Well that movie was an epic story with amazing action scenes. Few plot twists that caught me off guard. Loved it! So the next film in release order was Suicide Squad (2016) right? Comment down below with your favorite parts of Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice. Also, why was the Ultimate Edition so important, what key parts did they cut out in the original release? I'm curious.
I loved that Zack Snyder made this story of how Batman had lost his way and Superman restores faith in him, its a beautiful story that really speaks to how today we as a society have so much hate, but we're more similar than we think💙
Some will say that you skip Suicide Squad because, quite frankly, as a massive DC fan it was a bad movie. But since you're doing a DCEU/DCU journey I think it is only fair and right that you get to some extent experience what we have experienced. I'll say though that if you proceed to Suicide Squad do the Extended Cut version.
It cuts out Batman's motivation, Superman's motivation, the Moment where Batman realized that he was becoming the murderer that killed his parents (specifically Martha) and made it seem like Batman just wanted to spare him because their Moms had the same name.
Yes Suicide Squad is next. When you have watched that you should watch the rest in this order: Wonder Woman, Zack Snyder's Justice League, Aquaman, Shazam!, Birds Of Prey, Wonder Woman 1984, The Suicide Squad.
Not STRAIGHT out of the Arkham games, but the closest we’ve ever gotten. I love the Warehouse Scene, but he was a bit slow in it. Very brutal and so badass, just not what we’re capable of in the Arkham series.
@@KiLlACaMrOn94 fair point although, I didn’t find him to be all that slow tbh. Not slow compared to bales Batman, and his use of gadgets in the scene really made me like it. With this Bruce I can see him being so slow and deliberate to scare the utter crap out of these dudes before sending them to the ICU lol.
@@KiLlACaMrOn94 oh my bad, I misread that. Yeah I agree, I just don’t know if they can translate the speed of Arkham Batman on screen 100%. If they cut some frames from his movements it may sell the impact a little better, but having him be just as fast as Arkham Batman may seem a little silly.
@@thatjoshwright5577 Bruh Bale batman fights were cluncky and with the added thumping sound effect to make his hits feel hard. Bale didnt have good fight scenes.
The extended cut is the original cut, the theatrical cut removed key points. It cuts out Batman's motivation, Superman's motivation, the Moment where Batman realized that he was becoming the murderer that killed his parents (specifically Martha) and made it seem like Batman just wanted to spare him because their Moms had the same name.
"the Moment where Batman realized that he was becoming the murderer that killed his parents (specifically Martha) and made it seem..." when and how was that achieved exactly?
It still doesn’t fix a lot of the stupid elements of the film like Batman being a cold blooded murderer or how Superman sees Batman shoot the same grenade at him and runs toward it instead of ya know…using his speed. Faster than a speeding bullet - gets hit by two slow ass rounds.
The Martha angle was so well setup throughout the movie. The first time I watched it in theaters, *before* the fight between Batman and Superman, I realized for the first time that their mothers had the same name. I'm not sure any other Batman/Superman story has ever pointed it out before. And it was brilliant using it, because nothing else would be able to penetrate Batman's rage, remind him of why he became a hero in the first place. It's about making sure no boy ever has to lose his parents ever again.
Which was the whole point of it that so many "critics" missed "Hurrr they stop fighting cos our moms have the same name" The reality is that Clark knows Batman is Bruce Wayne. He calls her Martha knowing it would trigger Bruce. And it works; Bruce realises he's become no better than Joe Chill. And he promises that "Martha won't die tonight", seeking his redemption in saving Martha Kent in the memory of Martha Wayne.
Just going to ignore his speech about Superman being a major threat, also Bruce watching his own employees being killed thanks to Superman? Oh, but their mom's have the same name so all is forgiven LOL fuck off.
@@jim191185 The thing about Bruce's speech is it was fueled by paranoia and hatred, and Alfred *immediately* calls him out on it in the movie. In fact, there's a logical answer to *everything* Bruce hates about Superman, like the fact that it was Zod, not Clark, who destroyed Wayne Financial and the Wayne satellite. But logic isn't enough to cut through rage. Only emotion can fight emotion. He had to be able to put himself in Clark's shoes. Bruce lost his parents, and now Clark was about to lose his. It got Bruce to empathize with him for the first time. Nothing else could have gotten him to see Clark as anything other than a threat.
@@PaperbackWizard Sorry but that seems like the biggest cop-out, cheesy bullshit excuse to entirely change Bruce's opinion of the wrecking ball alien that bought nothing but destruction with it lol. The safety of the planet suddenly put back at risk because of 2 names coincidentally being the same LOL. Did a 12 year old write the script?... You didn't need to explain this weak ass writing, I cringed at how infantile the writing was.
Fun fact: it made over a billion worldwide adjusted for inflation (yes inflation is that bad now), and also broke records for digital/bluray sales. It was on the iTunes top 10 movie sales for MONTHS after release. No matter what the haters say, they are 100% wrong when they say it was a commercial failure. It was 100% successful, no matter how you try and spin it.
@@RevRyukin7 it’s a shame that the studio execs cut the original cut down which had all the critics dumping hate on it. At the very least, this movie is good. The opening 3 minute sequence in itself is just soooo stellar.
The intro of Wonder Woman , always give me goosebumps. And the music when Superman die , choir theme , always make me cry ^^ this movie is very good. Zach snyder is a genius.
He got so much hate that he left the role, but the love for Batfleck has surfaced, and I have a feeling he'll be back. I have hope. Loved Ben Affleck's Batman.
The armor with the Jokers writing was Robins armor. Heavy implications that Robin died by the hands of Joker probably Jason Todd I would have to guess. I'm pretty sure its there to help solidify that this batman is way older along with him being able to kill so easily and I believe he says it in the movie to.
Snyder confirmed Joker killed Dick Grayson in this universe, and David Ayer said the reason Leto’s Joker has a “grill” in Suicide Squad is because Batman broke all his teeth after killing Robin.
