🥰BATMAN & SUPERMAN are my absolute favorite! I hated seeing them fight although it was a pretty cool battle to watch. LOVED LOVED LOVED seeing Wonder Woman I thought she was so badass! Really cool seeing them team up in the end to takedown Doomsday😄Wonderful performances all around -- Henry Cavill, Ben Affleck, and Gal Gadot were definitely my favorites. I can't wait to see Wonder Woman and Justice League next!
Yes Lauren, you are getting good at this. Spectacular job on this video. I'm just gonna keep heaping the praise. You are such a treasure. Thank you. ❤😊
great film , wonder woman is great too and gives background to her character and zack snyder justice leaque is the epic adventure story with all the heroes together fightin the invasion, hope you enjoy them , they epic
It's cool but I never cared for the reason they were fighting tbh lol "Wow this is cool but... Wait why are they fighting again" but fun to see I guess. Dark Knight Returns did it better.
Don't forget to watch Zack Snyder's Justice League, because Justice League (theatrical version) is just awful and is nothing like Man of Steel and BvS.
My favorite visual...Wonder Woman uses the bracelets to push Doomsday back, then she looks up,...as Superman rips open the sky. Gives me chills every time.
The Martha scene was controversial and still is but anyone who really pays attention can see what it was about Yes, both of their mother's name was Martha, this shows they have something in common, but it also gives a development for Batman. Batman has PTSD from his parents murder, the last thing his father said was Martha. So that's a trigger word. Once he hears it it snaps him out of his rage. Him throwing away the spear was him letting go of that anger and that line "Martha won't die tonight" adds an added layer of meaning. He can save his mother in a way he couldn't before and he can save someone else from experiencing that pain, which is why he became Batman to begin with.
Also, Superman didn't throw the name like that by coincidence. Clark is a journalist, he knew Batman is Bruce Wayne, and it took him no effort to know who were his parents and what happened to them. Superman knew that saying that name would hit Batman right in the face, and he used it that way. It's only controversial if you cut the whole scene from who are both characters outside of that scene.
@@owenzhang4821 there's actually one joke I like in Josstice League. When Steppie responds to "I have a family" with "Why does everyone keep telling me that?" while he's holding the poor guy by the neck with one hand. xD
I so don't get the hate for this movie. I find it awesome. And the scene when the people are all gathered with their candles and you see the writing, If you seek his monument look around you gives me chills every time.
1) Superman and Batman are murderers. 2) Jesse Eisenberg QUESTIONABLE casting as Lex Luthor feels like Mickey Mouse, Joker, and Jim Carrey. 3) Doomsday looks like a ninja turtle. 4) Fans have made fun of the "Save Martha" line. 5) it took 2 hours for Superman and Batman to actually fight, which lasted 15 to 30 minutes. 6) Snyder's Superman is gloomy instead of hopeful. 7) introducing the Justice League through video files with creative logos.
@@Joker42540 1. Superman murderer :D not really / batman lost his way... its pretty clear why. He starts his redemption arc right in this movie 2. I understard Lex´s take, but anyways Jesses performance was amazing and some of his lines were pretty sick. 3. Its not real doomsday but kryptonian deformity - confirmed by Zack himself. And I think design and CGI on that creature was amazing and scary. You can feel how powerfull that villian is. 4. Martha scene should be executed different I agree... But I understand it first time I saw this movie in theater. It has more meanings. Batman realizations what he became / understood that superman has human mom. 5. I dont have single issue with this. It has time to develop. Last hour of the movie was pretty packed. 7. Trinity introduced, flash aquaman and cyborg just hinted. Real Justice Leauge introduciton is in ZSJL.
@realonepx, don't get me wrong. These aren't my opoptions. Just the general audience's POV. I don't think we'll see the real Doomsday since DC is getting rebooted with James Gunn.
I have more appreciation for this movie now than when I first saw it. That seems to be the case for a lot of people, especially lately after what's been going on with both DC and Marvel's cinematic ventures. Can't wait to watch this reaction!
I think the biggest problem was WB forcing Snyder to cut 30 minutes from the 3 hour run time. I remember seeing BvS day one when it came out and being sort of disappointed with it. But since watching the Ultimate Edition, I absolutely adore this movie. It just makes way more sense and feels more complete compared with the theatrical version. Unfortunately, it is difficult to convince people to go back and watch an extended version of a movie they didn't like the first time around. But I'm glad more people are coming round to it. I feel like BvS will be talked about for decades.
One of my favorite scenes is the warehouse scene when Batman goes to rescue Superman's mom. Hands down. That is the best choreographed fight scene I have ever seen in any live-action Batman film to date! I was also impressed with how Batfleck looked as the Bat. He has the physical presence that we all imagine Batman to be coming to life straight from the pages of the comics! I really like seeing a bulk look to Batman. It really made it more real. I just love this movie! -OG
Zack Snyder understands the characters, I'm so glad you enjoyed the movie 😊 zack snyder's DC movies are amazing. The Trinity together on screen gives me chills every time 😍 Thank you for letting me share your first-time reactions to these awesome movies 🎬 🦸♂️ 🦇WW 🙏😊🙏
That Opening, Bruce running into the city under attack, the whole production, visuals, sound, just phenominal design. Also, you HAVE to check out the Animated Dark Knight Returns, parts 1 & 2, since it's the source material. Just amazing. I feel like this will still work with the new Flash, since they are still working towards the FLASHPOINT storyline. Loving this DC journey @LoveLaurenn !! But, don't give up on Marvel stuff. I recommend starting with the Xmen from the 90s, so you get the whole Hugh Jackman Wolverine experience.
