I think this movie helped change how people felt about our Vietnam soldiers. America was mad because we lost, and blamed the soldiers. The greedy politicians were to blame. People were pulling for Rambo. All he wanted was kindness and a meal.
This movie also started the whole "Viet Nam burnout" genre, making some think that the veterans were dangerous killers that couldn't turn the war off. A movie like _Born on the Fourth of July_ had a much more positive impact on giving those returning soldiers respect.
Today (7/21/24, 615pm CST) is the first time I watched the entire movie from the start. I always started watching it after 30-45 minutes. Now I know how it all started.
Our Vietnam veterans were treated like crap after they came home, by the public and our govt. They dealt with PTSD ,disrespect, permanent physical, emotional and psychological injuries. My late husband died at age 52 from cancer, a direct result from being in Vietnam.i saw him going thru episodes of PTSD and watched him suffer until the end. My uncle also served in Vietnam. The man couldnt even sleep in a bed after he came home. He told me stories about a few of the situations he had been in that gave me nightmares. We should respect and honor every Veteran who has served. RIP Wesley. RIP Uncle Lee😢❤
This film does bring up the serious issue of ptsd, really well in fact. I totally agree ur guys were treated terribly coming back from Vietnam. Very sad. I've always respected any soldier, but I'm an ex squaddie from England. At least now they get the respect they deserve and there's much more understanding.

Truly realize what a phenomenal talent Stallone is, when John Rambo breaks down in the final scene of the film, in Col. Trautman's arms. Had tears down my face. Bravo 👏👏👏
The man fought for his country and just wanted something to eat. To enjoy a little of the basic freedom, he gave up a part of himself for, in service to his country. I always hated the damn police chief for treating Rambo like dirt. Like he owned the place. He certainly got what he asked for. Great film.
This was common place back then. It's still a lot like that here in Georgia. Fake DUI arrest are commonplace. Easy money for the government, and one point closer to the Attaboy of the year award for the worthless cop. High speed pursuit gas gotten out of hand with the Chargers and Challengers. They have Camaros now since Didge got braindead and stopped making V8 cars. A big mistake for Dodge. They chase you for a tailight out.
They are still like this it's a big club. Most of them are worse criminals than people they arrest. Georgia still arresting and prosecuting over roaches or a joint. Shameful.
Its even worse than that he fought for a globalist agenda for people who hate USA and shipped all their industries over to China. To fight for globalist billionaires and also get treated like a criminal in their own country. Ffs mate

Stallone’s performance particularly in that speech near the end with Trautman is an outstanding piece of acting. What a great movie which drew attention to the way Vietnam vets were treated and had to battle with the effects of PTSD.
That woman at the beginning of the movie didn’t even offer Rambo a drink or something to eat after he traveled all that way. This was how people treated the vets after they returned from the war.
I think the woman had been trying to let the wounds left by Delmar's death heal. But here comes a living, breathing reminder of the line of work that got him killed and those wounds ripped right back open again. So i don't think she has anything against Rambo personally. Just that she didn't want to talk about Delmar.

That fear led to his town getting burned down, and yeah, justifiably so. If the Sheriff could've stopped himself from being a paranoid dick, we wouldn't have the conflict this movie was perched on.
This 55 yr old guy seen this movie in the theater, when it came out.
Just watching it again.
Great movie.
Whoo hoo, Rambo, the original! How many times have I passed it up because of the blank screen! Fantastic, many thanks!!!
i didn't come here to save him from you i came here to save you from him
"let it go or i'll give you a war you won't believe"
RAMBOS A RIGHT TWAT
KILLING A SHERIFF 😂😂
One of my favourite classics from the 80’s! Forget all this green screen nonsense, just filmed on the go. This is when movies were real movies, not like todays garbage 👍 I love this movie :) Thank you for the upload 👍
British Columbia, right?
@@JustJeph33 South Wales UK 👍
Klasyka z najwyższej półki 🎥 doborowa obsada aktorska, świetny scenariusz, perfekcyjne zagrane role 💯🎥❤️
One of my all time favourite movies!👌🏽👊🏽🇬🇧
me too, I love how they made movies so realistic in the past.
It's about time, you guys finally play this movie the right way from one end to the other!
July 21, 2024: Watching this b/c tmrw I'm stopping through Hope to check out some of the movie locations, thanks for posting this!!
Will you share location video on here?
I watched This film last night for the first time in a few years and I noticed new aspects this time. A marvellous portrayal all round
I hate to say it, but most are long gone.
The Hope Hotel still there though...

Know this film word for word
We used to play Rambo as game after school
I was know as jonny Rambo
Just the soundtrack reminds me of these times❤️
I seen this in 1982 at Fort knocks Kentucky, best day of my life.
80 Z AND STILL KICKIN ASS, THIS IS THE CLASSIEST MOVIE FROM '82, AND TERMINATOR THE CLASSIEST FROM '84, 80 Z FOREVER !!!!
One of my favorite movies can watch it over and over.
The best action movie. The break-out scene at the beginning is the best in all of cinema. And just when you think it's going to end like so many action movies, the scene at the end is heartbreaking, summing up how many veterans of the Vietnam conflict must have felt.
Sylvester was born for this role
This is how soldiers were treated after Vietnam.
Sad part is some vets were spat at and insulted even in uniform when all they did was follow orders
No it wasn’t, it’s just a crap movie.
@@gweilospur5877 uh no. It really did happen. And it still does to this day. My cousin was harassed during a college protest when he was in uniform during Iraq. This was 2008.
You’re so uneducated it’s not even funny. It happened. And still does.
Also if this movie is crap, why is it ranked one of the best action movies from this time?😂😂
@@betterfasterstronger0 Harassed? Was he told to get out of town for no reason, arrested, beaten up and shot at? As for crap movies, dozens of crap movies have been highly successful because movie watchers are often morons.
Gotta feel bad for Rambo at the start of the movie. First time in a long time he felt any sort of happiness due to the prospect of seeing his old war buddy. The only one besides Rambo to make it out of Nam. Only to have that hope crushed when he learns his buddy died of cancer a while ago.
Finally a movie worth watching...
Great movie
Thanks for the upload

