I have a 79 W150 and it is also glued on. Mine needs it bad and it looks like a several hour job per door. Kinda looks like a real pain in the ass to do. I saw a instructional vid for 78 through 93. it's simply push on with plastic strips holding the weather strip on. Well, mine is not just push on and secured with plastic strips, it's glued on.

Did this but still have noise...not as bad but....
