The sound track too this movie is fantastic . I grew up in the 50s it was a great time to live. People treated each other with respect , courtesy , honesty . You had barbecue with your neighbors it was great . Thanks for the memory and the movie
@gregorywilson8365.......Excellent film and soundtrack - have both [original 1987 Video and DVD plus the 1987 vinyl LP on Atlantic records]. Playlist: Little Willie John - Fever The Drifters - Ruby Baby Ray Charles - Drown In My Own Tears Johnny Cash - Home Of The Blues Bobby Darin - Mack The Knife Ivory Joe Hunter - Since I Met You Baby Big Joe Turner - Shake, Rattle And Roll Jesse Belvin - Goodnight My Love (Pleasant Dreams) La Vern Baker - Jim Dandy Ronnie Self- Big Town If you haven't already seen it - you might also be interested in watching 'Diner'. Released in 1982, directed by Barry Levinson and set in 1959 Baltimore, it is the very funny but poignant story of a group of close friends slowly but inexorably drifting apart. It features an amazing cast - Mickey Rourke, Kevin Bacon, Daniel Stern, Steve Guttenberg, Ellen Barkin, Paul Reiser and many more - with a soundtrack to die for [Jimmy Reed, Jack Scott, Del Vikings, Eddie Cochran, Elvis Presley, Fats Domino, Lowell Fulson, Dion and the Belmont's and more. But one on my all-time favourite '50's influenced films is Kathryn Bigelow's 1981 debut film and 'cult classic' - 'The Loveless'. Clearly based on Marlon Brando's 'The Wild One' it features a stunning soundtrack of 'covers' by Robert Gordon and stars a mostly unknown cast - with the exception of Willem Defoe who plays the lead character, 'Vance'. It's as cool as fuck and well worth a watch!
Always been a fan of Matt Dillon Love his sleek hair with those chiseled cheek bones He's got that 50's/60's vibe a cross between Elvis and the Beatles Adorably handsome
Saw this two days after seeing The Outsiders again. The last shot of this movie almost made me think that this is what Ponyboy would've wanted for Dallas when he wrote that last letter.
The print is as shiny as the stars on parade. Dillon spreading his charms far and wide. And the story getting murkier than the morals. Enjoyable flick - thanks for the upload.
A REAL movie! About real people, motivations, situations, music and danger! A proper 1950s style movie without the 21st century "social agenda"! Hollywood could still make these IF they wanted!
I am sorry, but what is wrong with trying to improve society for everyone? And I know more about the period this film is set in than anyone you would meet....Loved the music and style, but working for equality can always improve things....And I am 61
Although this well-cast movie garnered only 5.9 stars out of 10 on IMDb, Roger Ebert rated it 3.5 out of 4 👍, so it looks well worth a watch, particularly if one likes Noir.
Thanks for the upload About the movie: to go f# around for fun and people call it "darting" like people do now IS DISGUSTING !!!!! And sometimes kids will involved from those kind of behaviors and grow up become.. Etc Without the 10 commandments people going lost! I'm not religious but spiritual and believe me humanity nowadays are changed in many ways.. Modern time should not remove, moral, pure love, humanity, respect.. *God* bless you all 🙏
Thanks a ton for this upload. What a great little flick! Talk about a dream cast and front and centre is my favourite boy, Matt Dillon. Old Matt never made a bad film and this is one of his great early roles. How young he is! And how about the soundtrack?
I really enjoyed this, totally missed it back in the day. The plot has some weaknesses (a gangster's just going to let some young punk openly gallivant around town with wife? I don't think so, lol), and that last scene with Diane Lane really did her a disservice. But man, what performances, and I love the production design and soundtrack.
This is supposedly set in the late '50s, but someone must of had a time machine because when they step off the trolley (at 24:05), you can clearly see a 1984 Lincoln Continental pull up behind it followed by another car that clearly belongs to the '80s, not the '50s.
Matt Dillon was supposed to be the star of the future. The fact that above they list Tommy Lee Jones and Dianne Lane but not him tell you that for whatever reason this did not happen.

