and is so kick ass live.
This video is from their livestream in Sendai January 2024, last gig before already legendary Budokan-show.

A collab with Weird Al on a polka cover of let's say...Maybe Shonen Knife? HAHAAHAHHAHA

Had to see your reaction to my favorite Nemophila song! Nobody does "Happy Metal" like them.
Your second pronunciation of Nemophila was entirely correct.