I am beyond thrilled that you not only enjoyed this movie but you actually got it - so many reactors / critics seemed to miss so much of this movie and what it was going for.
So glad you enjoyed this one; it was not as well recieved when it was released. I've always enjoyed it; it pulls from several stories and timelines and really held together pretty well. The Martha thing sort of took off as a meme too, weirdly enough. Happy birthday!
The theatrical cut wasn't well received but the ultimate edition was much better according to fans & critics and it's all wb old regime fault who asked snyder to cut 30 mins of the movie cuz they thought 3hrs would be a long movie but look at avatar movies and what a huge success it achieved 😒 WB was the only reason for DCEU downfall.
Part of the problem was that the theatrical version cut half an hour out, so a lot of story points were confusing. When they removed the burning of the bodies in the desert and the fake witness scenes, people wondered why anyone would assume Superman was responsible for those deaths, for example.
MoS, BvS ans ZSJL are masterpieces. Epic, deep, beautiful. You can experience all the feelings while you watch them. There is a reason why people still talk about them.
So glad you watched this Ultimate edition version of Sup vs the Bat. Your reaction was spellbinding. ------- Your were so enthralled by the lore that led to the fight and the dreams and premonitions of Bruce against Superman. ------- You started to get a glimpse into the biggest world, the bigger villains in the DC universe.------- Awesome reaction for sure.
I honestly could not care less what people say about this entire trilogy and DC universe. Zack Snyder absolutely nailed these movies and I can’t wait for your reactions to Wonder Woman and Justice League: The Snyder Cut.
some people? SOME PEOPLE? 😂 That's like saying "some people" had problem with Trump being president . This is probably the top 3 most hated superhero film to come out in the last 10 years , the plot alone is Watpad tier. LOL
May be bias but the Flash is such a cool character. This version is Barry Allen first appearing in Showcase (1956-) #4 as the Sliver Age Flash of Earth-1 a new universe created in the 1950s. Techinally Barry is the 2nd Flash as Jay Garrick introduced in Flash Comics #1 (January 1940) is the first Flash but exists on Earth-2 the universe in which the original comics from the 1930s onwards were set. Barry met Jay in Flash of Two Worlds when he travelled to Earth-2 which gave birth to the concept of the multiverse in DC and comics in general. There was only ever one DC universe but when they created the Silver Age DC characters like Barry Allen they set them on a different which was then named Earth-1 even though Earth-2 came first. Whenever there's time related storylines The Flash is always involved with him playing a big part in the Flashpoint event which is actually what the Flash movie is loosely based on so that's exciting. They're way of explaining how they'll reboot the DCEU no doubt using Flash.
Love this film Jesse Eisenberg is playing a Lex Luthor who's a combination of his original origin where he was a mad scientist and the Lex from Superman: Birthright. That story introduced the Lex Luthor that was similar to Mark Zuckerberg (which Jesse Eisenberg played in Social Network)
Another phenomenal reaction Lauren! This movie was amazing. I love when Batman says...Tell me something...Do you bleed. Ben Affleck is a great Batman. 🥰
Toddzilla !!! Yeah, after the Daredevil fiasco with Afleck, I was totally concerned about casting him as The Batman. But damn if that man didn't just give us one of the best overall Bat-actors. Dude stepped up.
You really got it all Laurenn. Us SnyderVerse fans have defended this movie for years now, from dumb takes, and just people that didn’t even try to understand the movie*. And you actually got all of it. Thanks for watching BvS with an open mind! ❤ Can’t wait for your WW2017 and ZSJL videos!!! (*people wanted Clark to always be happy/smiling, and never be affected by the people that feared him. People didn’t try to rationalize the fear Bruce had and try to understand the ways Lex manipulated him to fear Superman even more; both Lex and Bruce are basically the villains in the story, that is until Bruce realizes he was on the wrong path and tries to redeem himself. And trust me, there are tons more of ridiculous criticism people throw at the movie. AND… there are things the theatrical cut made confusing, like the attack in africa, and the African woman working for Lex, the reason why he blew up the capitol, and Lex paying prisoner to kill branded people, ALL that was distorted on the Theatrical version 🤦🏻)
I’ve always said that this movie like wine, would get better with time. This is still my favorite comicbook movie of all time. I was around for all the hate it got when it first came out because the Marvel formula was the gold standard. I still standby what I said when I first saw the hate, the more time goes on, the more this movie will be appreciated. It’s a fantastic film and I wish WB saw the potential and stuck to their guns because this world that was built by Snyder was phenomenal.
I feel exactly the same way you feel…Zack built a whole foundation for an epic DCEU universe and WB is throwing it all away…I absolutely love the SnyderVerse…it’s so aesthetically pleasing…among other things.
Hey Lauren, the dreams Batman is having will make much more sense in Justice League (Snyder Cut). I can't wait for you to get to that reaction. ----- Your jaw will be just as wide open as your jaw got from watching this movie. Amazing reaction. Loved it so much.
as far as Batman being scary goes, never forget that he earned a Yellow Lantern more or less entirely on accident. "Oh hey I'm Batman, where are the other drugs going? What? I've become a living embodiment of the entire concept of fear? That's hella weird!"
