Fashion revolutionary Bethann Hardison looks back on her journey as a pioneering Black model, modeling agent, and activist, shining a light on an untold chapter in the fight for racial diversity. From walking runway shows alongside Iman to discovering supermodels like Tyson Beckford and mentoring icons like Naomi Campbell, Hardison has been at the epicenter of major representational shifts in fashion. Catalyzing change requires continuous championing, and as the next generation takes the reins, Hardison reflects on her personal journey and the cost of being a pioneer. In tandem with Frédéric Tcheng (Halston, Dior and I), Bethann Hardison and her co-director trace her impact on fashion from runway shows in New York and Paris in the ’70s to roundtables about lack of racial diversity in the early 2000s. Interviews with industry players speak to the state of fashion, while friends and family attest to Hardison’s rebellious and ambitious spirit. The film is an absorbing record of Hardison’s accomplishments and a rare contemplation on the life of a radical thinker.

Great documentary. Bethann Hardison is a phenomenal human, woman, mother and leader/mentor. If I get a chance I will see it again before it leaves the Film Forum. Once wasn't enough; I learned so much ⭐⭐⭐⭐

F fashion houses that play into it.. town next door 2 me clark nj kept and re elected mayor, chief of police, other police, teachers all caught on tape by a non racist white cop..I dont know how it was kept secret, but a couple news reportedd,it! They literally admitted to racially profiling , using surveillance corruptly, at a meeting , after the lovely mixed town of plainfield I was blessed to be born and raised until I was 14, their basketball team , very mixed, plainfield is also connected to civil rights struggles and riots of the 60s , a very lovely town that has never lost its charm and diversity. Poor basketball team goes a few towns over to clark, where teenagers up to 18 years old hung black lynch puppets in plainfields locker,, visiting team, gross, and they are proud of it, proving 2 me kkk is teat fed, as this town is known to burn crosses on black and Jewish new owners lands, people of color have never crossed the border, until they put a target in border of town.. all kept their jobs , Google racist cop mayor clark nj...so I feel for you , your great cause , thank you wonderful women!!! This whole country, whole world needs to change, you trying showing beauty at its utmost,outside and within..never surrender!!! U have most defineatly all 3 made a HUGE DIFFERENCE!!!
