I mostly flew Navy fighters through my career. However, I did fly a super A-4 in an adversary role to simukate a MiG. My final tour was as Commanding Officer of VT-7 and I flew a lot of Air Combat Maneuvering training hops in the TA-4J. The A-4 was the most responsive plane that I flew. Unlike the Phantom and Tomcat that you strapped into, with the A-4 you felt like you strapped it on.
Awesome video of the A-4 Skyhawks mate! It's not a beauty, but very rare. Great painted tail on the first one, and nice tailhook check at 4:00. Great view on the takeoffs too! BIG Like! :)
My father flew these while he was i in the US Navy. He loved the A4 like many pilots did and said it would be around a good while .The Navy used them over 30 years. Only the B52 was used longer
excellent plane. My uncle was a4B argentine pilot during the Falklands War. where these planes were taken to the extreme limits and for which it was not manufactured fulfilling most of the missions.
For sure mis that time too. Been a lot of hours at the fence of Soesterberg in the mid 80ties during my youth. Thanks for watching my video hope you liked it.
Another outstanding video! Excellent stuff! Do you possibly have any more footage just after 2:39 showing the two pilots climbing into the cockpits? If not, could you try and get some at some point in the future if you get another chance? Keep up the fantastic work! Your videos are spectacular!

Those latter-day "humpbacks" to house extra EW/ECM gear really messed up the looks of this fine bird!