Having Negan and Maggie as Bruce's parents was inspired casting lol There are things in this movie that I'm not crazy about, like Batman being a murdering psychopath, wasting Doomsday/the death of Superman storyline in the second movie of the cinematic universe, and this version of Lex Luthor... But it's still one of those movies that I stop what I'm doing to watch it if it's on. There's a lot of good stuff in here, and the plot in the Ultimate Edition actually makes sense unlike the theatrical cut. P.S. Seeing your emotional reaction to Superman's death not only hit me in the feels, but it, and your reactions to Superman I & II, also made me happy because it goes to show that Superman can still mean something to new fans and modern audiences. Some have argued otherwise about Superman, but they're wrong
This Superman is an arrogant hypocrite. "The next time they shine your light in the sky...don't go to it!" The next time WHO shines that light? The Gotham City police. So Batman's activities are sanctioned by the police. Who sanctions Superman? Nobody! Does Superman answer that call to fight crime in Gotham? No! Does he protect the citizens of Gotham OR Metropolis? Only the ones named Lois Lane! True, THIS version of Batman is a murderer, but Superman is too, so no problem there.
@@michaeldavis2001 That actually alines with Superman as a whole in the DC universe, as he some times ends up becoming avillain in the future, or a government stooge like in Batman Returns.
Besides everything I litterly stopped in my seat for freaking second. I thought I was dreaming but seriously seeing them together 😮😮😮😮. Bruh I’m a die hard walking dead fan and seeing that brewed my mind
Batman killing people isn't treated as a good thing, his conversations with Alfred clearly hint that Batman hasn't always been like this "new rules ?" Batman losing faith in humanity and being paranoid after 20 years of crime fighting isn't shocking ( the major reason is joker killing robin ) batman had numerous chances to kill joker but like always, he send him to prison, joker escapes and they do it again and again , it took a huge toll on his mental ( since he could have pervented robin's torture and death ) and he basically stopped giving criminals chances, in my opinion it was a brave choice to have a broken batman that lost his way only for superman to save him with his sacrifice also every single live action batman killed ( except clooney ), michael keaton literally killed a goon with a bomb and smiled at him for no reason, compared to this version, that is a real murdering psycopath
I was so skeptical about Affleck as Batman but he really pulled it off. Christian Bale's Batman was more "reality" based i guess where as Affleck's was more like the comics. In the comics he's supposed to be insanely strong atnd at the peak of human fitness. That warehouse fight where he saves Martha is one of the best fights ever and it really shows how good Batman HAS to be. If Superman, Wonder Woman or Aquaman did that, it would have been over in seconds. Batman has to be tactical, has to have tragedy, has to slowly wear everyone down, and have the skills to fight. That's what makes him all that much more awesome than most heroes.I hope you watch "The Batman" soon. Twilight kid really surprised me as Batman as well.
This part of the film goes over a lot peoples head and you nailed it in trying to unpack what is going on. Batman in this film was afraid. He hasn’t felt that kind of fear since he was 8 years old.
BVS Ultimate edition could be the Ultimate CBM. So layered and full with different themes, ideas, concepts that tie together, call backs and references. The story is so great and so well woven together. For example: "In the dream , it took me to the light. a beautiful lie." as Bruce ascends by the bats. Not only do you see, Bruce's contour take the shape of a bat "initiating" his bat journey, it's a representation of Bruce's journey as the bat to the point where he is about to kill Clark. He thought becoming the bat would take him to the light, make him better, save him. but it was a lie. It guided him to a point in life where he became ruthless and to the point of almost becoming what he hated the most, a joe chill about to kill a man and ruin a family. That is what he saw when he heard the name Martha. He not only saw Clark as a man but saw himself as a killer. . As for Lex. lex was brilliant. Everything he said and planned had meaning. "What is the punishment for witches? Ah, yes. Death by fire." Clark's real mom, Lara, who birthed Clark "An abomination or whatever" died by the flames from Krypton's explosion in MoS. "If god is all good, then he cannot be all powerful, If god is all powerful, then he cannot be all good." Lex put Clark's name amongst gods But he thought he was not good because he was too powerful. Clark died while killed Doomsday which means he is not all powerful, making him All good. "No man from the sky came down to save me from Daddy's fists and abominations." Clark, a man from the sky came down and saved Lex from the fists of the abomination, Doomsday. My favorite. "The straightest path to superman is a pretty little road named 'Lois Lane'" It in her name. Lane is a little road. She is pretty. Straight, from the sky to the ground and also to get directly to superman. Freaking brilliant characters and story writing. one of my favorite movies.
I enjoyed Affleck's portrayal of an older, more gristled, more world-weary Batman. Can't wait to see you react to Wonder Woman. It's also a great film.
Nice to see that you not only watched the Ultimate Edition but the new version of it, so you got to see the IMAX sequences with the fixed colour grading.
