A few months ago I was sick.I realise I have no friends bcoz those I considered friends were not there for me.But am grateful for my wife who stood by me and mostly God who never left us.I have decided to live a new life where I concentrate on who is and what is important.Appreciating each day and moment.Trusting in God and believing in His son Jesus.This movie has just encouraged me even more.

Yes... similar experience...fell 20 feet off ladder...broke my back.. pelvis and several ribs...all friends including my husband left and he took everything while I was bedridden... but that's ok because I really grew up and became a Christian and now I can even run....thanks be to God!!
A great story about a strong determined woman. The husband is a fine example of how to be supportive and truly loving. She is a lucky woman
I never had that - divorced twice. I was incredibly naieve both times. Love to hear stories of good relationships though. I am happily single & have been almost 40 years.
A supportive husband or any loved one helps a great deal. This man is every woman's wish for a caring husband .
Exactly what I am thinking.
One key thing she did was to dismiss the people who had negative thoughts and feelings toward her course of action out of her life until she was healed. Having negativity from family or friends sucks the life out of a person when they are healthy. How much more so when fighting a disease. If the ill person is not strong enough to tell the negative person to leave, do it for them.
I had the cream of the crop when it came to negative families. Most of them are dead now & I don't miss them.
Sam Neil is a great actor ,and this is a heart warming movie ,,,

This movie is ahead of its time. We now know that cancer is a metabolic disease and is definitely related to environmental factors and mental attitude. The old treatments of chemotherapy and radiotherapy have been used for decades and kill more people than assist- in the end. I used to believe the medical model, but it is totally flawed. In fact, diagnoses tend to programme people’s brains to die. To give up. So, this movie is definitely prescient. And the negative response from family is a part of the brainwashing to which we have all been subjected to by the allopathic medical model. Powerful messages in this movie . 🙏

We were in grade school together, Berkeley Hall in L. A. Our Moms were close friends when Marjorie Lord was on The Danny Thomas Show, in black n white tv. My brother dated Anne. Her brother beczme an airline pilot. Another time , another place.

Okay I believe in self healing, because it's happened to me! With recurring staph infections in my right arm from infancy surgeries to save my limb. Surgery was successful. But at 32 I started getting staph infections because the lymphatic system was damaged from those surgeries! After taking antibiotics for 20 years and still getting severe infections, I found a doctor who placed me on a sulfameth pill once a day. And with bio feedback, I only get one maybe two a year rather than every two weeks. I'll admit I left a career paying over $150,000 a year to retire for less stress. But life always has different stresses . My faith in God and asking for His healing, I am now 72 and enjoying my grandchildren every day
I walk every day and enjoy a very healthy life!
I will never undergo chemotherapy, or cutting out the cancer, which is impossible or radiation! Those treatments killed my sister and my husband! Attitude and complete peace with God is the healing power! ❤❣️🙏🇺🇸

You have a beautiful country! my aunt and uncle emigrated there from the states in ‘99 until he died from health complications during Covid lockdown. My parents took me and my brother to both the north and south islands for a whole month back in 1989. Was only six but remember it thanks in part to the many photo slides my parents made! Very nice people opened their homes to complete strangers. Good times!

I'd forgotten all about those linebacker-like shoulder pads from the late 1980's. Sometimes dressing could get complicated, trying to adjust those ubiquitous things in your t-shirt, your jacket AND your coat.

The movie is from 1988. I looked up what has become of her. The main character in the movie Debby is still alive and is a therapist. She has a website.

This is sad true story this poor woman has terminal cancer and she could die. She lucky she got a good husband who love her and support her. I can relate to this poor woman my poor mother pass away from horrible cancer like her mother. I glad a miracle happen Chinese doctor heal her. She got pregnant and she gave birth to healthy baby girl. This true story had happy ending she still alive and she became a mother. I get colonoscopy every 5 years and thank God I don't have cancer. Hopefully I will become a mother and wife one day to.

This started off okay but then got weirder and wielder. No thanks!
People don't appreciate life until they see it crumble before them. Archer blames God. What's new? God wants people to live; that's why he created them! Many take risks, do silly things. This testing ground, for that's what it is, is designed to make a person grow; to mature; to understand. Most fail to comprend this, & fail to get it right. Why? Because most don't 'believe'. The sooner they change the better. Do it now, before it's too late. For as the lady said "none of us knows how long he or she has". Dead right.
Ann Archer, Jennifer Gray, Julie Warner (from doc hollywood), and Barbara Streisand were the only people who could ever carry off that hairstyle. It just doesnt look good on too many people.
I had friends who’d I’d what she did. Notice “had”? They died. Seems to me, if they had gone the traditional medicine way, the only difference would have been how sick they would have gotten from the cancer meds. They spent the last 2 years will hope. At the end, the took opioids for pain relief.
