    I'm doing the same thing right now. My question might be as far as the ring clip that goes in your vid. clip at 6: 04 and the ring with the 4 threaded screws. Doe the clip go on the inside of the tube clip6:34 or the out side?. I for got how I took it out.....

      almost certain it goes around the outside and snaps into those holes to hold the assembly together.

    I know its been over a year since this video, and was wondering if you posted anything else since. With the help of your video's I was able to take my column apart and am very grateful. Now I am at where you left off on your video, and was wonder if you did a follow up on how you put it all together. Where to cut and how did you figure it out. Thanks again....

      glad it helped. i had a follow up, but i don't go over in detail where to cut or measurements. just kinda go over what the final product comes out like. it probably varies a bit column to column and depending on what motor you use, but you can figure measurements out by inserting a rod into the column and using a straight edge to see where things will end up. that and using the D rod and that hollow D rod it can sleave into. if you run into an issue and can't figure it out, message me on insta or fb and i'll try to help. may need a video or pics to see where you're at on it.

    Have another question about the hook up of your system of the epas joints to the your rack. I'm just about done with mine, but I find mine is a bit sloppy from the top of the epas to the tip of the steering box. I'm not using a rack, since I'm working on a vw dune buggy.. I think my issue might be is that I tightened all the joints with the wheels off the ground, and when I checked everything was loose. What are your thoughts?

      not sure if i follow 100% so you may need to send me a short video showing me via fb or something if you can. but wheels off the ground shouldn't matter between steering box and epas as both should be mounted solid to the frame/body of the car assuming the chassis is solid and doesn't have flex. you have your epas like mine, welded/bolted to the column? i've seen some use u-joints on both ends. the epas/column should be bolted solid and the steering box should be on the frame, or has been on every vehicle i've seen. this won't take away steering slop of a gear box and linkage.

    I installed EPAS from a '09 Corolla into my daughter's '63 Nova. What kit? I used the original column and kept the column automatic shifter. Now I'm installing the same kind EPAS in my '36 Chevy coupe.

      what do you mean by "what kit?" sorry, this was an older video and my memory isn't great. if it's something i said can you give me the time stamp in the video by typing @ and the time without a space.

      @@callofgeorge Sorry about the confusion! I've been watching a lot of vids on EPAS and commented on the wrong one. Some of them showed kits for '55-57 Chevys and early Corvettes. I see you're going through the same " measure over and over and refigure everything" process I did.

    • @callofgeorge
      @callofgeorge  5 หลายเดือนก่อน

      yup, i just made my own kit essentially. measure, weld, cut, re-measure, re-weld because i measured wrong the first time lol. trial and error. but it's been treating me well for a while now. @@lylejohnston4125