I do enjoy this film but I never liked the structure of the DCEU. We should've gotten a Man of Steel 2 and a sole Batman film before Batman V Superman. Death in the Family inspired story would've made for a great movie showing the death of Dick Grayson and how Batman/Bruce handled this death turning him into a more ragefully character which ends up with him breaking his no kill rule. This would be set years before Man of Steel when Batman was slightly younger but still the oldest we've seen him in film, around 35 like in the comic. Then we jump into Man of Steel 2 would showcasing Clark as the Superman we know and love and then we dive into Batman Vs Superman and then Justice League. Clark and Bruce would've met in Man of Steel 2 to just development them a little before Batman Vs Superman and hint to the next film. Side note but I really dislike Metropolis and Gotham in these movies, generic as hell cities with no personality. Thankfully the Flash film is shot in Glasgow so hopefully Gotham will look amazing in that so yeah, James Gunn really needs to make Gotham and Metropolis stand out. This Batman is heavily inspired by Frank Millers The Dark Knight Returns from the shot of Bruce holding the M60 Machine Gun to Robin being dead (Jason Todd dies rather than Dick Grayson a change I personally didn't really like) being a main plot of his rage and of course that amazing Battle suit that is pulled right out of the comic. His normal Batman as well it's very much inspired by The Dark Knight Returns and for me is just the best live action Bat suit we've seen so far love the textures and grey on Black. Of course not a one to one recreation as the comic is very different but these few elements were pulled from this certain comic. Much prefer the Dark Knight Returns Animated film but I actually enjoyed Batman V Superman at least the longer cut of the film. Also Batman did not kill in the comic. Batman reaction to guns with this line "This is the weapon of the enemy, We do not need it. We will not use it.” also from The Dark Knight Returns. Batman did use a rifle but it was used as like a grapple line did not fire any bullets. So the idea of Batman killing is very much something they did with this take on the character but early Batman of Earth-2 Batman did use a gun and had no problem killing people so it's not a new idea, Tim Burtons Batman had no problem killing as well. For Superman they pulled from The Death of Superman which is interesting, would've preferred more build up to this event but the comic itself was created as a way to draw in new readers and acts as a good introduction to Superman even though it's his so called death. Cool to see Doomsday in life action though a really cool character who is iconic to Superman but I personally would've preferred if they kept Doomsday for later. Side note but Batman 2022 was meant to have a sole film with Ben Affleck starring as Batman in the The Batman 2022 but plans changed and Robert Pattinson became The Batman. Would've imagined the story would've changed as well as this was no longer a DCEU film but it's own stand alone universe. Ben is too old for an origin story so I imagine it would've been more into his mid Batman years around the time of Dick Grayson which would've been what I wanted. Overall DC just tried to caught up with Marvel and there films like Civil War which released the same year but rushed everything instead of building out there Universe and Characters. I personally prefer Civil War for this reason as we just had 8 to 3 years of investment with alot of these characters. But overall this edition is pretty good.
Was wondering when you'd get to this. Now get to Wonder Woman & then The Snyder Cut. It was really interesting seeing your reactions to this not knowing the who/what of everything. When Doomsday showed up your reaction to him was on another level. I've not yet watched this cut, but always enjoyed the theatrical cut of it (despite the issues I feel it has). And it was an awesome intro for Wonder Woman.
this movie is brilliant. To get started, it was always zack's intention for this to be a trilogy (the main arch), that consisted in Man of Steel, BvS and Justice League. Now, to fully understand BvS, you have to understand that the characters in this movie were not the characters in their final version, per say. It was a build up for the finale (Zack Snyder's Justice League), where you can see the true Superman and the true Batman. Here, Batman lost his hope in mankind after whitnessing Supes' powers for the first time, which was a scary thing, from the perspective of a mere mortal watching the shit go down from the ground. Because of his lack of hope and his hardened posture due to years of being the Bat and failing, made him a very gritty, brooding man. This is his redemption journey, and that's what people didn't understand back in the day and still don't fully understand now. The fight between the two was never supposed to be entertaining, as a matter of fact, your reaction was perfect to it, bc that's what Zack meant to when he did it.
It's always great to see reaction from someone who actually understood the movie. Great reaction keep it going hope you do ZSJL next to continue this story.
Christopher Nolan said about Watchmen that it’s a head of its time . Came too soon . Zack Snyder Movies are appreciated with time . They age so damn well . He’s an artist who knows the comics better than anybody else . Plus #RestoreTheSnyderVerse
One thing I think you missed, Lauren: Bruce’s nightmare vision wasn’t a dream; it was part of the Flash contracting Batman from a future in which Superman has joined Darkseid and pretty much destroyed the world. Somehow, Flash’s use of the speed force to contact Bruce in the past gives Bruce a vision of that bleak future Asa side effect. And when Flash says, “You were right about Clark! You were always right!”, it’s the final piece that makes Bruce believe he has to kill Superman to save the whole world from this dark fate.
I believe what catch me more in this movie is the cinematography, is so surreal, it feels like i'm playing Xbox 😂😂😂 I do Iike Ben Affleck's Batman too , he made a good performance As always this reaction is so catchy and homecoming It was stunning watching this in the theathers Amazing movie 💛💙❤️
This and Zack Snyder's Justice League take partial inspiration from the Death of Superman comic story arc. The story of this is directly continued in Zack Snyder's Justice League. The actors playing Bruce's parents were also guest stars in Supernatural. Jeffrey Dean Morgan was also a star in Zack Snyder's film adaptation of Watchmen. This also takes partial inspiration from the Batman: Death in the Family comic story
A lot of fans had a problem with Batman killing people in this movie, but to me, Bruce/Batman is freaking done. He's been retired for years and his sense of anger and desire to protect humanity drives him into just getting it done no matter what. He's done playing around. He sees his fight against Superman as the final chapter of his life/career. He's wrong in thinking that of course, but I think that's his motivation for using extreme violence.
Yes, that was Robin's outfit with the message from Joker. Specifically, Jason Todd, after Joker beat him to death with a tire-iron. It is to show that this is a worn and traumatized Batman, who has lost his sense of what it means to be a hero, until Clark is able to get through to him and remind him. It also fits with his message to Alfred, "How many heroes are left, and how many stayed that way."
@@Fenris30 It was supposed to be Jason because Nightwing movie was in pre-production. When Grayson's role became uncertain in DCEU Snyder said it's Dick just to give an impactful context.
I had such a great time watching this with you! I'm such a huge fan of this movie, and I can't wait to watch your reaction to Zack Snyder's Justice League.
Hans Zimmer & Junkie XL absolutely killed it with this score! And I loved Batman in this despite his penchant for brutal murder. But that was part of his character arc, though it took him a bit to get over that & even after learning the lesson. But that warehouse fight!!! Like the Arkham games come to life. Batfleck is my 2nd favorite live-action version after Battinson (yup, I said it). Superman's part disappointed me, though. And that was due to the writing, not Cavill.