This was really a breath of fresh air. Just a guy coming in open minded, preconceived notions aside, watching a movie in the most unbiased way possible and forming his own opinion. One of the best reactions I've ever watched. Need more like you
This was the film that reinstated my love for Batman and DC when I watched it for the first time in March. Absolutely incredible storytelling, I’m so glad that you enjoyed it as well!
@@resikin Im so happy to see people appreciating Zacks work even though it wasn't well received at the time I'm just happy more open minded people are giving his Dc movies a fair shot. Thank You!
This is, hands-down, my favorite comic-book movie. I could go on for days about everything I love about it. To answer your question about the pearls, they were not always as significant to Bruce's backstory as they are now. The 1986 graphic novel The Dark Knight Returns reinvented much of the Batman mythos, including the pearl necklace Martha wore the night of the Waynes' murders. Frank Miller wrote the graphic novel, and much of this movie is heavily inspired by it, including Batman's look and fight with Superman.
I would like to think that the pearls signify as a memory imprint associated with a trauma experience. Bruce seems to have PTSD from witnessing his parents' death. The pearls would be like a visual trigger burned in his subconscious.
It’s such a great movie and I’m so glad they decided to show the full vision with the ultimate edition. I liked the Theatrical cut and loved the ultimate edition.
@@KiLlACaMrOn94 First of all, I love Zack's take on Superman. He makes him feel vulnerable and human, as opposed to the perfect person he is in comics, which always felt unattainable to me. But this is a Superman who is unsure of himself, and doesn't know if he should even continue to be Superman in a world that doesn't want him. In a way, it's Jonathan Kent's worst fear come true. But Clark persists and does what he thinks is right anyway. And in the end, he isn't Superman because it's what he has to be or because it what someone else wants him to be; he chooses to be Superman and to die for a world that may not accept him, but he chooses it nonetheless because it's Lois's world, and she is everything to him. And his sacrifice redeems Batman, who is my favorite live-action Batman. This isn't a Batman we're used to seeing (even though EVERY live-action Batman has killed people). This is a Batman who's lost too much and become jaded and bitter, to the point where he decides to act preemptively and murder Superman. But the movie at no point condones this course of action. The whole way, we see Alfred try to warn Bruce that this isn't right, and we can see it's exactly what Lex wants. This isn't a story where Batman is the hero, he is the tragic figure, fallen from grace. And only at the last possible moment does he realize how far he has truly fallen. Now he is the monster in the alley. And then he sees what he perceives to be the biggest threat to the world sacrifice himself to save it, including the man who would have been his executioner. And in that moment, Bruce's faith in the goodness of humanity is restored. He says as much. Earlier, he says, "How many good guys are left? How many stayed that way?" But at the end, he says, "Men are still good... We can do better. We have to." And we see evidence of that faith when he specifically chooses NOT to brand Lex, even though it's clearly what he deserves. By showing mercy, Bruce redeems himself, in his eyes if no others. And then there's the Knightmare sequence. There are so many layers to this it's not even funny. Even back then, Zack knew *exactly* where his overall story was going to go and was laying the seed work. But we couldn't see the full picture, and most people thought it was filler that could be removed. But just imagine if we had gotten Zack's JL sequels that explored a world taken over by Darkseid and the Anti-Life Equation and then coming back to this sequence. It would feel so natural and fit so perfectly, and the idea that it should have been removed would be laughable. But as it is, it still functions perfectly within the story the movie tells. On the one hand, it's Bruce's fears of the worst-case scenario if Superman is left unchecked. On the other, it vindicated Lex's claim that is all-powerful, he cannot be all good. Because when Clark dies to save Earth, he shows his goodness and his weakness. But by being resurrected in the future Bruce sees, he becomes a tyrant, showing his power but also his corruption. And only by getting Zack's entire vision would we see how that could be avoided. Alas, it's not to be. I will content myself with the fact we got Snyder's Justice League and be happy with what I consider to be a perfect trilogy of movies, and imagine what could have been with the storyboards we know exist for JL2 and 3.
@@TheBoondocksaint117 Amazing, you hit on almost everything that makes these movies (especially BvS), but still not everything because it is so jam packed for us fans. Great explanation and points. I FUCKING LOVE THIS MOVIE!
I think it is a common misconception among non DC fans or non Superman fans, I think you also have this notion to be honest, that just because he was all this superhuman or godly feats he is above all human kind thus not connecting or relating to him but if you think about it cleary and also explore his comics he is more human than what we gave him credit for. I've said this before in your MoS reaction, Supes is not designed for us to look at a god like being but he is designed for us to see what we the humanity are capable of doing regardless having powers or not. He is why the Justice League is formed and why he is their leader.
Batman is leader of the JL, in the comics, animated shows and video games. Bruce Wayne formed the JL with his money and will power to bring justice. 👍🏼
The saddest thing about this movie is that it sets up so many interesting things that were supposed to be unveiled in the future movies but it never happened and never will...
The marta scene is something that everyone memes on about but its one of the strongest moments because batman realises that superman isn't a villain nor a god he is just a boy,he loves his mom and gives batman a chance to fight for the weak and save a mother,an innocent ,it is a chance for batman to realise the whole reason he does what he does
G'day it's Steven from Down Under In 1978 at the age of nine I watched Superman the movie in a theatre here in Sydney and that's when I believed that a man could fly and there really was good in the world, from that point forward I became a DC fan, not a "fanboy" but a fan nonetheless, and of course the late Mr.Christopher Reeve truly put his stamp on the character. I was never drawn to the Marvel comics or characters, all my life it's been about the greatest superhero known to mankind, Superman and also Wonder Woman and Batman. This is a very underrated movie and the extended version does it justice, it certainly is darker and there's more realism than the lollipop Marvel franchise, and maybe that's a reason it hasn't enjoyed the same level of box office success. I really enjoyed your reaction and I highly recommend that you react to Justice League, "not" the 2017 theatrical release, I'm referring to the 2021 re-release, and if you're aware of the history of this particular film you'll understand why, this is the director's full vision being told that couldn't be told in the original 2017 release due to a family tragedy and that release was completed by another director that, well, ruined the overall film.
