September 9, 2017: Flight preparations, start-up, takeoff, landing and shut down of the Polish Air Force MiG-29 (70) at Kleine Brogel Air Base Spottersday. The MiG-29 made a demo rehearsal flight to Sanicole Airport, about 10 miles from Kleine Brogel AB.

Why must aviation be so polarizing. As a proud American, and in two years proud U.S. Air Force fighter pilot, I have no issue saying that the MIG-29 is one sexy airplane! Can't we all just appreciate aviation as a whole

F14 bay be overhyped ....in very capable hands Mig29 could eat the tomcat with no sweat .....Russia had R27ER missiles by that time and F14s radar systems were designed to aquire target Head-on only ....Mig29 had better ....correction...more versatile radar system

The MiG-29 just seems to have better proportions, the Su-27 looks a little stretched. Still looks good though. Just my opinion.

Я был в числе первых молодых лейтенантов, кто переучился на МиГ-29 сразу после училища. Не имя класса, минуя Липецк и минуя истребитель 3-го поколения. Тогда летало на МиГ-29 всего три полка. Нас было 12 человек. Ответственность была большая, но вылетели все. МиГ-29 - это любовь с первого полета. Идеальный истребитель. Противников у него нет практически до сих пор. Самолет-солдат. По сей день воюет вместе с МиГ-21. Советское качество )))
Мне тоже довелось при полку Миг-29, служить простым солдатом, на счёт противников не могу сказать, но то что это один из самых красивых и изящных самолётов для меня бесспорно. Миг-29 это макларен в мире самолётов, если бы я мог вернуться назад, то однозначно пошёл бы в лётчики, а как ваша служба сложилась, зная лётчиков уверен каждый из вас достоин подражания, не уверен на счёт военной службы, потому что лично я не смог бы быть военным лётчиком, извините за каламбур, но быть военным лётчиком - это в первую очередь Огромная ответственность как за технику так и за выполнение боевых задач. Конечно именно по этому военным лётчиком могут стать единицы.
Возможно сейчас в Польше самые сохранённые и качественные МиГ 29. У конечно тоже должны быть,но эти страны ВД выглядят как конфетки, неимоверно ухоженные и обслуженные, очень приятно это всё видеть, спасибо!

У бабушки в с. Чугуевка Приморского края летом каждый вечер на закате возвращались самолеты на аэродром в Соколовке. Тот самый, с которого Беленко самолёт в Японию угнал. Как услышишь звук самолёта в небе, так в памяти те вечера из детства воскресают.

I fly this jet in DCS, and it is crazy how accurately they have captured the sound of actual Mig 29 and implemented that into the game

I got to fly in a two-seater MiG29 at the Abbotsford Airshow. Impressive control considering its mechanical/hydraulic not fly-by-wire.
From what I've gathered from watching documentaries, fighter pilots always puckered when those Mig-29's showed up! Damn sure is one bad'ass aircraft!👍🏿

Notice the engine main air-intakes that remain closed during take-off and landing. MiG29 was meant to operate from improvised airfields.
Awsome Mig 29, . In early 1994, Mig 29 , visited Hawthorne,Caif. took off in less than 3,500 ft., straight up , like a rocket . Lost sight of it. Heart stopping performance.

Note 9:06 where the intake doors are closed and they are using the intakes on the top of the wings. This prevents anything being sucked into the engine when taxiing.

I work at a factory where they make su 57, these are planes that surprise me every day if they saw how the plane turns around without noise on the spot and then disappears sharply accelerating, I saw how one su 57 drove two su 35 without giving them more than one chance of course it was a training battle but it's worth a look
I always considered the MIG29 and the F16 as the most beautiful jets ever made.

Mig 29 is the hero of 1970-80. Gave great service to Indian Air Force. Big salute to Mig 29.
Mig29 was bought by IAF after 1985 and it is still in service

@@ВолодяШеломов Не, инструкция одна - сброс парашюта при достижении безопасной скорости, а специальная аэродромная команда бегает на ВПП и собирает парашюты.

На "своём" аэродроме сбросил бы, а тут они в гостях и мероприятие видать по минутам расписано, техники забегаются парашюты собирать.

I think I prefer su 27 over it, but still F18, F14, F16 and F22 are my favourites when it comes to jets.
One of mine favourite too. Iconic. On par with old p-38 lighting and red baron. It seems when properly maintained it is very competent also.

Here in Norway the corrupt politicians first bought the horrible "widow maker" F104 Star Fighter that got put into all weather fighter bomber service which it was maybe the worst airplane in the world for that role... (it is a high altitude quick interceptor to stop incoming bombers, not all weather fighter bomber). And now Norway got tricked again thanks to the ever corrupt politicians to buy the lemon of a F35 aircraft that is just trouble... American crap is what we get thanks to the politicians being totally into the pocket of American war industry.

The holes in the top of his helmet are there as vents for if he ejects, the pressure difference doesnt rip his helmet off his head.
It is difficoult to immagine that this plane was concepted and built in the early 1970ies. As at today one of the best planes.

Does the MIG-29 use an APU to kick the main engines up?
You’ll see they only have a GPU (ground power unit) providing just electrical power, so even without knowing the aircraft one can assume that there is an APU or GTS (Gas Turbine Starter) on the aircraft to provide pneumatical power for engine starting
