The deactivation pattern that sartaj was making has been pointed out to be similar to the shape of the line dividing india and pakistan , that line is called the radcliffe line hence the name of the episode.

Shahid’s mother was abducted during partition and was actually a sikhni(female version of sikh). And yes Rick got it right. The little girl in the car was sartaj’s mom and sartaj and shahid were cousins

@@mahendrasingh-tn9ju It's not about adding anything to the story, it's about that both Shahid Khan and Sartaj being related to each other and pinned against each other due to circumstances. It gives you a question if they both knew that they are related would the outcome would have been different.

The episode title, Radcliffe, comes from the British Lawyer, Cyril John Radcliffe. He was given the task of drawing the lines which would complete the Partition of India, in turn creating Pakistan in the West and East Pakistan (present day Bangladesh) in the East, in 1947.
The Radcliffe line went on to become the current international borders of India with Pakistan and Bangladesh.
Both Nawaz and Saif needs to be nominated for this in the acting category. They deserve it.

Random thought, but if it was an incorrect password, the computer graphics wouldn't reload ( as in the circular loading sign). The system receiving the incorrect password would trigger the explosion..not print wrong password and then explode. Or.. the black screen at the end is the first person perspective of the explosion. Damn its deep.
In partition time ...many families were separted as shown in this episode ...

In Indian philosophy, in "Shankarachsrya's" concept of attaining liberation through a route prescribed called "Gyan Marg"
a person must go through pain, suffering, self realization, etc and keep searching for the idea of almighty ("Brahma" in shankara's philosophy, which is a notion that is above God).
Liberation in shankar philosophy involved along with this prescribed path a need of an "Able Guru" ( to guide you). The disciple keeps on asking the guru, where is brahma?
After long suffering and pain and self realization, when the Guru finally sees that the disciple is now fit for liberation, and when the disciple asks where is brahma?
The guru replies "Tat-va-masi" = "You are the brahma"
Upon which the disciple says = "Aham Brahmasmi" = "I'm brahma"
Shankara's concept of liberation has notion of liberation while living/alive (called jeevan mukti) - like what buddha had attained.
Here, Gaitonde is disciple and The guru under whom he was, was Guruji.
It is said that after liberation, one is not affected by pain, pleasure, anger etc but looks like that didn't happen with Gaitonde! As u could clearly see varied emotions(even the killing of guru).
Another reference, "Kalki" :
God (vishnu) in Hinduism, is said to take incarnations as a messenger of God on earth, 9 times has already happened (9th one is considered Buddha), the tenth is yet to come and has been named as "Kalki". Hence the reference to himself as the incarnation of God.

I. e. brothers killing brothers. Its a microcosom of a Macrocosom that's india and Pakistan. Born of the same motherland.

I just finished watching the finale. Started the series day before yesterday. Finished both seasons in 3 days. OMG. Mind blown. I cannot believe this series came out of India. So impressed And proud. Also, totally didn’t know Saif could act so well.

I think they left the ending onto the audience. Let the audience calculate and come to a conclusion/decide by their own self whether blast actually happened or it did not happen! Some believe blast took place while some feels the city got saved by Sartaj! Its a very beautiful ending though! ❤

I had a pretty similar reaction when they left the ending open! And I think they are not making any more seasons as most of the major characters are dead and the source material is finished. Also the pattern Sartaj drew was similar to the Radcliffe line which is the boundary between India and Pakistan. That’s where all this feud actually began. Hence the name of the episode Radcliffe.
The reaction to the ending was like superb. I started to get all the feelings I had while watching the end. Great work.

The end moment is really symbolic. If he chooses to go with his dad's symbol, then he truly accepts he was a bad person. But if doesn't, if he still believes he is a good guy, he won't choose his dad's symbol. So at the end, we are left with two questions। One, is the world worth saving? Two, was Sartaj's dad actually evil?

Pattern is correct here is why.
There are 2 Ashwathama in Mahabharata Ashwathama was son of Guru Dronacharya. In battle of Mahabhartra Dronacharya is very powerful and was a teacher who teaches both Pandavas and Kauravas (who are cousins) art of fighting but Dronacharya was on Kauravas side in the battle so Pandavas must kill him but no one in Pandavas can kill him in direct faceoff so they played the trick they killed an elephant named Ashwathama and spread the news after getting the new of Ashwathama killing Dronacharya went into sorrow in battlefield and Draupada(brother in law of Pandavas) take the shot and killed him.
So here nuclear bomb is Guru Dronacharya, Gaitonde is Ashwathama but Sartaj's dad is also Ashwathama (elephant), Sartaj is one of Pandavas, Shaheed is one of Kauravas( Sartaj and Shaheed are cousins).
How Sartaj's dad is Ashwathama? If you remember in season two Sartaj's mother gave him his dads belonging which include a letter in which Dilbag mention 'today guruji called me his Ashwathama' but in series they never saw that moment in flashbacks.
So to kill Drona( nuclear bomb) they need Ashwathama(Dilbag singh) and Pandavas executes it.
Because this is 21st century mahabharat

If you want to see some of Saif's best work, I suggest you watch Omkara by Vishal Bharadwaj. It's based on Othello and is part of Bharadwaj's Shakespearean trilogy. Saif as Langda Tyagi is easily the best part of the film.
The fact that Shahid and Sartaj were cousins is a sucker punch. It is a call-out to the War of the Mahabharata where cousins fought and much of the world as it existed was destroyed. Many believe that the Mahabharata had references to ancient nuclear weapons - the reason why Oppenheimer quoted from it when Project Manhattan was completed. The underlying msg is India and Pakistan are sorta siblings and their fighting would end the world.

I was so freaking Happy with the ending.. I was afraid what if they unlocked the password it would have ruined the show.. But what they was best of anything that could happen, I JUST LOVED IT😍😍
At the end they just left it to the viewers, if you think the world is worth saving you make your own happy ending if you think otherwise well all goes to dust. But they gave us enough that both endings are equally possible
points that pattern was correct..
1. dilbag singh was ashwathama.. so his pattern was the most likely to be true..
2. gaitonde also says that this book is the key for next life and also for saving the world
3. there was a reason why gaitonde chose to speak to sartaj.. he could have talked to any raw intelligence officer.. but sartaj was the key to stop all this..
4. in a short scene where dilbag was sitting and malcom was planning to attack him (means he killed him).. so from all the 11-12 members, only dilbag singh was killed.. so that he cannot use his pattern to stop the bomb in future..
5. there can be different passwords for locking and unlocking..
6. in the book, sartaj saved the city.. so the makers wont go in a different direction..
7.the scene where shahid put the password was saif's dream.. it showed ACTIVATED.. fast forward 5 min 40 sec ahead..it shows the same scene where he wrote something and again it showed ACTIVATED.. how can a password be activated 2 times.......EDIT:copied from somehwer but thought u guys would like it. :)