Great reactin, LoveLaurenn (LL). This movie was cerebral on so many levels. Very intelligent writing that was not fully appreciated when it first came out.
I commented on your Man Of Steel video that this Ultimate Edition might be the preferred version of BvS for you. It's not perfect by any means but its definitely better, and makes more sense, then the theatrical version. If I may make another suggestion? When you choose Justice League then don't bother with the theatrical cut (its utter garbage), watch Zack Snyder's Justice League instead. It's a long film, good God is it a long film, but it's worth watching!
I loved your reaction. I can't wait until you get to Zack Snyder's Justice League. If you thought 3 hours flew, you'll likely find 4 hours will also fly in Zack Snyder's Justice League! -OG
The World's Finest on the big screen for the first time. Never thought it would be happen so soon in this universe. Watched the theatrical release twice in IMAX and the ultimate edition every once in a while. Affleck as Bruce Wayne/Batman was perfect as the Tortured Veteran of crime-fighting. The early DC animated universe in the 1990s, 2010's The New 52 reboot and especially Frank Miller's work on Batman was the influence for his approach. Elsenberg's Lex Luthor is Lex Luthor Jr. Where in the comics, he was a good guy in another universe. But he's a victim of abuse who gets worser with time and with genius. The Knightmares and Post-apocalyptic visions were amazing, reveals of other heroes in this world had me losing my mind and The Trinity (Supes, Bats and the original Princess Di) finally together as an team made me lose it even more. Not just the comics, but the Arkham & INJUSTICE games largely influenced this film from action to visuals and i loved that too. Both of their mothers being named Martha was not complete knowledge to people who only knew certain mythos. It was considered controversial and stupid to most people. I was actually floored that the idea of Supes' and Bats' connecting was because of that. The emotional core of the film is definitely about Superman trying to prove to the world that he's not a threat and Wayne as Batman needing to believe in hope again after all he's been through. Bump all the haters, this was a great piece work by Mr. Snyder.
This was the most hyped movie ever that it made civil war sweat and they have to change their release date that year. The first trailer of this movie imo is still the best reveal trailer ever made. This movie had so much potential but the critics ruined it. The best triology ever
@@mannyblackstar I know right. I remember that was a major conundrum for it's time. If they had come out at the same time, that would collectively be the biggest, superhero movie explosion ever.
The real world is a mess and this movie just underlines that. Dictators proclaiming themselves as saviors and interested parties plotting behind everybody's back. Sorry for getting so dark. I also loved this batmobile and feel rather frustrated that they didn't develop this version of Batman further with Ben Affleck and Jeremy Irons alongside. Thanks for sharing
I forgot.... I'm pissed about both Ben Affleck and Henry Cavill being replaced in their roles. 😢 I'll be waiting for you to watch the rest of the movies 😸👍
26:38 You're absolutely spot on. Lex Luthor was the smartest mind in the DCEU and here he's shown as someone with PTSD just like the Riddler. Jesse Eisenberg is prob the worst miscast actor in the history of movies
one thing that really bugged me was the reveal of the Justice League members so uninspired and lazy. I just never liked the idea of teasing these members by random videos compared to something like the MCU where we cool fun little hints to other hero's existing throughout Phase 1. Felt very rushed I guess and would've been more impactful if they didn't rush everything. The Flash cameo that was good though much more creative than Cyborg and Aquaman. Glad you liked it though and can't wait for future DC reactions.
There's little Easter eggs all over MoS. And the MCU used blunt exporituin just as much as hints (iron man 2 straight up shows footage of the hulk, shows names of other heroes in the avengers power point presentation they show Tony. Similarly it makes sense to hsve that some type of expository visual shorthand here, because it's Lex's files on Metahumans. It makes sense he'd have this. That he gave them symbols is less plausible, but not implausible. He was keeping tabs, and now Batman and Wonder Woman can further investigate these metahumans.
One little detail I do like about the protesters at the capitol? Among all the negative signs, there are some positive ones mixed in there. Ones that say things like 'Superman saves lives', 'Share the planet', 'My child is alive because of Superman'. And on a slightly sillier note, one says 'Marry me Superman!'.
So glad you liked it. It is one of my fav superhero movie and loved your reaction and commentary. Some cool things which I love in this movie: 1. The Batman we get in this movie is an older seen-it-all version especially after that "jokes on you Batman" referring to Robin and also with his dialogue with Alfred about how many good guys stay good indicating the joker in this universe could be the Robin perhaps? This is why he is so skeptical about everything and after the Zod-Superman fight. 2. Love the Martha scene, I think it's pretty cool as others explained. Batman almost always thought Superman to be something like an alien and on that snap second is thrown out from his rage. Similar to Batman's monologue during the fight that "men are brave". Some cool minor things because you always seems to notice them ☺️ 1. In the Batman harbour chase the batmobile is shown as virtually indestructible but with one bump into Sups it's a toast! 2. During the fight between Batman and Superman, Batman could be seen "quite slow" with his movements. My guess is it's to trick Superman to think that he has the upper hand until the Kryptonite gas comes into the play. Because it's Batman afterall, the master planner. 3. We get to see Clark's journalistic role which is often not so common in movies especially when he goes to Gotham to interview people. 4. The movie starts with the death of Bruce's parents with the bullet hitting the floor in slow mo and likewise ends with the death of Superman with the military honours (here as well the barrel from the tank falls in slow mo) Did you all notice anything else? Would love to know!