39:55 Yes it is also that way in the comics. That scene was meant to show just how low Batman had fallen where he’d become the very thing that took a boy away from his mother to make him be Batman in the first place.
@@Donald_J_Trump115 the media and marvel poisoning opinions. This movie isn’t perfect but no movie is. As you can see, objective opinion tends to like this movie. It is criminally underrated. It’s not a bad movie either. Black Adam is a pretty bad movie.
I love how you understood the importance of the Martha scene. Bruce had become what he had been fighting for so long. Clark saying Martha snapped him back to understand he and Clark are not that different
@@MSgt_0699 yep worst superhero film ever made. I couldn’t understand anything that happened in that film. It wasn’t bright and colorful full of farts jokes. Horrible Horrible film. 😎
@@RasheedJones Exactly. Some dude down the thread criticized it for how flippant the government was to use a nuke. Funny how launching one into space to kill Doomsday is a problem, but launching one on New York City in Avengers was just great fun! Haters are irrational because they keep hiding the truth of their misery. Lacking their feels in MoS, they screamed "not my Superman." The nonsense started there.
Snyder and Affleck’s Batman is a unique take to what we’re used to. Instead of starting us at the origin again and showing his journey to becoming Batman, in BvS we meet a Bruce that has already been Batman for 20 years without a change in Gotham and has lost his way after the loss of his family in Robin. This Batman is angry and is slowly turning into the criminals that he originally set out to take down. Snyder’s Batman story is ultimately one of redemption as Superman inspires Batman to self reflect and rediscover what it means to be Batman, to become a better person and embrace a new family in Superman, Wonder Woman, and the Justice League. Some people weren’t onboard with this story because they didn’t like a Batman that basically starts off as the villain, but I think this is such a fantastic and different direction to take the character whilst still being distinctly Batman.
Super underrated film. Great reaction. So Batman's plane is called the Batwing and Wonder Woman's Lasso is called the Lasso of Truth or the Lasso of Hestia. Also, may be controversial but I love the Martha scene. Writing wise it's brilliant imo bcuz it takes the depressed, Batman that has lost all hope and his way (by killing) and that scene restores his faith in humanity and makes him hopeful again. He sees that Alfred was right, Superman is not the enemy, bcuz he has a mother that he cares more for than his own life. Superman is not begging for Batman to spare him, Superman is begging Batman to save his mother. And yes their mothers in the comics are both Martha, Martha Wayne and Martha Kent. It's never been addressed in the comics but I think it was smart for Zack Snyder to utilize that for yet another point to get Bruce to realize he's lost his way. He's become the criminal he swore to stop. Notice he doesn't kill after that point or brand Lex in the prison cell after that point. When talking to Wonder Woman at Superman's funeral, Bruce is hopeful again towards humanity and believes again that they're innately good. Superman is the symbol of Hope in the DC universe and this movie pays huge homage to that.
Quick fun fact about Wonder Woman, she is carrying the Ancient Greek sword and shield bestowed to Zeus’s son the Demi god Perseus, the main character in clash of the titans. It was supposed to be a sword that can cut through anything, and a shield that nothing can pierce. Both made by the God of smiths Hephaestus. There have been jokes if they were used again at each other a paradox would happen and the universe would implode. Which means while her shield doesn’t have the energy storage factor it is a stronger shield then captain America from the MCU. And she has the bracers for energy absorption. To compare her to an MCU character in a fair fight you would need Thor wielding both the god slayer sword and captains shield. And even then I believe WW’s sword and shield are superior as their designs are absolute in what they do.
Under no circumstances watch the theatrical version of Justice League. Joss Wheadon completely destroyed Zac Snyder's original vision. "Zack Snyder's Justice League" is long (like 4 hours) but totally worth it. After seeing it, the theatrical version is unwatchable garbage in comparison.
@@tay-dor7147 Obviously they tried to put a twist on things so it's not 1 to 1 comic book, not everyone enjoys that, just so it's somewhat fresh. Some things worked, some things didn't. It's a serviceable adaptation that mashes up different comic book arcs into one, some creative liberties were taken, ultimately for better storytelling. I can respect that.

I think Watchmen is the greatest superhero movie ever made and I think Man of Steel is the greatest Superman movie ever made. I think BvS is almost completely dogshit and the Snyder Cut is 2.75 hours of greatness and 1.25 hours of Snyder jerking off while gazing into a mirror.
You were spot on about Lex, that’s Alexander Luthor, Lex’s son. Most ppl missed that. Also, the Jimmy Olsen they used isn’t from the comics. He’s a CIA agent that used someone’s name from her company to keep his identity safe.
I love this movie! One of my favorites in this genre. A superman that still searches for his meaning in life (what he can do, what he should do) and a batman that became violent and blind from anger over the last years. Most underrated movie in history.
They went for semi realistic in MOS, witch is lost on this one, Batman branding people is beyond unnecessary plot-wise, it's going nowhere and does nothing, L.Luthor acts like Joker, the MARTHA moment, do i need to say more? Detonating a nuc with no trouble afterwards. Finding conveniently the JL "clues" in the most naive and childish way, etc. etc. it's a bloody mess. FUN, sure, fun, but a hot mess with a LOT of potential, waisted.
It is an incredibly overhated and overly scrutinized movie ever (especially for comic book movies), very much underrated. People didn't trust the vision and let the director's do their complete vision. We could've eventually got to the more "hopeful" superman because they were doing a literal ARC for it. Also, people complaining about Batman killing are outrageous. He kills plenty of times in the comics and does so when he is driven to that point. They wanted to show how it all happened but people didnt have any patience for the world building. There was going to be references to it in suicide squad and in Ben affleck's batman movie, which was ruined by WB
@@4Everlast he stopped branding at the end(when confronting Lex). Superman selfless sacrifice even when half of the world was seeing him as a potential threat, made Batman a man again.. the dream sequence where Bruce visit his parents grave the thing that comes out of the grave is the personification of the monster Batman has become! He has lost his way. But in the end Superman's death gave him hope.