I was born in’64 and I can remember when neighbors gave a damn about each other, we had community. I miss that too.
You are right. I miss this truly great time.
What an incredibly awesome movie. Great entertainment, not a dull moment, nothing extra, nothing missing. Highly recommended. Big thanks.
Marty Ransohoff was our neighbor in Norwalk Ct. What a perfect life we five kids enjoyed. At 69 I finally get to see his work. TY for posting.
Takes a while to get there with twists and turns but ends up a feel good movie

Hubb hubba
Great movie, great soundtrack. Nice to see a young Diane Lane, still beautiful to this day, THANKS
This is one of the best movies made in the past 40 years (2024).
Saw this two days after seeing The Outsiders again. The last shot of this movie almost made me think that this is what Ponyboy would've wanted for Dallas when he wrote that last letter.
This is an awesome movie I can't believe I've never seen it before
The music was the best part of the movie.
This is my favorite movie of all time especially with Matt Dillon in it he is so handsome and very talented
One of the BEST movies I've seen in a long time ...AWESOME....
A spectacular upload! Let's just say that I was mesmerized!! Loved every moment of it!!!
Thank you!!!!!! I love this movie and I haven’t found it since I was a kid!!!! Grateful!!!
Great movie with great looking cars, music plus Diane Lane ❤ thanks for the movie 😊
Awesome movie and cast. Great soundtrack.
The print is as shiny as the stars on parade. Dillon spreading his charms far and wide. And the story getting murkier than the morals. Enjoyable flick - thanks for the upload.
Dianne Lane is unrecognizable.
Ya think? I recognised her straight away! Those eyes... Her voice is unmistakeable too..
Yes and how she has changed.
Nobody stays young forever @@fuzzfacelogic789
Because this was in 1987, she was only 22 years old. Just a kid, her face is fuller and she was thicker. 👍
Great actors and actresses.
Thank you so much for posting this!! It’s not available ANYWHERE ON ANYTHING. And it’s awesome shoutout Matt Dillon too
This can't end well for "the farm boy from Indiana". Great music!! Thank you!!
One of the best movies I have seen .
I love soundtracks from old movies. The songs give me the tingles idk why but it’s a good feeling.
A REAL movie! About real people, motivations, situations, music and danger! A proper 1950s style movie without the 21st century "social agenda"! Hollywood could still make these IF they wanted!
the lack of colored faces is very refreshing here . . . .

Wow! Great Movie!
Excellent viewing. Super cast and great story... even though morally questionable activities all round
When America was GREAT!
I absolutely love Diane Lane
My favourite movie!!! Made in my home town of Port Perry, Ontario Canada!

Really good. Thanks J.W.
great pic - thanks for uploading!
Not the full, complete movie. Diane Lane did some kind of a risque scene if I remember correctly.
You remember correctly. I watched it for the Diane Lane striptease act, and it wasn't there. There's 7 minutes missing from this cut.
Correct! The full movie is 110 minutes. I got lucky and found a full 2004 HD version of the DVD on Amazon last year. It was $75.00.
@@richdannys2906scenes like that have to be taken out or else TH-cam will take the video down
very good movie. thank you

Nice movie, it's a nice Film Movie 🍿🍿🍿🍿!
excellent film and well cast cheers
Seems the order of credits is askew. Tom Skerrit. Tommy Lee, Lee Grant are generations older than Matt with far more credits to be put after him.
Yep
Wouldn’t have known it was d Diane Lane
Great movie with Matt
Very good movie !
Wonderful movie
Good film ...portrays the 'old fashioned' ( what they call it now ) civilised Euro-centric culture . . ...
Turned out to be better than expected
Thanks for the upload but a pity it isn't the uncut version
Opens up with Johnny Cash - awesome!!

I learned all these songs listening to George Thorogood
Thank you

Pretty good movie 👍
Nice new upload, JW..... 👍
adored this movie
Still can’t believe this movie came out in 87’
Why not?
Movies were better then.
Matt Dillion an amazing actor should of won a few academy awards. He holds his own with the great Tommy Lee Jones in this movie
Money and arrogance. Bad combo
My favorite is > arrogance and ignorance - a really bad combination!
Good flick
Good movie, very recommendable, thanks for the upload, and stop crying Jesus!

his own choice, you know, he wasn't interested in the scene...great actor.
Matt Dillon: *_14000, shoot it all..._*
Tommy Lee Jones: _- This is called a 'neuralyzer'..._