I loved your reaction. It was chill, with no overreacting or yelling like many do. You have such an empathetic and expressive face ! Also, you're so beautiful haha
Still my favorite installment out of DCEU films solely because Batman's warehouse scene. We had more than 2 dozens Batman films, none of them come close to this fight choreography 🤘 I do hate the depiction of Lex Luthor in this. He's too much like the Joker. I don't know why DC so fond of 'clown' Luthor character in their movies, because there's other iteration of Lex Luthor that is actually serious and menacing (there's one in the comic and Justice League cartoon). He's a big stoic dude, literally the counterpart of Superman.
Well I just found out that this is Lex Jr and not the Lex Luthor we know from the comics so I don't feel too awful about not liking him. Explains why he's much younger but I wonder why they didn't go with Lex Luthor maybe but I do remember a newspaper calling Lex Luthor Jr's Dad Lionel Luthor Sr. Could be a mistake or a fun Smallville reference.
"I don't like watching them fight!" Yeah, in my opinion, that was one of the biggest problems with this movie. Although they tried to provide Bruce with justification and did have Lex stoke the conflict, it was still too much like watching Mommy and Daddy locked in mortal combat. You didn't want one of them to win; you just wanted it to stop.
Your reaction to this was one of the best!!! Very genuine I loved this movie so much & it was one of the last films I watch with my dad in the hospital before he passed in 2016. He loved it too! 😢. We played amazing grace on the bag pipes at his funeral too.
This lex luthor is based on a comic called “birthright” the idea is that he eventually after spending time in Arkham asylum he will become the more familiar lex
just so ya know, a theory about why bruce is seeing the knightmare universe is because the flash running through time to reach him collided universes for a second, letting him see the possible future, the flash was actually there, a dream doesnt make papers fly all around you lol. also, its not JUST a dream, he had no knowledge of darkseid, and he saw the omega symbol imprinted on the ground at the begining of the scene, along with darkseids ships.
When you get to Justice League, you MUST watch the 2021 Zack Snyder's Justice League. Forget the 2017 theatrical Justice League mess. Joss Whedon couldn't see Snyder's vision. And it didn't translate to the film. It's gotta be Zack Snyder's Justice League or nothing. Yes, it's 4 hours, so you may want to make a part 1 & 2 reaction. But it is so well worth it! -OG
Also, on the Jeremy Irons love, with the New D&D Honor Among Thieves film hitting theaters soon, Mr. Irons was the villain in the old 2000s D&D film. That man's acting and voice carried that film. You don't have to watch it, it wasn't that fantastic. But, maybe just check out Jeremy Iron's acting in in clips. Because, dang it, that man has a Voice presence that is commanding.
Yes the suit with ''hahaha jokes on you batman'' was Robin's and it was most likely Jason Todd's suit or they killed Dick Grayson which would be stupid.
14:49 When Lex pats Clark on the chest the sound effect is literally like slapping a friggin tree. Hilarious, but nobody ever notices in a reaction video.
Also, bit of trivia: The guy with the dreadlocks in the warehouse fight sequence is Lateef Crowder, who is also the actor/stuntman/martial artist who doubles of Pedro Pascal for the fight scenes in The Mandalorian
Was very touching to see your tears flow at the end. I get sick of the haters who insist they "felt nothing" when Superman died. You clearly did, and so did I when I saw it originally and in repeat viewings. The aftermath of his death and the funerals are handled beautifully. Saddest moment is when Lois is given her engagement ring by Martha. Was also glad to simply see you enjoy Batman dispatching some criminals in the line of duty. There are some pearl-clutchers out there who insist he shouldn't kill bad guys for some reason even though he does it in his earlier movies too, and it's clearly done in self-defense and in the heat of battle here.
I love this introduction of Batman. The dude at 16:43 is a bodybuilder C.T. Fletcher who gained fame on youtube and in his younger years was called 'Compton Superman'. It was cool of Zack to give him a cameo.
Just so u know, the monster Lex made is supposed to be Doomsday. The only comic book character to actually kill Superman. The nightmare scene was supposed show that Darkside took over. The things with wings were parademons, Darkside's minions. This is one of my favorites. When I saw this in the theater, I actually teared up when Superman died. He was my favorite superhero since I was a kid and I just didn't expect that. I loved your reaction to this movie. I know a lot of people hate this movie, not sure why but they do. I cannot wait to see your reaction to the rest of the dc movies.
@13:05 You see the inside of the Eli Broad Art Museum in East Lansing, MI. I go by it every day on my way to work, and it made me smile when I remembered that it was in this movie in this scene. Now I get sad because it's the same few block area that the shootings took place.
Afleck played an older, hardened Bruce/Batman over 10 years, the years of fighting and losing (that was Robin's suit) and seeing how people change (good to bad, etc.) Brutal Batman. Glad you enjoyed it, better than theatrical version.
Such a great reaction by you Laurenn. Sorry that my response to your reaction is so late, I was away filming in Wales, there was no Internet or phone reception so, I'm playing catch-up. You should definitely do 'Wonder Women' before you do the Snyder Cut of 'Justice League'.
I haven’t checked your backlog of reactions yet but if you haven’t seen any of the DC animated movies you should definitely check them out. A lot of the source material Zack Snyder followed for this film was from a book series from the eighties called ‘The Dark Knight Returns’. A two part animated movie was done awhile back and it is absolute perfection! Highly recommend watching that one 👍👍👍
Thank you. ❤😊
I love that you didn't want Batman and Superman to fight lol
great film , wonder woman is great too and gives background to her character and zack snyder justice leaque is the epic adventure story with all the heroes together fightin the invasion, hope you enjoy them , they epic
This isn't Batman V Superman , the better title should have Been, Enter the Wonder Woman !!! Gadot had an amazing entrance !
The Martha scene was controversial and still is but anyone who really pays attention can see what it was about
Yes, both of their mother's name was Martha, this shows they have something in common, but it also gives a development for Batman.