@@4Everlast The Martha moment is simple and subtle. Until the very last moment batman treated superman as if he is not a MAN..he treated him like a thing(with less or no regard for human life) thats why he said You were never even a man. (Lets put this way you wouldn't kill a chicken if its got your mother's name will ya?) 13:36 NO SPOILER That is Robin's suit. Technically it'll be Jason Todd's / 2nd Robin's suit. It is pretty well known among DC fans why and how that suit became damaged and vandalized. I won't say the specific event in case you want to read the comic but if you want to know about it then please do tell.
@@fromkieran Wich is terrible because with that: 1. He ereased/killed Nightwing. 2. He erased Jason Todd from scratch, so Red Hood never existed. For some who say that he knows and understands DC better than anyone, this proves otherwise unless he doesn't think too far into the future, just facts.
@@Master_of_Merol81 I think that despite missing Nightwing to be part of the universe, thematically makes sense for him to be the one murdered. For Batman to be even further into a dark path, makes sense for him to lose someone as important as his first son. And even in TDKR there is no sign of Grayson just to have him in the sequel as the New Joker (which even was one of the theories here about Leto's Joker). So for the time BvS happens makes sense for him to either be dead or else he would be a a new Joker. I'd say that shows that Snyder knows his stuff.
@@Master_of_Merol81 And DC canon has been rebooted many times to the point that the latest one made everything part of canon, even when it doesn't make sense. At the end it doesn't matter if that is the source material decided to be used for the story to be told.
So cool to see how much fun you are having with these movies! And great you watched the Ultimate Edition. Next would be either Suicide Squad (which sadly the true director's cut hasn't come out yet, but oh, well), or Wonder Woman and then Zack Snyder's Justice League (an incredible 4 hour epic).
I don't care what people say about this, I love it from the bottom of my heart, truly an underrated masterpiece. It's a shame that when BvS came out people wanted a Marvel film with DC characters.Thank God today people are appreciating this film more, maybe because the saturation of the MCU and CBM in general. BvS is a film for comic book fans and for an audience that likes some more "mature" CBM in my opinion. So many memorable moments, great balance between dialogues that build up the plot and killer action scenes. And once again: Zack Snyder and Larry Fong NAILED IT in how comic book accurate the visuais are. Zack's vision is from a truly comic book fan, there are several scenes that are identical to some comic pages and some incredible original shots from Larry Fong. And what can I say the music ? Another brilliant and memorable score by Hans Zimmer and teaming up with Junkie XL? Easily one of the best things of the whole DCEU. But after all BvS is an flawless film ? Of course not, some characters/plot decisions may have been misleading ...But it's an unique film with beautiful visuals, score and with some major balls in the superhero cinematic world, nobody would do what Snyder did here, and I thank him for giving me the best experience I had in theaters and one of the happiest days of my life. Yes, next is Suicide Squad and that one along with Birds of Prey are definitely the downs of the DCEU,but since you're watching all the films it's worth to check out mainly because Margot Robbie does a terrific job.
The fact that you were able to pick up on everything while being new to DC, even the small nuances that were lost on the haters, shows that you are a comic book fan and this movie was made for us. Hopefully you choose the Snydercut for Justice League.
Jesse Eisenberg playing Mark Zuckerberg as Lex Luthor was not a choice not everyone liked but I was into it. Very topical before everyone realized how big a villain Zuck actually is in real life
49:30 love that you liked his portrayal of Lex. So did I, I thought he did a great job at portraying the socially awkward, borderline psychopathic, silicon valley tech billionaire. Sadly a lot of people didn't like him because they wanted him to act a certain way instead, a more overserious big bald guy like other portrayals. I feel comic fans come into movies with too many expectations, then inevitably get upset when the movie tries to do a unique interpretation. It's no wonder you liked the portrayal since you went in with an open mind. 🙂
This lex is based on superman : birthright comic. Rich, young billionaires and psychotic person. Its return to lex luthor original portrayal from golden age where he actually mad scientist. Lex indeed is redhead in comic, his got bald because of kryptonite exposure
Jesse Eisenberg did a phenomenal job as Lex. I liked his dialogue and how he delivers his lines, making it layered in meaning. When he says "we don't have to depend upon the kindness of monsters," there's a subtle Machivellian aspect to his tone.
This is unrelated, but unfortunately, Kevin Conroy, the man behind the voice of Batman in the Batman Animated Series, Justice League Animated Series, The Arkham games, just passed away
The pearls signify Bruce's state of mind. They get fractured at the moment of his parents death but he actually finds them all and remakes the broken necklace. Its a symbol of him holding on to the past. That's why in a dark knight rises, selena kyle steals it as it still means a lot to him. Its the first action to help him move past this trauma. Eventually he moves on bc of her and the people that love him.))0 well in his film spoiler ( superman inspires him for redemption) But don't be fooled batman is the main villain and threat to superman. Lex is superb as well. As if elon musk felt pushed out of the spotlight by this perfect alien
You are the proof that this film was so underrated cause of prejudice, at the time. You, with no information and 6 years later, love the movie. This is a crazy and awesome CBM! Awesome video man! Some answers that you ask for: The guy who can travel through time, is flash ;) The post apocalyptic vision is a possible future, if superman go evil by.... darkside's anti-life equation, but you'll discover that in the sequel. Wonder woman is an amazon, created by zeus, so she's immortal Superman can regenerate his cells with sun rays, but he is mortal. The "devil like" thing at the end, u will discover who he is in the sequel, Zack Snyder's Justice League! I suggest u to watch wonder woman before suicide squad and then zack snyder justice league!!