Good point on the ads
I’m 51yo and have been waiting for this to be on you tube! This movie is what made every kid in school wish for a rambo knife! One of my favorite movies ever.
I remember watching this movie as kid back then, but never understood a word out of it because English was my language barrier at the time. But now, am a fluent speaker and it's good to hear and understand what was going on
Yep it feels good when you can finally understand things, especially if you've worked hard for it (like learning a language)
Ahhhhhhh, the good ol 80's...... appreciate yous all
80s cars, 80s towns, 80s actors, I like it
Brian Dennehy is a magnificent actor. One of my favs. He played this part so well.
I'm pretty sure this was what's called his breakout movie.
Dennehey I mean.
He made me hate him in this movie
Yeah,galing..🤩🤩🤩🤩🤩👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👍👍👍
Legendary- I have watched First Blood so many times throughout my life and its just as exciting now as when it first came out. Ranks up there with Tombstone, Young Guns, Lethal Weapon and the original Star Wars Trilogy.
This movie & hard times, an old one with Charles Bronson are 2 of the best oldies
So many actors in this movie went onto do bigger and better roles.
My favorite movie all time. Moral of the story is leave the quiet ones alone
No, it was keep bad police officers behind bars, they violated all his rights in a minute
No, moral of the story is don’t mess with the green berets.
Omg that you for uploading this movie on youtube I have been wanting to watch it for a while and it was such a good movie.
That scene wheee he’s talking about his friend and when he starts crying and leaning on troutman is a powerful scene
He misses his friend, he got disappointed when he was told that his friend died.
Terrific movie from my young adult years. If I could go back "For Just One More Day."
and do what?
@@JustJeph33 To escape the reality of today.
I would do it, too.
There shouldn't be any shame in longing for the past.
C'était de vrais bons films, pas de chichis de synthèse et 3D,pas de super héros seul contre la galaxie au scénario infini. De l'action sociale pure 👍🏻
Superb!
Et ouï😊pardi
The most thoughtful of the Rambo films. Good casting. Good script. Jerry Goldsmith excellent music as always.
Absolutely, and good actors too.
what a classic film one of the greatest rambo knock out
I saw it for the first time in 1990, I was 12. Watched about 50 times since then, learned almost every line by heart, and I will watch it again and again. Always makes me cry right from the start. It's a gem in so many ways. And the theme song - OMG. Brilliant
Awesome 👍 thanks a million.
Out of all the Rambo movies I loved First Blood Part 2. Yet this First Blood is sentimental for me.
A true masterpiece, full of meaning and inspiration. It has many parallels with Gladiator.
Yeah, the best Rambo movie
My father got me into Sylvester Stallone and I’m very happy he did. I’m his only child and daughter ❤❤❤
I have this movie on VHS and DvD but I still enjoy watching it on TH-cam 😂
First it was VHS, DVDs, and now it's smartphones.
back in 82' (the year I was born) I was in my mother's womb when she went with my dad to the cinema to watch a film called "first blood".
It's been my fave movie of all time and I am 42y.o. now
"It's in your blood"
Suddenly life has new meaning! 🤘🏻
Ive neber seen this movie . Im the widow of a Vietnam veteran who passed from agent orange. Only 4:46 into this and so far im impressed. Rip to each and every single veteran 🙏❤️🙏
People would criticize Sly, saying he couldn't act. I find him very convincing in this film.
he's an excellent Actor because he should be typecast as Rocky but we only see John J Rambo
Wrong, he could act in movies. That is why he is a movie star.
I am 55 years old but I still love watching Rambo I watched it when I was 12 years old
A classic movie thank you
One of my favorites. I always come here to watch it over and over again.
Спасибо автору за фильм❤
Thanks for saving my Saturday Night!
i just love all the rambo movies. it is so sad how the veterans were treated - after all they lived through. 😢
thank you for uploading this great movie!
I think people despised them because we didn't win. Like my friend told me, you can't eliminate what you can't see. They lived underground. We were used to fighting heads up. They would wait till you walked by, pop up from under a fake rock, and hit you from behind. Plus, they used children.
Veterans fight for our freedom and for not making anyone invade our country.
Definitely one of my top 3 FAFO Movies of all time! Thank You Mr. Sylvester Stallone!
be kind to people. who knows what hell they are going through.
TH-cam hasn't learned this concept.
They crap on the military, they crap on Vietnam vets, and they have taken a crap on my brother's grave.
TH-cam owes the military an apology and every person who has ever loss someone in the military.
especially veterans who fought for our country and our freedom.
Nice after 32 years ago Rambo Is a live he nevera die thanks Rambo for all youre pictures 😊😊😊