This makes me so happy that someone else explains it the way i felt it when i first saw it.I understood it completely the same way bro.
Couldn’t have put it better. So glad there’s those who get it know how an important moment it is for his character’s growth.
Not only that but Bruce saw him as a demon and someone who isn’t human until he finds out he has a mother seeing that he is a person
This guy gets it.
Glad you enjoyed this! Can't wait for you to watch Zack Snyder's Justice League! It will blow your mind 🤯
Agreed !!
yeah, thats a monster film! And maybe we might get TWO videos from ILL - or maybe three - its a big film!
Yes, just skip Joss Whedon's version xd, it's not worth watching
@@owenzhang4821 there's actually one joke I like in Josstice League. When Steppie responds to "I have a family" with "Why does everyone keep telling me that?" while he's holding the poor guy by the neck with one hand. xD
@@samirh2758 xD
He starts his redemption arc right in this movie
@th3mis24 definitely the most understanding points from the general audience.
@@Joker42540 And Comic Book Guy has entered the Chat...
The Trinity together on screen gives me chills every time 😍

Because MCU trained the world to see comic movies as line action cartoons again that Nolan tried to kill
I DON'T CARE WHAT OTHERS SAY. THIS MOVIE IS A MASTERPIECE.
THANK YOU ZACK SNYDER

@@Wyr_111Huh?😂

So glad you enjoyed this one; it was not as well recieved when it was released. I've always enjoyed it; it pulls from several stories and timelines and really held together pretty well. The Martha thing sort of took off as a meme too, weirdly enough. Happy birthday!
The theatrical cut wasn't well received but the ultimate edition was much better according to fans & critics and it's all wb old regime fault who asked snyder to cut 30 mins of the movie cuz they thought 3hrs would be a long movie but look at avatar movies and what a huge success it achieved 😒
WB was the only reason for DCEU downfall.
Part of the problem was that the theatrical version cut half an hour out, so a lot of story points were confusing. When they removed the burning of the bodies in the desert and the fake witness scenes, people wondered why anyone would assume Superman was responsible for those deaths, for example.
@@haidern2443 True !!
MoS, BvS ans ZSJL are masterpieces. Epic, deep, beautiful. You can experience all the feelings while you watch them.
There is a reason why people still talk about them.
Living comic books. That's what I love about Zack's vision
They look amazing it's just a couple issues that drag them down
So glad you watched this Ultimate edition version of Sup vs the Bat.
I LOVE this movie.I know some people had problems with it, but this is so close to my heart and the music is out of this world.
some people? SOME PEOPLE? 😂
That's like saying "some people" had problem with Trump being president . This is probably the top 3 most hated superhero film to come out in the last 10 years , the plot alone is Watpad tier. LOL
I can’t wait for you to react to Snyder’s Justice League!
4 hours of pure DC superhero awesomeness!
The music and visual symbolism/story telling, it's so painterly, so rich. I get all the feels.
Love this film
Jesse Eisenberg is playing a Lex Luthor who's a combination of his original origin where he was a mad scientist and the Lex from Superman: Birthright. That story introduced the Lex Luthor that was similar to Mark Zuckerberg (which Jesse Eisenberg played in Social Network)
Diana's warcry as she leaps towards doomsday will never fail to give me goosebumps.
Can’t wait for your WW2017 and ZSJL videos!!!
🙌
BVS and MoS are criminally underrated
Hey Lauren, the dreams Batman is having will make much more sense in Justice League (Snyder Cut). I can't wait for you to get to that reaction. ----- Your jaw will be just as wide open as your jaw got from watching this movie. Amazing reaction. Loved it so much.
as far as Batman being scary goes, never forget that he earned a Yellow Lantern more or less entirely on accident. "Oh hey I'm Batman, where are the other drugs going? What? I've become a living embodiment of the entire concept of fear? That's hella weird!"
Having Negan and Maggie as Bruce's parents was inspired casting lol
There are things in this movie that I'm not crazy about, like Batman being a murdering psychopath, wasting Doomsday/the death of Superman storyline in the second movie of the cinematic universe, and this version of Lex Luthor...
"The next time they shine your light in the sky...don't go to it!"
The next time WHO shines that light? The Gotham City police. So Batman's activities are sanctioned by the police. Who sanctions Superman? Nobody!
Does Superman answer that call to fight crime in Gotham? No!
Does he protect the citizens of Gotham OR Metropolis? Only the ones named Lois Lane!
True, THIS version of Batman is a murderer, but Superman is too, so no problem there.
@@michaeldavis2001 That actually alines with Superman as a whole in the DC universe, as he some times ends up becoming avillain in the future, or a government stooge like in Batman Returns.
I never even noticed that Martha Wayne was Maggie !
Besides everything I litterly stopped in my seat for freaking second. I thought I was dreaming but seriously seeing them together 😮😮😮😮. Bruh I’m a die hard walking dead fan and seeing that brewed my mind
Batman killing people isn't treated as a good thing, his conversations with Alfred clearly hint that Batman hasn't always been like this "new rules ?" Batman losing faith in humanity and being paranoid after 20 years of crime fighting isn't shocking ( the major reason is joker killing robin ) batman had numerous chances to kill joker but like always, he send him to prison, joker escapes and they do it again and again , it took a huge toll on his mental ( since he could have pervented robin's torture and death ) and he basically stopped giving criminals chances, in my opinion it was a brave choice to have a broken batman that lost his way only for superman to save him with his sacrifice
also every single live action batman killed ( except clooney ), michael keaton literally killed a goon with a bomb and smiled at him for no reason, compared to this version, that is a real murdering psycopath
4:05 anyone else noticed how the kryptonite chunk and the blanket looks like a mummified corpse
I feel like your reactions and opinions are very honest. Congratulations! Can't wait for WW and ZSJL
For example:
"In the dream , it took me to the light. a beautiful lie." as Bruce ascends by the bats.