The omega symbol that appeared in the nightmare sequence is a sign that darkseid will arrive . Think of thanos as the darkseid of marvel considering how thanos's author literally said he got inspired by darkseid ,but darkseid is just on a whole other level when it comes to strength and abilities when compared to thanos

13:33 that was Robin's suit. Burned and Charred after the Joker killed him. In comics and animated series you see Joker kill Robin. This shows that this movie and this version of Batman are after the events of Robin getting killed; something that also drove Batman down a blood drunk path
This is one of the best reviews of this movie I have seen from someone who openly confesses they prefer Marvel movies. In very few occasions did he have trouble following the complicated and important parts of this Masterpiece of a comic superhero movie. When we see the apocalyptic scenes which has Batman in a trench coat fighting Superman’s Army and Darkseid’s Parademons this is taking place in another time line which was setting up the DCs Multiverse. The flash was in a metal suit in that timeline and asks Bruce Wayne if he was too early and asks him to fear him he was right to fear him, which in that time line Darkseid kills Lois and takes control of the Anti-Life equation which he then uses to control Superman. The warehouse fight scene is above and beyond any fight scene in any of the Batman movies. Again thumbs
I don't know about the comics, but in this scene the pearls are falling because *everything* is falling in that scene. There's snow falling, the pearls, the leaves at the funeral, Bruce falling into the cave, even his monologue is about how "what falls is fallen". It's symbolic of the deep fall Bruce had when his parents where murdered (notice how the pearl falling is intercut with Bruce falling down the cave, their murder is intercut with Bruce literally hitting rock bottom). The bats obviously represent the idea of Batman "lifting him into the light". But he then says it was a beautiful lie, Batman didn't save him at all, it was just a comforting lie he believed. It sets up a Bruce that's lost his faith in The Batman, and life in general.
I think an important think to realize about that fight scene with Doomsday is that Superman was still recovering from some serious Kryptonite exposure from his fight with Batman. I would imagine that while the more immediate debilitating effects had worn off, the aerosolized rounds Batman used on him were still in his system somewhat weakening him. This is probably why Supes was getting ragdolled so much by Doomsday. Plus the fight was occurring at night, so there was no direct sunlight to help him.
The man who shouts to Bruce from amidst an electrical fluctuation is The Flash (Barry Allen). Without giving anything away: he has traveled from a possible future to warn Bruce of impending calamity. _Zack Snyder’s Justice League_ provides additional context to this scene, alluding to Flash’s reason for traveling to this moment. It is worth noting that, although we as the audience are clearly meant to _infer_ that Flash’s "fear him" warning refers to Superman, it is possible that he is referring to someone else, as he never actually specifies any name. The urgency of this scene implies that Flash’s travel to the past can only be sustained for a limited duration, and therefore, he must make sure his message to Bruce is concise and effective. When Barry gets frustrated and says "I’m too soon", it’s because he realizes he has traveled to a point *too early* in time for the message to fully make sense to Bruce.
Absolutely loving these man. It’s so awesome to see you with next to no knowledge on it all just enjoying the films! Felt like their was a massive smear campaign against them for years, still is, but it’s nice to see that people are still able to look with an open mind and enjoy them! Loving this, can’t wait for the next!
When the Superman soldiers don't shoot Batman in the "dream"/ "Knightmare Timeline" Superman has ordered his soldiers to take Bruce alive. You can see them visibly panic and freeze up (cause he's Batman lol). Once they gang up on him though they don't hesitate to get their hits in. Supes wanted to be the one to kill Bruce. Just my impression of the scene ✌️
The Omega is the symbol of Darkseid of the New Gods. The winged things are his henchmen called Parademons. For reference that "dream sequence" is heavily referential to a comic story line called Injustice, that was done as a video game tie-in.
To Answer all your questions: Wonder Woman is immortal, but she can be killed, also her lasso is called the Lasso Of Truth and if she wraps it around you, it forces you to tell the truth And in this universe, Joker killed Robin in the past, that's why Robin's suit that was hanging up has joker writing on it The "he" that Lex was referring to is Darkseid, which is DC's Thanos. He is the main villain of the DCEU *Also the next movie in this universe is Suicide Squad (2016) and I recommend that you watch the extended edition of it*
The Knightmare sequence wasn't a dream. It was the future. I love this movie. Soooooo underrated. Make sure yoh watch the Snyder Cut of Justice League.
The Joker vandalism on the one Robin costume is because Joker did canonically kill one of Batman's many sidekicks that called themselves, "Robin". The armor is there "in memoriam".
Many people didn’t like this version of Batman or Superman, but imo they’re my favs. I like seeing characters that we know to be a certain way, like Batman and Superman, show a little more humanity or Inner turmoil; In the sense of how hard it is to be a “hero” or a symbol of good all the time. How it can break down a character or person emotionally and mentally. To me it’s something that made me relate with these characters more. Anyone who’s tried to be a good person in life but can’t catch a break or always seems to fall short, understands this feeling.
What most failed to realize is that these movies still had an opportunity to evolve into the characters we are use to. Yes Clark accidentally killed a lot ppl when the planet was invaded, yes he attacked terrorist ( no deaths confirmed there at his hands btw ) but the point of all that was Clark finding himself, who he wants to be what he stands for etc.. the more campy Superman still could have come out of this, and it would be great to see all that development. Same goes for Bruce, yes we all know Batman has a no kill rule, he’s completely against guns etc.. but we also know that after the death of Jason Todd he momentarily changed and became more ruthless. “Fans” tend to ignore the fact that there was clearly a horribly burned and beaten Robin suit in the cave with a spray painted message on it from the joker himslef.. aka Jason Todd is dead.. a few stand alone films could have shown us the Batman before all that, as well as the Batman after his interaction with Superman. There was a lot of ways this could have went well if DC wouldn’t have tried to jump on the woke train.
As a DC fan i'll try my best to answer some of the questions you had; Jimmy Olsen in the comics is a photographer for the daily planet. in this film he was made gritty and killed cause of the tonal direction Zack Snyder made for this series of films. Wonder Womans powers are super strength, speed, flight, invulnerability, healing, immortality and she has access to a host of mythical weapons (the Lasso of Truth, the Aegis Gaunlets on her wrists) because she is a Greek goddess. DC uses the Greek pantheon the way Marvel uses the Norse pantheon. The person who game through the rift to warn Bruce during the "Knightmare" sequence was The Flash. He can move through space and time with his super speed. I appreciate your positive reception to these films as I, personally, have had a hard time being a fan of DC comics because of some of these movies and its just nice to see. I'd recommend skipping Suicide Squad (not to be confused with THE Suicide Squad which is brilliant) and Wonder Woman 1984 as they're just bizarre but the others are pretty good. Oh and when you get to Justice League don't watch the 2017 original cut watch the Snyder Cut, though it is very long. Or you know you can watch whatever I'm not telling you what to do or nothing. but yea keep up the good content :)
1. The future “dreams” are exactly why Snyder needs to be allowed to finish his vision for these stories. I am 99% I know where he’s going with it and I NEED him to tell the rest. 2. I have recently discovered your channel and I for one really enjoy your reactions but also really appreciate your insight to certain themes that aren’t entirely apparent to everyone. Looking forward to watching even more.
the pearls .. and the fact its USUALLY the Mark Of Zorro they have gone to see .. they are from a comic by frank miller The Dark Knight Returns (1986). Batman vs Superman in particular takes LARGE inspiration from this comic
The pearls are a visual que for the point when Bruce lost his sanity. A pearl is also known to represent sanity, especially when chained together in a necklace. The breaking of the necklace is like the saying 'losing your marbles'!
I have to say I really appreciate you going into this with an open mind. I think going in with the understanding that this isn’t your typical versions of all these characters and events makes it easier to accept the changes from the “canon.” And it is truly an epic movie once you do accept that this is its own story.
That symbol represents Darkseid, (pronounced Darkside). He is a really big deal in the DC universe. He travels the universe from planet to planet conquering its population and enslaving them as Parademons, those flying things in Bruce's vision. Darkseid is extremely powerful and hard to kill as his true form resides in a different universe.
Batmans mask is splitted in half just like two face,he monologs just like bane,Bruce uses green gas just like joker he became what he was fighting to...bruce lost his fate because everyone died in his hands (catwomen was batmans wife but died in his hands).
Glad you enjoyed it!! Welcome aboard! lol It's nice when you can watch something with an open mind and realize that each is merely a different interpretation of what came before it. This is still my #1 fave cbm of all time followed by CA-TWS. Both masterpiece in their own right.
The theater version of BvS while I thought was still pretty good I can see why it wasn’t for everyone. But the Ultimate Edition I love to death in my personal top 5 CBM. Up until The Batman with Pattison Ben Affleck was my favorite live action Batman absolutely loved him in the role, his story, and his suit and still do but I do think Pattison overall is a bit better.
Pattinson could one day be a better Batman maybe a better Bruce but it all depends on how his trilogy plays out. Right now I absolutely hate the emo look Bruce rocked in the first film. That being said Ben has returned for more Batman so I highly doubt Robert will be able to surpass him 🤷
@@DeAndre_Moffett I think it works for the younger Bruce that Pattinson is playing. It's no big secret that "Batman" is his real persona. "Bruce Wayne" the billionaire playboy philanthropist is the alter-ego. Batman Begins did the same thing when Rachel tells Bruce that his public face is his "mask". The only difference is that in The Batman, Bruce is so young in his career that he hasn't developed his public mask persona yet. The film highlights that he doesn't go out much. So as the trilogy progresses, I anticipate he'll lose the emo look and start acting like how Bale did, driving around in fast cars, having each arm around hot women etc
Fun fact. Zack Snyder fully intended on revisiting Doomsday in a later film as we were given hints that something similar had been done before and Krypton's moon in Man of Steel was shattered. The plan was for a comic accurate Doomsday to eventually arrive. Shame we'll never get to see it.
I've seen complaints about Batman backing down after the "Martha" scene. I think that's the perfect solution. It takes something as personal as one losing his mother and seeing the other's desperation to save his for Batman to see Superman's humanity. Until that point, he didn't see him as human.
I would think because the pearls are synonymous with something pure beautiful and precious. And having them ripped apart and crumbing is a effective way to illustrate what was stolen from Bruce!
Yes, Bruce and Clark`s mothers were both named Martha in the Comics(Although technically Clark/Kal-El`s biological mother was Lara-Van, Kara/Supergirl is Clark/Kal`s cousin because her father was Jor-El`s older brother.)
Which is why WB insisted that MoS be followed up with BvS, instead of what Nolan and Snyder intended. This is a movie that should have come after an MoS 2 could complete the Superman development story and after a Batman movie to fully explore Bruce's state of mind. Haters would have still crapped their pants, but they have proven unpleasable anyway.
the suit with sprayed "Jokes on you Batman" is Robins suit and it was written by Joker when he killed Boy Wonder, its was supposed to be discussed more in Afflecks solo movie which never happened.
Next is zack snyder's justice league, it continues directly from last few minutes of batman vs superman. Although its 4 hrs long.
The fight in the warehouse is probably the most badass Batman fight ever in live action. So cool

Dude the trinity against DOOMSDAY was EPIC.
I remember how memorable Wonder Woman entrance. I cant forgot that.
Yep
Like the arkham games coming to life
The Batman warehouse fight scene is the single best live action Batman fight put to screen. It’s straight out of the Arkham games.
@@thatjoshwright5577 slow compared to Arkham versions, not Bale or any other Batman actor.
Yeah the “Ultimate” edition. It’s much better & it’s about 30 mins longer. It makes the film more understandable.
Sadly. I don't have time for Extended Editions. Director's Cut. This Is "The Real Movie Edition" I have a lot to do, and movies can't waist my time
@@jdeamaral lol. Sucks for you dude.
This movie never deserved the hate it got....THIS MOVIE WAS SO BADASS AND GOOD 🤩
it was the casual Andy who disliked the movie cuz they cant follow a simple plot and the fact its not their flashy joke filled supe movie by Marvel.
I still rate it 8.5/10 it's a great decent film .
Wonder Woman,Man of steel,Dark Night,Aquaman are among the best comic movies
If this is what you consider a good movie I cannot imagine what you consider a bad movie.
It had its flaws but it was still a damn good watch. The extended cut at least.