"If god is all good, then he cannot be all powerful, If god is all powerful, then he cannot be all good."
Lex put Clark's name amongst gods But he thought he was not good because he was too powerful. Clark died while killed Doomsday which means he is not all powerful, making him All good.
"No man from the sky came down to save me from Daddy's fists and abominations."
Clark, a man from the sky came down and saved Lex from the fists of the abomination, Doomsday.
My favorite.
"The straightest path to superman is a pretty little road named 'Lois Lane'"
It in her name. Lane is a little road. She is pretty. Straight, from the sky to the ground and also to get directly to superman.
Freaking brilliant characters and story writing. one of my favorite movies.
Wow,you watched CUT's director version.Awesome ,I loved your reaction Lauren ❤️ Good Afternoom and Greetings from Brazil
Robin's Death didn't do that The BZE did. Everyone in the movie says this is New for Batman. Joker killed Dick Grayson died ten years before.
I used to hate this movie, then I liked it, then I loved it.
Imagine if she saw animated Doomsday v Superman. He kicks his arse so much more!
Add Etta’s Mission to that WW viewing, just a cool added scene at the end!
this movie is brilliant.
We need to see Henry Cavill back as superman it's been too long without him on the big screen
the warehouse fight scene cemented this as the best batman ever
We need Henry Cavill back as superman it's been far too long without him
Christopher Nolan said about Watchmen that it’s a head of its time .
I believe what catch me more in this movie is the cinematography, is so surreal, it feels like i'm playing Xbox 😂😂😂
I do Iike Ben Affleck's Batman too , he made a good performance
As always this reaction is so catchy and homecoming

Awww that’s so cool.
BvS is probably my favorite CBM so always a joy ro see someone else get so much happiness and enjoyment from it.
I recommend you watch Zack Snyder's Justice League, it connects to Batman v Superman and Man of Steel, a movie full of epic and emotion, brutal
Dick was the one killed, there is no Jason.
@@Fenris30 It was supposed to be Jason because Nightwing movie was in pre-production. When Grayson's role became uncertain in DCEU Snyder said it's Dick just to give an impactful context.
Your enthusiasm for a movie I absolutely adore was so touching…
Now please, we NEED to watch Zack Snyders Justice League together. 🖤
I think you’ll love WW and Etta’s Mission Scene ❤
You're gonna LOVE the Snyder cut 😁😁😁
Thanks for the reaction. 🎉 Happy birthday 🎂🎈 Liked the stream yesterday.
I had such a great time watching this with you! I'm such a huge fan of this movie, and I can't wait to watch your reaction to Zack Snyder's Justice League.
A lot of the unanswered questions you had in this movie will be answered for you in the Justice League movie.
Amo tu reacción en cada escena de la película..... El efecto DC saludos desde Ecuador ♥️🤭
Only just realised now that at the end his coffin goes from black and awesome looking to just a plain old wooden box when Lois drops dirt on it lol
The early DC animated universe in the 1990s, 2010's The New 52 reboot
and especially Frank Miller's work on Batman was the influence for his approach.
Elsenberg's Lex Luthor is Lex Luthor Jr.
Where in the comics, he was a good guy in another universe.
But he's a victim of abuse who gets worser with time and with genius.
The Knightmares and Post-apocalyptic visions were amazing, reveals of other heroes in this world had me losing my mind
and The Trinity (Supes, Bats and the original Princess Di) finally together as an team made me lose it even more.
Not just the comics, but the Arkham & INJUSTICE games largely influenced this film from
action to visuals and i loved that too.
Both of their mothers being named Martha was not complete knowledge to people who only knew certain mythos.
It was considered controversial and stupid to most people.
I was actually floored that the idea of Supes' and Bats' connecting was because of that.
The emotional core of the film is definitely about Superman trying to prove to the world that he's not a threat
and Wayne as Batman needing to believe in hope again after all he's been through.
If you do one for Zack Snyder’s Justice League, it will go nuts :)
So glad you liked it. It is one of my fav superhero movie and loved your reaction and commentary. Some cool things which I love in this movie:
Some cool minor things because you always seems to notice them ☺️
4. The movie starts with the death of Bruce's parents with the bullet hitting the floor in slow mo and likewise ends with the death of Superman with the military honours (here as well the barrel from the tank falls in slow mo)
Did you all notice anything else? Would love to know!
A big problem for most people is that Lex is weird in this movie, but it isn’t Lex, it’s his son Lex jr, still not a great adaptation though.
I loved your reaction. It was chill, with no overreacting or yelling like many do. You have such an empathetic and expressive face ! Also, you're so beautiful haha
Still my favorite installment out of DCEU films solely because Batman's warehouse scene. We had more than 2 dozens Batman films, none of them come close to this fight choreography 🤘
I do hate the depiction of Lex Luthor in this.
EVERYONE WANTS MORE KNIGHTMARE BATMAN!
Your reactions to this movie are so wholesome!
I'm a big, grown man and I've watched this movie about 10 times. Clark's death makes me tear up every time.
I also wanted to say that of all the reactors you understood this movie pretty amazing! Thank you
BvS is epic! I don't care what hater say... This is one of the greatest superhero movie!
-OG
Batman branding his enemies just makes him even more terrifying.
Like they're marked for death.
Basically that dirt scene is showing his regeneration coma kicking in, the next film does show all his wounds fully healed