Superman saving people montage always gets me... Sends chills down my spine..
Which was the whole point of it that so many "critics" missed
"Hurrr they stop fighting cos our moms have the same name"
The reality is that Clark knows Batman is Bruce Wayne.
@@jim191185
Another lolcow who thinks its just about names
It was a box office success making $873 million dollars against a $250 million dollar budget, but it wasn't without the negative Reviews by Critics.
873 million ??? WOW.I like the director's cut so much better than the theatrical release.
Considering the fact that it got so much biased hate and still made that much money is acutely pretty impressive.
There are how many Fast & Furious movies?

The intro of Wonder Woman , always give me goosebumps. And the music when Superman die , choir theme , always make me cry ^^ this movie is very good. Zach snyder is a genius.

The armor with the Jokers writing was Robins armor. Heavy implications that Robin died by the hands of Joker probably Jason Todd I would have to guess. I'm pretty sure its there to help solidify that this batman is way older along with him being able to kill so easily and I believe he says it in the movie to.
Snyder confirmed it's the suit of a dead robin killed by Joker.
Snyder said it was Dick Grayson's
@@TamrailKinogo oh okay perfect even better 👍
Snyder confirmed Joker killed Dick Grayson in this universe, and David Ayer said the reason Leto’s Joker has a “grill” in Suicide Squad is because Batman broke all his teeth after killing Robin.

@@WorlBoss Yeah I was absolutely bewildered as to how some people hated it so much.
Please do go on. 👏🏽👏🏽😃😁
How many stayed that way?"
But at the end, he says, "Men are still good...

The marta scene is something that everyone memes on about but its one of the strongest moments because batman realises that superman isn't a villain nor a god he is just a boy,he loves his mom and gives batman a chance to fight for the weak and save a mother,an innocent ,it is a chance for batman to realise the whole reason he does what he does
G'day it's Steven from Down Under
In 1978 at the age of nine I watched Superman the movie in a theatre here in Sydney and that's when I believed that a man could fly and there really was good in the world, from that point forward I became a DC fan, not a "fanboy" but a fan nonetheless, and of course the late Mr.Christopher Reeve truly put his stamp on the character.

I watched your reaction from start to finish, excellent job! Be sure to watch Zack Snyder’s Justice League (2021) next!
ZSJL start right after Wonder Woman.
Suicide Squad is after this movie then Wonder Woman then Justice League then Aquaman then Birds of Prey then Wonder Woman 2 then Suicide Squad 2.
@@IVMZR Wonder Woman takes place in the past, you don’t have to watch it first
@@resikin I'd recommend WW to anyone as an in-between before the ZSJL. It's a good lead with an understanding of Diane and the Amazons for that movie.
It's been really wholesome watching you understand Zacks movies without any bias or weighted expectations, it's great to see :)
something small that I love is that despite all Lex's setups he still needed to force Superman to fight Batman
I envy your innocence w regards to all this DC lore it just adds so much excitement for the movie.
so happy to see someone enjoy jesses lex as much as me in real time love your reactions man
He sucked as Luthor. Completely failed to get the character from the comics.

Heavily underrated movie.
Lex and Batman are easily the best characters in this movie
Just stumbled on your channel a couple days ago, and I'm so excited for your DCU journey
Also...PLEASEEE...when you get to Justice League, watch the 2021 version of the film please please please.
Not the one that came out in 2017
Criminally underrated fact: Batman's theme/score portrayal by Junkie XL is dark haunting and perfect....it really gave me so much anticipation and chills......i really wish it had reprised in both the josstice league as well as the Snyder cut
I love your commentary man, you make me notice things I didn't when I watch the movie!! Please do all the DCEU movies. I love what you're doing
It's so good to see you're reactions without any bias and that you can appreciate them without having the influence of those who literally hate the movies only because they hate Zack Snyder. You've got a new subscriber and I'm excited to see more if these along with your other videos!
Actually he is Lex, Lex is short for Alexander, but yes Lex has always been named after his father, the Alexander in this movie is the actual Lex.
And notice superman could've say my mother but would that helped him to stop bruce from killing him? No.. cause for batman his mother is of significance! (Lets put this way you wouldn't kill a chicken if its got your mother's name will ya?) Giving his MOTHER a name is somewhat making him relatable(as human).. cause if you were to kill any other life form other than human their progeny won't be asking you to spare their parents they would attack you... superman even when he is facing death, he is thinking of saving his mom (MARTHA =a human).
@@doctainted1808 The small but loud community was blown out up the "critics", the thing still made 900 mil.! It has definite tonal problems, even aesthetically man, in a serious bat-sup's movie with Jimmy getting a damn bullet to the head, terrorists and trying to understand the position of a small G god and then you give me a fuckin Batman suit with a spear that looks like a live action toy, or something out of the Schoemaker movies?! Comic books yeah yeah, animated looks solid, live action it looks unintentionally hilarious. Get Doomsday's ass out of here, it's to early for that shit, it was too early for Zod and a planetary attack as well, and they doubled down on it?! You kill a cold, bland superman and expect people to care or get mind blown that such a big character got "killed"? Come on now.
I agree batman killing especially this wild, angry batman with a bloody background of potentially loosing Robin, it's perfectly understandable.
4:43 - No, dude, that's Hydra. See Callan Mulvey?
(I'm kidding, but that actor has a few appearances in the MCU - usually right behind Frank Grillo as Rumlow.)
13:36 NO SPOILER
That is Robin's suit. Technically it'll be Jason Todd's / 2nd Robin's suit. It is pretty well known among DC fans why and how that suit became damaged and vandalized. I won't say the specific event in case you want to read the comic but if you want to know about it then please do tell.
Zack said it was Dick Grayson’s suit…
@@fromkieran Wich is terrible because with that:
@@Vesohag DKR is an elseworld story.
Let's go! I've been loving you diving I to the DC universe. Great content bro 👏
Appreciate it!!
Very topical before everyone realized how big a villain Zuck actually is in real life
A good movie in my opinion
Yeah, a good movie with just small bad moments. A 7/10 in my opinion
@csvburned id say u are a cartoon Marvel 💩 pan
They all cry about Lex not being played by Bryan Cranston. It's such a boring casting choice too.
This is unrelated, but unfortunately, Kevin Conroy, the man behind the voice of Batman in the Batman Animated Series, Justice League Animated Series, The Arkham games, just passed away
Ohh that's sad news. :(
Ok? Like you said irrelevant.

Eventually he moves on bc of her and the people that love him.))0 well in his film spoiler ( superman inspires him for redemption)
But don't be fooled batman is the main villain and threat to superman. Lex is superb as well. As if elon musk felt pushed out of the spotlight by this perfect alien
This movie is a masterpiece
You are the proof that this film was so underrated cause of prejudice, at the time. You, with no information and 6 years later, love the movie. This is a crazy and awesome CBM! Awesome video man!
Some answers that you ask for:
The guy who can travel through time, is flash ;)
The post apocalyptic vision is a possible future, if superman go evil by.... darkside's anti-life equation, but you'll discover that in the sequel.
Wonder woman is an amazon, created by zeus, so she's immortal
Superman can regenerate his cells with sun rays, but he is mortal.
Think of thanos as the darkseid of marvel considering how thanos's author literally said he got inspired by darkseid ,but darkseid is just on a whole other level when it comes to strength and abilities when compared to thanos
i’m glad you have a refreshing view on these films, these films have a special place in my heart and i’m glad you like them
34:49 I loved Lex for the same reasons, best plan I’ve ever seen in a CBM!

When Barry gets frustrated and says "I’m too soon", it’s because he realizes he has traveled to a point *too early* in time for the message to fully make sense to Bruce.
just spoiler 🙄. let Eddie find out for himself.
Robin was killed by the joker. And spray painted the message on Robins Armour..hence a darker Dark Knight.
The Omega symbol engraved on the ground shown during the knightmare scene is a reference to the supervillain Darkseid
To Answer all your questions:
Wonder Woman is immortal, but she can be killed, also her lasso is called the Lasso Of Truth and if she wraps it around you, it forces you to tell the truth
And in this universe, Joker killed Robin in the past, that's why Robin's suit that was hanging up has joker writing on it
The "he" that Lex was referring to is Darkseid, which is DC's Thanos. He is the main villain of the DCEU
*Also the next movie in this universe is Suicide Squad (2016) and I recommend that you watch the extended edition of it*
The Knightmare sequence wasn't a dream. It was the future. I love this movie. Soooooo underrated.
Make sure yoh watch the Snyder Cut of Justice League.
The Russian that worked for Lex is a comic book villain known as K G Beast. He’s more of a super villain in the comics.
9:10 Me too, he was my favorite part of the film! His eccentric evil was really intriguing!
The Joker vandalism on the one Robin costume is because Joker did canonically kill one of Batman's many sidekicks that called themselves, "Robin". The armor is there "in memoriam".
That's just one of best dcu movies... the way it builds the tension between the two is magnificent... chapeau!!
0:54 The death of the Waynes is brought to BvS shot by shot by The Dark Knight Returns. So the pearl story is shown in the comic book
@@DeAndre_Moffett I agree, shame we will never get to see Zack’s vision of the DCEU
Exactly! I liked that the movie asks the hard questions and forces one to think in regards to the moral makeup of a hero.

It's always interesting to see a completely fresh set of eyes seeing something, and hearing what catches their eye and what gets their gears spinning.
The pearls are a visual que for the point when Bruce lost his sanity.
A pearl is also known to represent sanity, especially when chained together in a necklace. The breaking of the necklace is like the saying 'losing your marbles'!
The pearls also offer a metaphor for destroying the rich and priveliged.

Yes, those "projectiles" are called Batarangs; The artifact represents Batman's precious conflict with the Joker wherein Robin was killed
Glad you enjoyed it!! Welcome aboard! lol
It's nice when you can watch something with an open mind and realize that each is merely a different interpretation of what came before it.
This is still my #1 fave cbm of all time followed by CA-TWS. Both masterpiece in their own right.
The theater version of BvS while I thought was still pretty good I can see why it wasn’t for everyone.
But the Ultimate Edition I love to death in my personal top 5 CBM.
Up until The Batman with Pattison
Ben Affleck was my favorite live action Batman absolutely loved him in the role, his story, and his suit and still do but I do think Pattison overall is a bit better.
100% agree with everything
Pattinson could one day be a better Batman maybe a better Bruce but it all depends on how his trilogy plays out. Right now I absolutely hate the emo look Bruce rocked in the first film.
That being said Ben has returned for more Batman so I highly doubt Robert will be able to surpass him 🤷
@@DeAndre_Moffett
I think it works for the younger Bruce that Pattinson is playing.
I love them both euqually because they are both completely different in so many ways
Fun fact. Zack Snyder fully intended on revisiting Doomsday in a later film as we were given hints that something similar had been done before and Krypton's moon in Man of Steel was shattered. The plan was for a comic accurate Doomsday to eventually arrive. Shame we'll never get to see it.
Bro the snyderverse would be unmatched
I've seen complaints about Batman backing down after the "Martha" scene. I think that's the perfect solution. It takes something as personal as one losing his mother and seeing the other's desperation to save his for Batman to see Superman's humanity. Until that point, he didn't see him as human.
I would think because the pearls are synonymous with something pure beautiful and precious. And having them ripped apart and crumbing is a effective way to illustrate what was stolen from Bruce!
Zack Snyders justice league is amazing, it’s a shame they didn’t finish that story arch!!!
Yes, Bruce and Clark`s mothers were both named Martha in the Comics(Although technically Clark/Kal-El`s biological mother was Lara-Van, Kara/Supergirl is Clark/Kal`s cousin because her father was Jor-El`s older brother.)
The late Wolfgang Petersen was going to direct this movie as far back as 2007, but it was cancelled due to 2008-2009 Writers Guild Strike.
The writers in hollyweird must be under-fed,they're always going on strike.
